Day 38 - Friday - August 13, 2021
Kyland got his room a little before 1am. His pics and letter were from his friend Tara, and he got a hoodie, socks, hard seltzer, Milk Bars, carne asada, pizzas, ice cream, and a load of other foods and snacks. His music was In the Heights soundtrack.
Kyland announced to everyone there would be no Have-nots "tonight" and said he didn't know if that would hold for the week or not. And he said he'd been holding meetings with some and wanted to continue doing more of those, which he did until after 5am. And meetings started up again this morning. Initially he was talking Claire/Britini noms, which shifted to Alyssa/Britini, and then Derek F finally agreed to be a pawn around 5am.
This morning they went off for noms at 10.30am as scheduled, and Kyland nominated Claire and Derek F. Feeds came back to hugs and tears, Kyland with his head on the counter in the pantry, Derek F alone on his bed, Azah crying and comforting Claire who said it was okay and "it's a game." Derek F knew it was coming and that he's a pawn, but I'm sure it's still a jolt seeing one's photo pop up on the wall. He played it up for Azah and for Britini though, in a big way. Apparently Kyland referenced chess in his speech. And then meetings started up again.
Feeds went down at 1.04pm for the High Roller room, and came back at 7.20pm. It sounded like most but not all of them chose to play for powers, and there was a very lot of whispering and speculation about who got how many Bucks, and who won something. (Note, many of them were likely lying.) Xavier talked with Alyssa, who said she got 50, and then he talked with Hannah. They both said they got 75 - Hannah pinkyswore she got that and not 100 - and Xavier said he figured Britini, Derek F, Derek X got 100, the two of them plus Tiffany got 75, and the rest 50. He said that meant viewers were behind the Cookout, and Hannah said "we're carrying the show." Derek X told Hannah he got 100. Derek F pitched a convoluted plan to Kyland about whether to tell Azah he's a pawn or not, and Kyland said he wants Cookout to agree that whoever the HOH is when 7th place goes out, that person should be safe the following week when it's the six of them left.
It was all very complicated, and the powers sound even more so. It sounded like a second veto was up for grabs today, as well as betting on something - veto players? I think - not sure - today's High Roller players will bet on a veto player tomorrow, and if that person wins, the winning better wins a second veto which they can use or save. Other powers were explained but many of them were still confused, so what hope do we have? Claire and SarahB tried to work some of it out and made it sound like there could potentially be four or five nominees by the third week, if powers hadn't been used by then. It will become clear eventually, hopefully. Meanwhile Claire got an alternate costume, with short sleeves. Xavier told Tiffany they should work on getting Britini out this week rather than Claire, since she won 100 Bucks (they think) and could continue doing that, damaging Cookout's chances of getting to final six. Xavier then presented that to Derek F who balked a bit, asking why Kyland couldn't put up Derek X or SarahB, but eventually said "okay."

