I don't care who wins, I'm just here for the cheap entertainment.. the cheaper, the better
This site is about the Big Brother 23 feeds and contains spoilers! It isn't necessarily thorough: it's what I catch and/or what interests me. It's about watching hamsters: who's doing what and why. Thanks for encouraging my behavior.

Daily Feeds Recaps

Day 52 - Friday - August 27, 2021

Tiffany nominated Kyland and SarahB as planned, with SarahB the target, although Tiffany told SarahB that Kyland is the target. (Afterwards, Tiffany told us that was probably "the boldest lie" she's told.) Xavier also went on the block as a repercussion of winning last week's veto. This afternoon's Coin of Destiny may or may not come into play. Initially only Derek F would have been able to play for it, and Hannah if she got voted 100 BB Bucks last night, but each of them has a mystery amount of Bucks to add to their totals now, so several others might also be eligible. We'll see.

Feeds went down for an hour or so for a new nominee loveseat to be installed, with room for three.

Feeds were down for the final High Rollers awarding of Bucks and Coin of Destiny comp from 1.20pm to 7.15pm.

Feeds came back to Tiffany, Claire, Hannah packing up Tiffany's things to move her out of the HOH room. Claire won the Coin of Destiny to "overthrow the HOH" but she made the same nominations as Tiffany's: Kyland and SarahB. Those two were entwined with tears and murmurs in the reef room, with SarahB saying she was confused and thought she was missing something, "unless I'm just completely clueless about what's going on in here." Well, yes. Derek F and Tiffany both said they also played for the CoD, but either/both may have been fibbing. Tiffany told Derek and Xavier that she was going to say she won it when it was actually Claire. Tiffany shared her boozy tea with the other ladies of the house, and said "sorry fellas." She said she was just glad she got her letter and pics, and that she can play for HOH next week. After everyone jumped up and down for Beyoncé's Lemonade, several were annoyed that they hadn't listened to it yet.

They all ate dinner together, and then settled down to silence, followed by some chit-chat, some mopey campaigning by SarahB, and some reflections and celebrations by various combos of Cookout members. All but Xavier ended up in the bathroom at one point but they went to get him so they could meet together for the first time with all six. They did a hands-in hands-up celebration, and made the alliance official with all six of them, finally.

Day 51 - Thursday - August 26, 2021

Xavier gave another monologue from his solitary room, this time the detailed story of his school and professional life. He said he spent some college time in London and Scotland, which makes his bad British accent that much odder. Overnight, Kyland committed his "pity" vote to Derek X but chances of him getting three more were virtually nil, and Azah muttered to herself "I'm going to regret this." Derek X bequeathed a hoodie to Hannah and a chain to Tiffany. Hannah encouraged him to include "Sarah Beth is playing a Nicole F game" in his nominee speech. Derek X continued campaigning, as did everyone else.

Julie asked if Derek X if she could call him "Baby D" and she did that until he joined her on stage. (Julie seemed a bit off tonight in general.) Derek X did use the Nicole F reference in his speech but he said "somebody" is playing like her without naming names. (Later SarahB told Xavier that DX's speech referenced her playing a "cold AF game.") Xavier exited solitary as Lucius with a leisurely stroll into Diary to vote. Derek X was evicted 5-2, with Hannah and Kyland the dissenters. He went out with hugs all around, telling Hannah she was "the best #1 I could ask for." She replied "I'm actually the worst." DX will understand what that means sooner or later, when he finds out about Cookout. Julie announced a $10,000 donation to American Red Cross, supposedly based on $100 for every survival bag the hamsters packed last week.

HOH comp was BB NFTs, true/false detail questions based on their video clues last night. Xavier (who did see the clues), Azah, Claire went out on the first question, and Kyland and Derek F went out on the second. Tiffany, Alyssa, Hannah all got the third correct, and only Tiffany got the fourth right, making her the new HOH. They all picked an envelope with a BB Bucks amount inside, to be opened secretly tomorrow in the High Rollers room, and the final viewer vote for Bucks was opened.

Of course Tiffany was thrilled with her win and most of them seemed happy for her, surrounding her with a group hug and then with themselves. Feeds came back to rehashing and psst-pssting, and Derek F (now the only Derek) complaining that the questions asked weren't the things he expected. Hannah said she wasn't going to rush to wear Derek X's hoodie because she didn't want to look like GinaMarie. Tiffany tentatively planned to nominate SarahB and Kyland, and Xavier will also go on the block as third nominee. Kyland gave SarahB the news, and that she'd be the target, but she didn't seem like she fully believed it.

Tiffany held pre-noms meetings since noms will happen in the morning again. When it was Hannah's turn, she broke down about Derek X and having lied/misled him about Cookout. Tiffany said DX will understand when he finds out, and said they'll all go through that when their pawn/pair goes, including Xavier and Kyland. And they agreed this wasn't the game any of them had planned to play but they're committed to their mission. Hannah again said she looked like GinaMarie (no), and laughed through her tears. And they both wished they felt as close to the other Cookouts as they do to DX and Claire. Tiffany later went out to the living room to announce she'd completed her one-on-ones. Kyland asked what about his? Tiffany said she talked to him 40 minutes, and everyone else got 15. Kyland said he didn't realize that was his one-on-one. Kyland told SarahB that Derek X said she's playing "a Nicole F game" and not "cold AF", and she asked "America" to send Bucks to her and Kyland. Sorry SarahB but last night you said "American can wipe their butt with the BB Bucks" - can't have it both ways.

