Day 31 - Friday - August 6, 2021
Last night Derek X and Tiffany played chess pieces for a long time, and tentatively switched noms plans to Britini and SarahB, with Christian still the probable target.
Derek X held meetings with everyone. He asked the same questions of them all, so naturally they compared notes despite him asking for confidentiality, and those still waiting to go had a chance to prep their replies. The highlight of these meetings, for me, was Derek X looking around to ask which camera was on him to give us his post-meeting analysis after each one. And he'd run off between some meetings to place candies or snacks on his edible strategy board in the bathroom.
Alyssa told him she wants to stick with Royal Flush and their pairs F4, but then slipped that she'd have put up Hannah if she'd won this HOH. DX told Christian he'll probably put a little more weight on these noms because they're likely the last before jury (ouch and sorry, Christian). SarahB told DX she figures she's at the bottom of the Royal Flush hierarchy and he said he probably is too. Xavier told him he didn't think he was a threat to anyone personally (red flag), and game-wise only Britini because he put her up. He asked Britini if she'd be willing to go up as a pawn and between her ongoing "14 days" spiel, she said she wouldn't like it but would like to work with him going forward, and DX told us afterwards that meant she might be understanding. (She wasn't understanding the other times she was pawned, so good luck with that.)
Derek X and Azah struck a deal during her meeting that they wouldn't nominate each other for two weeks, or vote against the other for an additional two weeks, and he giddily told us when she left that left him free to put up Britini and Derek F, adding "I keep Azah, I keep Alyssa, they go after each other, boom!" Derek F said to the pawn question that he trusted DX, but it could be "playing with fire" if they lose another guy. He asked if DX had a target in mind to backdoor and DX said "there's a reason why I'm thinking about pawns," without giving any names. Derek F went on and on, like he does, about getting rid of a girl, he's a strategist, and would almost like to be in there as a mentor rather than a player. DF promised he'd never vote to evict DX, and would fight for him if/when he's on the block. Hannah let Derek X know his questions had been shared downstairs, and she continued to push for SarahB to go up. A final lengthy meeting with Kyland sounded like Derek X had pivoted back to Britini and SarahB, rather than Britini and Derek F.
Derek X nominated Britini and SarahB. Feeds came back to scrambling and tears: scrambling by Kings trying to figure out what happened and figuring it was Hannah's doing, and Britini comforting a crying Derek X, in a plot twist I did not see coming. Scenarios for what might happen depending on who's picked for veto and who wins it began to spin out of control, and that will likely continue through the night. Christian figured out that he was probably the backdoor target but Alyssa disagreed. SarahB was upset about being on the block and possibly going home her birthday week. Christian said if he plays and wins veto, he'd use it on her. Kyland met with Derek X and I'm sorry, but he just talks too long for me to pay attention to see if he's making points or just talking to talk. SarahB then visited Derek X and after a very long silence, DX said "I can't do this" and told her she wasn't his target, at all. The plan came out and SarahB said if she has to pick Kyland for veto if she gets to pick, she would, as she really didn't want to sit on the block on Thursday. DX said if Christian plays, wins, and uses veto, he'd threaten to put up Alyssa though he didn't want to do that due to his promise on the wall to both Alyssa and Xavier.
Christian ranted around and asked Britini if she knew what was going on. She said dramatically she didn't, she was pissed, why were so many others getting a pass and she's on the block again?! After 14 days?! Christian got heated and Britini also comforted him, telling him to take a breath. (Earlier she'd been singing and I believe Christian heard and questioned that.) Alyssa, Christian, Xavier finally made it to HOH where Derek X said Britini was his target, when Xavier asked him directly. They heard, and saw Britini singing with Azah again on the spyscreen, and Derek X feigned surprise that she was doing so well, and said he must have really convinced her she wasn't in danger. Popcorn. Alyssa told SarahB if she plays and wins veto, she'd use it on her. Meetings raged on and on.