Day 37 - Thursday - August 12, 2021
Christian finally conceded defeat late last night but he revved up his campaign again this morning, offering the moon to people who aren't going to keep him anyway, and to Derek X who doesn't have a vote, and he was still running his anti-Kyland/SarahB loops as well. Also on today's agenda were the usual grooming sessions, study sessions for HOH, and planning for noms. The latter was mostly if tonight's a double which it isn't, and they'll do it all over anyway tonight and tomorrow. It dawned on me that Kyland's suit is a literal asshat, and that made me chuckle more than it should. Good thing he doesn't act like one too.
Since they cliffhung last night's show, they opened tonight's by making Britini sit in the nominee chair again for a third Thursday, and the hamsters were all chair dancing behind Julie with her dramatic intro to the show as she teased the drama. They ran the veto meeting right away and Christian took Britini's spot. They showed Claire's and Kyland's costumes and tasks, but they didn't explain why Have-nots were so happy to get a sandwich because they don't bother putting Have-nots on the show anymore. They showed the campaigning and the flip talks, and the Cookout fights from Tuesday night and Wednesday afternoon, each edited down into tiny bite-size pieces that seemed much smaller than they probably were, considering their impact in the house and the resulting fallout.
Christian was evicted 7-2 as expected, with Alyssa and Xavier dissenting. He planted a big kiss on Alyssa on his way out which made the rest of them squeal and holler. Julie told them and us that they were in jury now, and she announced the High Rollers Room will be opening. It will have "three unique BB casino games and three game-changing powers" which would include remove someone from the block, second veto, and flip power to your favor. She said the games would take skill, luck, and BB Bucks. Those bucks will be determined by viewer votes tonight. The top three vote-getters get $100, the next three get $75, and everyone else gets $50. Better powers cost more, they don't have to spend their Bucks immediately, and they can bank their Bucks for a later/bigger power. The twist will run three weeks.
The HOH comp wasn't begun on the show. Feeds came back around 7pm and Kyland had won it, and his second HOH. It was a questions comp where they pick the next two players to face off, and it sounded like Kyland tried to give it to Tiffany but she gave a wrong answer. She was upset about wanting to hear from her son, Azah was upset and cried to Xavier about potentially losing Britini when they'd been hoping SarahB would go. Kyland said noms would be at 10.30am and if so, High Rollers will likely be later tomorrow and could theoretically affect his noms, so psst-pssting started up early. Kyland and Derek F held a frenzied whisper over chess pieces about who to put up and how to maneuver that with Cookout. It sounded like Claire will be the target, but they were aware things could change with powers, and obviously with veto. Kyland met with Xavier and it sounded like he'll go with Claire and Britini.
Azah and Tiffany finally sat down to talk. They re-bonded about Kyland, claiming he played the HOH too hard and they griped that SarahB would be safe this week. Tiffany said she thinks of Azah like a sister, they'll spat and come together and spat again but the love is there. Azah said she loves Tiffany too, and they hugged it out. SarahB said she was shocked by the kiss and learning Alyssa/Christian were an item that way, and she said she was concerned that her friendship and behavior with Kyland might be seen as inappropriate. Tiffany also had a long sit-down with Kyland to hash things out, and it appeared they did, on the surface anyway. But when she left, Kyland said "fuck fuck fuck fuck" so it clearly didn't work out in his favor, game-wise. Xavier had a moment about losing Christian, and he paced and peptalked himself to get his shit together, booting Christian had to be done, and he shouted out Danielle, Da'Vonne, David, Bayleigh, Swaggy, "all those people who wish they were in the position I'm in, with this many people who have my back." He then talked it over with Tiffany, and they hoped the others understand when they learn about Cookout's mission.
Kyland held meetings about noms. To my ear they were mostly tedious, repetitive, pointless, but it's how they do things. Britini's was one of the only ones where he didn't fill up all the space with his voice, it was more a monologue by her and her three times on the block. And she said she'd been told that SarahB said Britini was "f'ing obnoxious" when she won the veto. Britini offered a two week safety deal in exchange for safety this week, but Kyland didn't take her up on it, saying "deals are weird" and he still had to talk to people and think about it and etc etc. She did ask for "awareness" if she's going up, but he didn't offer that either - yet. Claire rattled off potential Kyland targets to Derek X and Hannah, clearly oblivious that she was in Kyland's crosshairs as of now. Tiffany continued her apology/goodwill tour, having talks with both SarahB and Derek F, and Xavier comforted a moping/crying Alyssa.
As of 12.30am there was no news about Have-nots and Kyland hadn't yet gotten his room - I'll catch that up and post it tomorrow.

Apparently she spent a few hours on Twitter and she selected one of my tweets to complain about being villainized, slut shamed, and hated. My tweet was factual, with a touch of snark, but none of that stuff. Maybe she forgot what she signed up for, and I'm sure she's having a tough re-entry, but after having hate for her flung into my mentions every day (as all updaters get, for each of them) to then get called out publicly for what I didn't do, I'll just go with Mariah's 'I don't know her.'

3rd evicted - Day 23
At cast reveal I thought international flight attendant would mean great people skills, but no. He came in boasting of charm but it didn't last long. His talk about girls and dating, and his behavior towards several women in there, were problematic and bound to get worse if he'd stayed. He was happy to be Frenchie's lieutenant for the chaotic first week but then Brent turned on him and practically denied ever being with him. He had zero self-awareness about all this and the edits skewered him as they did Frenchie, proving once again if you do clownery, you'll get the clown music.

Won: Nothing HOH 1 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 0 TEAM JOKERS Captain
2nd evicted - Day 16
Cast reveal brought controversy plus a major Cody/Derrick mixup, and the feeds opened to him announcing he wouldn't put up a woman or minority, but then he put up Alyssa and Kyland, and it was downhill from there. He did everything a feedster should know not to do: shouting in Diary, talking in cliches, Bomb Squadding, pandering, power-tripping, mistaking BB history items, grandstanding, begging for a viewer save, and threatening to quit. Still, all that gave us a wild ride and super-chaotic first week of feeds that we'd never be able to piece together if we hadn't seen it unfold.

I barely know who he was. He dressed in drag (and looked okay doing so), he gave Kyland a birthday lap dance, took his shirt off for his nominee speech, and complained to Julie that white guys with abs are targets. And he didn't do much to prevent his eviction. That's all I got. Aloha.