Tiffany got her room around 11.30pm and the smaller but still enthusiastic crowd trooped up to ooh and ahh over her pics, which included son Christian who started high school this week, and they screamed and jumped up and down to learn her music was Beyoncé's Lemonade. She also got a squatty potty, lotions, eye patches, nails, chocolate covered cherries, sherbet, BBQ chicken, sushi, new sunglasses, and boozy tea. Her letter was from Momma Pat, her grandmother who raised her, and she got almost all the way through it before choking up.

She went on the block four times, and she ranted, cried, and was a pretty bad sport about it. She only played the game around noms and voting times, so she didn't understand she kept going OTB because she didn't bother to find out what was going on, or to create allies beyond her Jokers team/roomies. The fact she was up against Cookout didn't help her any, but she could have done a lot more than she did, and she blamed her exit on a broken deal that was never struck. She rapped for Julie, and won a hard-fought veto, and broke in on Alyssa/Christian sexytime in HOH. She seemed to be playing a character much of the time, and she contributed a lot to their many skits and songs.

Won: Week 1 Wildcard + safety; Week 3 safety
HOH 1 - Veto 2 - Noms 0/1 - HN 2
5th evicted - Day 37

It was tricky to tell him apart from Travis at first, which wasn't helped by Christian changing his hair once or twice a day, and he often sounded like Victor Arroyo when he spoke. But that passed and soon it was easy to tell Christian was the loud one who was super-glued to Alyssa most of the time. He was sometimes fun and seems like a good guy, but he made no secret of his physical abilities, including doing six backflip/burpie combos in a row one day, just because he could. Those abilities were largely what got him the boot, since he also proved he could put them into action, even when he didn't need to.

Won: Nothing
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 1
4th evicted - Day 30

Apparently she spent a few hours on Twitter and she selected one of my tweets to complain about being villainized, slut shamed, and hated. My tweet was factual, with a touch of snark, but none of that stuff. Maybe she forgot what she signed up for, and I'm sure she's having a tough re-entry, but after having hate for her flung into my mentions every day (as all updaters get, for each of them) to then get called out publicly for what I didn't do, I'll just go with Mariah's 'I don't know her.'

Won: Nothing
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 1
3rd evicted - Day 23

At cast reveal I thought international flight attendant would mean great people skills, but no. He came in boasting of charm but it didn't last long. His talk about girls and dating, and his behavior towards several women in there, were problematic and bound to get worse if he'd stayed. He was happy to be Frenchie's lieutenant for the chaotic first week but then Brent turned on him and practically denied ever being with him. He had zero self-awareness about all this and the edits skewered him as they did Frenchie, proving once again if you do clownery, you'll get the clown music.

Won: Nothing
HOH 1 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 0
2nd evicted - Day 16

Cast reveal brought controversy plus a major Cody/Derrick mixup, and the feeds opened to him announcing he wouldn't put up a woman or minority, but then he put up Alyssa and Kyland, and it was downhill from there. He did everything a feedster should know not to do: shouting in Diary, talking in cliches, Bomb Squadding, pandering, power-tripping, mistaking BB history items, grandstanding, begging for a viewer save, and threatening to quit. Still, all that gave us a wild ride and super-chaotic first week of feeds that we'd never be able to piece together if we hadn't seen it unfold.

Won: Nothing
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/1 - HN 0
1st evicted - Day 9

I barely know who he was. He dressed in drag (and looked okay doing so), he gave Kyland a birthday lap dance, took his shirt off for his nominee speech, and complained to Julie that white guys with abs are targets. And he didn't do much to prevent his eviction. That's all I got. Aloha.

Won: Early ticket home
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0 - HN 0
Replaced pre-season

Replaced by Claire pre-season, she tested positive for COVID.

Won: Early ticket home
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0 - HN 0
Replaced pre-season

Replaced by Christian pre-season, we may never know why.

Lines and Links of the Day

Kyland's farewell: I have been working with a group of people since Week 1 that has managed to keep all of our members still in the house
[DX wondered, and ran possibilities to Julie]
Derek X: Oh that's why America gave me all the money, ugghh, this game sucks

Azah: There are probably a good amount of people in America who aren't gonna get this, and feel some type of way about it, whatever
Kyland: Oh yeah
Azah: But this is a big deal.. even with it being so hard to let people go, the fact that an African-American is this close to getting $750,000 it's amazing, and it's worth it
Kyland: We're this close to making it

Derek F: I wonder if Twitter's having a whole war

Derek F: I sadly to evote Derek X

Julie: The Coin of Destiny.. Destiny.. Destiny

Julie: Be humble

SarahB to us: I am better at self-depreciating than [Kyland] is at peptalks

Derek F: I'm ready for a luck comp now