Things finally began to settle down, with just a few whispery convos here and there, along with a lot of plans for Houseguest Choice chips and the like. Derek X told Tiffany and Claire that he'd had to tell SarahB about the Christian backdoor plan to calm her down, and that Kyland also knew. Most of them sat around the table after dinner retelling last night's comp and it was hilarious, far better than any coached Diary retells that will end up on Sunday's show. Claire secretly made Tiffany a birthday cake in the afternoon and everyone sang to her again when it came out. Royal Flush held a meeting in HOH with more plans for veto, and SarahB said she thought she could get Britini to throw the comp to her. What? No. She stayed behind to talk with Derek X and she said the Kings didn't suspect anything, and they'd even suggested she pick Kyland to play. Meanwhile Britini with some help from Azah and Derek F came up with another song "welcome to Big Brother, where everyone just hides in their rooms, conspiring against the rest of the house, pop pop pop." Kyland sat down with Britini for yet another marathon convo.
SarahB's cockamamie plan for tomorrow is to approach Britini to throw the comp by trying to convince her she (SB) has jumped off the Kings ship. That could be just for the Kings benefit though, as SB knows the backdoor plan. However, Christian and Alyssa remained in the dark about the backdoor plan, acknowledging to each other between smackyface slurps that isn't what's going on here, and in their next smacky breath they plotted to backdoor Derek X next week using the same plan as is happening now. Claire, Hannah, Tiffany agreed they'd rather SarahB go than Christian, and Tiffany said if he gets picked to play veto she might tell him to try to win it, and not use it.

Day 30 - Thursday - August 5, 2021
Last night Whitney snuggled in bed with Xavier for awhile. Azah will be happy when Whitney goes tonight, but I don't think she's aware Xavier wants Alyssa. Unless Alyssa wins tonight, she and Christian will have to return downstairs and be citizens again.
Tiffany greeted the day and us with Derek X and Alyssa, announcing her birthday and improvements on her math skills. As we head into a new week and tonight's endurance comp on the feeds, tensions are building. Last night Alyssa got mad at Derek F for implying she was like Holly to Christian's Jackson and riding his coattails, Xavier got mad at Derek F for that and told him the jokes must stop, and Derek F got mad at being scolded and left out of gametalks. SarahB decided she didn't need to win HOH tonight (she does), and she said she might throw it if Hannah goes out first. The two of them sat down to clear the air this morning, and they agreed to work together (fake). Several other "we're good, right?" convos also took place, and Derek X told Hannah he'd like to win to take the shot at Christian, even if Tiffany wishes otherwise. Various interwoven alliances could make nominations tricky for several of them this week, to say the least.
Julie opened the show by telling us teams were over, and her "will it be Hannah or Whitney?" question for the tv-onlies was spoiled by the nominees' wardrobe choices over her shoulder, as Hannah was in comp gear and Whitney in interview clothes. Whitney was evicted unanimously and seemed surprised she didn't get a sympathy vote, but that's the breaks. Julie told her about Royal Flush but not Cookout, but Cookout did get a segment on the show explaining their partner/pawn plan. Julie told us a new twist would be announced next Thursday that sounded like it will involve viewer votes. She did not give us a parting motto.
Julie told them teams were over, and she sent them out to their HOH comp, giving them their official Go at 5.59pm. It was Whale of a Time, a wall that was dressed up as a whale watching boat titled SS Floater. Of course the wall tilted periodically, "rain" fell on them periodically, and dayglo green vomit spewed at them from the mural passengers overhead. I was just getting this screengrab to illustrate the dayglo puke on the floor when Britini came down, and slid across it. Feeds came back around 6.07pm and Derek F came off shortly after, saying he was glad he outlasted Julie's instructions.
Drops in order and approximate times:
6.09pm Derek F
6.29pm Claire
6.42pm Hannah
6.42pm SarahB
6.57pm Kyland
7.04pm Britini
7.15pm Azah
7.16pm Tiffany
7.20pm Alyssa
7.23pm Xavier
Derek X won at one hour, 24 minutes, after offering Alyssa and Xavier safety. The subsequent pantry celebrations in various combinations of hamsters were extremely enthusiastic.
