Daily Feeds Recaps
Day 5 - Sunday - July 11, 2021
Sunday morning brought the backyard, breakfasts, and primping for their swimsuit photoshoot. The annoying buzz on the nofishies loop was gone (whew), and the adoptable anipals arrived just before 10am so they could do their bikini poses. We got to watch that shoot on the feeds on OTT, but we got to see a lot on OTT that we didn't before or since.
Controversy kicked in out here, because Claire said Whitney "doesn't believe in Sandy Hook." There was a group convo about conspiracy theories last night but I didn't listen to it: I think it was mostly interruptions by nofishies and buzz, and I was sucked into Frenchie's HOH vortex. Again, I didn't do much pre-season research, but I think I did see some pics of Whitney with guns. I don't know if the convo was even on feeds but I kind of doubt it or it would have blown up last night. But I can't see any scenario where Claire would make that up, so.. wow.
Feeds came back to Frenchie speechifying to some of his Butchers plus Alyssa, retelling his convo with Derek X but leaving out his invitation to Derek join, and he told them Alyssa would be staying on the block with Travis going up and out. Hannah, Derek, Kyland took advantage of Dr Will's Porch and its seating/eating/drinking area, which even has a minifridge! Very nice. Most of them wandered in and out of the backyard, and in and out of the pool, as it was their first daytime with the yard open.
SarahB and Derek X were chatting poolside when they discovered a cockroach on Derek. Both jumped up and ran, and Derek did quite a squirmy got-the-willies dance. I don't think we've had a showdown between Team Ants and Team Roaches for a few seasons but it looks like it could happen again this summer - BB23 is pulling out ALL the stops!
Gametalk whispers and get-to-know-you convos carried on in various combos. Kyland sat down with Alyssa and Hannah to teach them how to play chess. I don't know but am guessing Hannah already knew, being a brainy STEM graduate student at 21 but if so, she played along, as she's not telling them about that. Derek F and Xavier had a lengthy check-in at the photo wall, and Derek made a lot of gestures at the pics that would have looked sketchy if anyone was watching - I don't know if anyone was or not. Derek F has been playing a strong and very busy getaround game, and Xavier reminded him to take time to relax and just hang out, or he'll get paranoid and lose it. Derek also told Xavier he's glad Frenchie has a wife and kids or he'd be trying to constantly flirt with him. Brent was present for that. I don't know if Derek was being genuine or joking, or if that was for Brent's benefit, maybe hoping it'd get back to Frenchie for shmoozing purposes.
The show came and went, and wow did they streamline the pre-noms lunacy! But that's none of my business. A group activity broke out on feeds, with complicated rules and all of them eventually joining in. Somebody was called to Diary as it was getting underway and they all groaned - newbies, they'll get used to that. It was Truth or Dare ish, or evolved to that. They seemed to have fun, and they got louder as they went, eventually featuring highlights like Derek F vs unicorn, Kyland lapdancing Claire, and Travis in drag, along with raps and tasks and Frenchie wearing a flamingo pool floatie throughout. And then they gathered around the table and Tiffany recreated Frenchie's noms speech, in overalls, with accent, and she NAILED IT hilariously.
Also today, Christian told Derek F that Frenchie had offered him a Final Two deal, which Christian said he accepted but didn't mean it, as his true F2 was with Derek F. Derek F (who also has an F2 with Frenchie) said "absolutely same." And Tiffany and Hannah had a good gametalk, sounding like they both wanted to team up.
Frenchie started his rounds around 8.30pm. I'm not going to keep up with the individual talks because come on, it's Day 5 of this. I'll post the final results later, if anything is resolved, or rather I should say "final". Interestingly, Brent also began rounds about Frenchie becoming too sketchy.
11pm update: Frenchie's talks were long and tedious. He seemed to be trying to set up Derek X, saying things like he [Frenchie] had told Derek he'd "blow his shit up" if he didn't use the veto. Fact check says no, Frenchie asked Derek X to join his big alliance. And he said Derek X had called Tiffany a bitch. Fact check says Derek X and Tiffany are pretty tight, plus assumption based on five days says that'd be totally out of character for Derek X even if he didn't like Tiffany. And Frenchie revved up his not wanting a woman or minority to be the first boot spiel again. It seems Frenchie was trying to set up Derek X to not use the veto so Alyssa or Kyland will go, and he can blame Derek X for it. Once the retells begin and notes are compared, anything could happen.
In happier news, the selfie camera came out and they did poses and skits, like they do, while Frenchie cornered whoever wasn't currently posing to talk at them. They did a round of swimsuit/group pool pics that looked pretty good - the staff photographers could have stayed home this morning or gone out to brunch or something. Thanks to @iam_erika for the screencap!
11.30pm update: Frenchie later told Derek X to use the veto on Kyland, which Derek X already promised Kyland he'd do. Travis (the probable renom if it's used) and Derek X had a long whispery talk to try to figure things out. Also, Whitney and Christian snuggled on the hammock, but Frenchie's pre-emptive showmance alarm didn't seem to go off. Thanks to @TheBryPie for the screencap!
Derek X found/figured out some of what Frenchie's been up to, and he again promised Kyland he'll be using veto on him, and incorporating the fish/bait analogy into his speech. Then Frenchie told Derek X that Kyland tried to pitch an F2, but Travis is loyal. Later, Frenchie pitched to Derek X, with Alyssa present, that he take off Alyssa and he'd renom Travis. Derek X said he's promised Kyland multiple times he'd use it on him.
Veto meeting is usually somewhere in the 11am to 1pm window on Mondays, so plan accordingly.