Derek X picked Have-nots, but the former Kings volunteered to do another rotation. I think Kyland was going to volunteer in SarahB's place since her birthday is upcoming, but there would be only three this time: Alyssa, Christian, Xavier. There was a very lot of talk about the comp, prior wall comps, and their performances on this one, with Derek F being especially funny and self-deprecating about his. Xavier made a joke about Derek F's fall, saying "down goes Big D." That may have been coincidence or he may have clocked Derek being Smokin' Joe's son, and was giving him payback for all his "lawyer" jokes. Alyssa and Christian isolated themselves, psst-pssting and griping about Derek X and Hannah. They said they hoped Hannah would sleep in HOH and "we'll put that shit on blast" if she does. Okay then. It is the season of hypocritical double standards.
Tiffany had a long shmoozy convo with Christian, and then she hurriedly told Derek X, with Hannah present, that he should go ahead and "take the shot" to get Christian out, if that's what he wants to do. Derek X said he did, and via the backdoor, meaning he'd need two pawns to put on the block tomorrow so Christian can't play for veto and save himself. DX said he didn't know whether to put up two former Jokers, and which two, or one former Joker and SarahB. Tiffany suggested what he should say to his prospective pawns, and Derek X joked about giving her the key and letting her do the meetings. Twice. Tiffany reiterated that it was his decision, like she does, but she said it would probably be his best move unless he decides to make a deal with Christian to go all the way together. Derek X said that wouldn't be something he could trust going forward.
Tiffany did quick follow-ups with Claire and Derek F, and Derek X continued to talk it over with Hannah, tentatively settling on Britini and Derek F as the pawns, although Hannah leaned towards Britini and Azah. Hannah also asked Derek X who was in Royal Flush, since Tiffany dropped the name several (seven!) times. I thought that may have been a bit of light sabotage to plant a little wedge seed between DX and Hannah, but she later told us it was a slip. Hannah asked Tiffany about it, and if it was Christian's or Alyssa's idea. Tiffany said she couldn't remember, but thought it was Xavier and Kyland, "one HOH to another" and "their two teams." Reminder, it was entirely Tiffany's idea, start to finish. Tiffany later told us she genuinely loves and respects DX and hopes he can stick for a long time, hopefully to be the last to go before the six in Cookout. And she said she'd be happy to "co-HOH or assistant HOH" with him.
Derek X got his room at 12.32am and they trooped up to gush at the pics and treats. He was excited to get ramen and ribeye steaks, along with a hoodie, socks, cheesecake, skincare products, loads of candy/cookies/chips, music by Kanye West, Hazy beer, and a letter from mom and dad.

At cast reveal I thought international flight attendant would mean great people skills, but no. He came in boasting of charm but it didn't last long. His talk about girls and dating, and his behavior towards several women in there, were problematic and bound to get worse if he'd stayed. He was happy to be Frenchie's lieutenant for the chaotic first week but then Brent turned on him and practically denied ever being with him. He had zero self-awareness about all this and the edits skewered him as they did Frenchie, proving once again if you do clownery, you'll get the clown music.

2nd evicted - Day 16
Cast reveal brought controversy plus a major Cody/Derrick mixup, and the feeds opened to him announcing he wouldn't put up a woman or minority, but then he put up Alyssa and Kyland, and it was downhill from there. He did everything a feedster should know not to do: shouting in Diary, talking in cliches, Bomb Squadding, pandering, power-tripping, mistaking BB history items, grandstanding, begging for a viewer save, and threatening to quit. Still, all that gave us a wild ride and super-chaotic first week of feeds that we'd never be able to piece together if we hadn't seen it unfold.

I barely know who he was. He dressed in drag (and looked okay doing so), he gave Kyland a birthday lap dance, took his shirt off for his nominee speech, and complained to Julie that white guys with abs are targets. And he didn't do much to prevent his eviction. That's all I got. Aloha.