Day 4 - Saturday - July 10, 2021
They did their COVID tests, which will be Tuesdays after this, and they drew veto players: Derek X, Tiffany, Travis (Kyland's Houseguest Choice). There was some chatter about maybe not enough chips being in the bag, but there was some chatter last night about that suspicion from watching the shows. So maybe a self-fulfilling paranoia, or maybe the immunes aren't eligible. We'll find out, or not. Derek F will host.
Frenchie told Kyland and Derek X that Kyland's his pawn and he wants two women on the block on Thursday. That was likely to shmooz Derek X, who will probably be renom if either nominee comes off. Frenchie told Derek X "it's okay to be in the mindset of winning" but the main thing was to just have fun. Wow. Later Frenchie told Christian if noms stay the same, he'd want Kyland to go.
Frenchie later acknowledged his opening night promise to not nominate girls, to SarahB, and he spun his loops about why he put up Alyssa. Azah, Britini, Claire, Tiffany formalized an alliance, and overnight, Frenchie and Brent fist bumped a Final Two. Frenchie told him he also has another F2 (likely with Derek F).
It was a lot of hanging out, snacking, chit-chatting, waiting for the veto comp. Derek X would be the likely renom if needed - there aren't a lot of choices.
Feeds went to adoptable anipals at 2.15pm for their comp. When they returned around two hours later, Derek X had won the veto, and the scramble had started. The comp had a wheel of fortune type wheel and involved rolling balls or ice cubes, dropping wedges, running back and forth, and a timer? We'll find out. Derek X said he'll use it on Kyland, but Brent told him to "do whatever Frenchie wants" and that they'd talk with him later. Afterwards, Derek X told us Brent says nothing new when he talks with him, and asked for a clock to count how often Brent says to do what Frenchie wants. It's going to be a very long weekend, buckle up!
SarahB began talking about coming out to her stepdad, and her bio dad, who passed away in July [from COVID]. She choked up, understandably, and said she was glad she told him before losing him. Then she cry-laughed and said "why am I having this conversation when I'm so tired?" She got a lot of hugs and great support. This cast has had a lot of tragedy: Xavier lost his brother in April, Frenchie lost a child several years ago, Britini had an older sister who died before Brit was born, and Brent lost his father to suicide.
Derek X's socializing and general mood improved 100% from there. He chatted with various people and was more animated than he'd been the last 24 hours or so. Almost everyone enjoyed another dinner by Derek F, except the Have-nots of course, and Britini who has special dietary needs (gluten issues, I think). Both Brent and Frenchie took long naps that BB didn't interrupt, and nobody out here seemed to mind. Derek X, Kyland, SarahB, [Travis or Christian, sorry], Xavier had a lengthy and interesting convo about documentaries. Azah and Derek F had a lengthy gametalk, where he denied being in or knowing about a big alliance. They were joined by Britini, who said she thought Hannah was a great person but potentially trouble in the game. All three said they hadn't talked game with her. Claire, Tiffany, Kyland also had a lengthy gametalk, and Claire and Tiffany gave him some coaching about how to handle his upcoming veto talks. (They're both feedsters, so they've seen those kinds of talks in full, rather than the snippets that make the edited show.)
Derek X sat down with Frenchie in HOH and said his team wants to stick with him (Frenchie), and Frenchie said Derek should do what he wants, he doesn't want to tell him what to do. Then he said he'd like the veto used, on Kyland, and Derek said great, that's what he wanted to hear. Frenchie said he'd like to bring everyone in one by one to ask who they'd like to see next to Alyssa to "find out what the house wants," but he said Alyssa is his target now, still because of Christian. In a rare-for-hamsters burst of self-awareness and self-analysis, Derek X said he was surprised how paranoid he'd gotten, and how quickly, and how it had affected his mood and demeanor. Whitney and Tiffany interrupted to say good night to their kids with Frenchie. He said he'd already done his before napping, and "the HOH and veto holder are talking." Whitney and Tiffany said their good nights to their kids and left. Frenchie carried on talking at Derek for a very long time, turning away several visitors, and strongly hinted about his Slaughterhouse (not by name). He finally told Derek there are 11 people in it, but said it's not an alliance.
Brent was summoned to join them, which upset Azah as she'd been waiting to use the HOH shower. She vented to Derek F about it, since they're on Frenchie's team and Brent is not, and Frenchie was leaving them in the dark. Derek F did not acknowledge that he was indeed aware of Frenchie's actions. On and on it goes.
They'll do their swimsuit photo shoot tomorrow, and they'll continue to talk their loops and spin their wheels. As of 11pm, Travis is the likely renom taking Kyland's place, and the first evictee, but that's subject to change. Frequently. It's still a long time til veto meeting on Monday, and even longer til they vote.

Noms count: original/renom/twist

Yay for first night/first week feeds! Boo for TURN IT UP song opening night. Yay for a fresh cast of real-life and mostly bright people! Boo for far too many feeds blocks already. Yay for a packed premiere without a lot of filler! Boo for another round of unnecessary twists. All totalling up to a resounding neutral.

Won: TBA HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0/0 - HN 1 TEAM KINGS
She's had a rough start, between not feeling well opening night, Have-not, and nominated, so it's hard to gauge her objectively. But she's handled it all pretty well and rebounded from her nom, especially after getting shmoozed by Frenchie.
|

Won: Week 1 safety HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0 TEAM JOKERS
She's keeping a relatively low profile but she's proven to be very observant and aware of what's going on, which is more than a lot of us can say at this point. And she's likable, and has popped some good funnies. A keeper.
|

Won: TBA HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0 TEAM ACES
He's a buffoon, and a busybody buffoon, and I find them comical especially at this early stage. That will get old fast though.
|

Won: Week 1 safety HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0 TEAM JOKERS
She seems to have set herself up pretty well game-wise, and she isn't as continuously perky as her TikToks led us to believe she would be, and that's good. She might become problematic if she's going to tattle a lot, but we aren't there yet.
|

Won: Week 1 Wildcard HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 1 TEAM KINGS Captain
I keep thinking it's Victor when I'm listening/not watching, but otherwise I don't have much. I don't usually follow the bro-jocks around the feeds unless I have to.
|

Won: TBA HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0 TEAM QUEENS Captain
She's one of several feedsters in there and she's playing low key so far, as she should, unlike Frenchie. She follows a lot of lesser known but superb BB Twitter accounts, and that's really encouraging. Looking forward to more from her.
|

Won: Week 1 safety HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0 TEAM JOKERS
He's funny and savvy at the same time, and he's also empathetic and genuine, and did I say funny? I hope he sticks around a long time.
|

Won: TBA HOH 0 - Veto 1 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0 TEAM ACES
I had high hopes for him based on his pre-BB resumé, even though he's one of few recruits this time. I figured he'd do the proper research, and he did do some, but he had a slow and near-catastrophic start. But then he won the veto, and now he's in the game.
|

Won: TBA HOH 1 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0 TEAM JOKERS Captain
What exactly is going on here? Nobody seems to be able to figure it out, but he's caused a whole lot of chaos and that makes for a whole lot of popcorn.
|

Won: TBA HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0 TEAM ACES
She's gotten some flak for being new to BB, but bingeing however many seasons during quarantine has given her a sharper memory for prior seasons than most of us retain. Well, more than I retain anyway. I think she's in a good spot, she seems well-liked, and I'm looking forward to more from her.
|

Won: TBA HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0/0 - HN 0 TEAM QUEENS
I'm not sure what to make of him. I like him in general, and he reacted well to his blindside nom, especially considering he thought he was tight with Frenchie, but I haven't seen as much of him as I'd like to, yet.
|

Won: TBA HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 1 TEAM KINGS
She's in the 'quirky girl' cast slot and she's filling it better than some have. She's likable and her voice isn't annoying, which her pre-season stuff indicated it might be. She might be a coaster or a sleeper and go far - I can't see anyone wanting her gone anytime soon.
|

Won: TBA HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0 TEAM QUEENS
She's fun and funny, and personable, and she knows what's going on in there. Like Claire, she's a feedster who isn't talking about it nonstop, and the two of them have already teamed up. They could be unstoppable if they can win the comps they need and/or maneuver their way around those who do.
|

Won: TBA HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0 TEAM QUEENS
Who?
|

Won: TBA HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0 TEAM ACES Captain
She's extremely photogenic, and says a lot of random wacky things. That's about all I got so far.
|

Won: Week 1 immunity HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 1 TEAM KINGS
It seems like this guy can do no wrong. Surely there's a flaw of some sort? If so, it'll come out on feeds, it always does.
|

Won: Early ticket home HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0 Replaced pre-season: tested COVID positive
Replaced by Claire pre-season, she tested positive for COVID.
|

Won: Early ticket home HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0 Quit or ejected pre-season
Replaced by Christian pre-season, we may never know why.
