Daily Feeds Recaps

Day 60 - Saturday - October 3, 2020

I guess Christmas just can't stand to be not talking. With nobody handy to yap at in there, she again turned to us. I know, many of them have held lounge sessions with us this year: David, Da'Vonne, Kevin, even Cody did it in HOH last night. But none of them addressed us in the condescending, lecturing tone she insists on using whether talking to us or them. She explained the game, what it's like to be in there (comparing it to Westworld), and she yet again rattled off her resumé. Bottom line, she (wrongly) said she'll be fine if she's still on the block Thursday against Tyler, Enzo, or Memphis. She said Nicole wouldn't be an option for renom. Elsewhere, Nicole muttered to herself that she'd been a target the whole game. Along with many other disappointing firsts this year, I don't know if we've ever had so many delusional hamsters at the same time before.

Feeds went down around 1.10pm for three and a half hours for the veto comp, which Cody won. It sounded like a timed puzzle comp, individual runs, putting season events in chronological order. Cody and Memphis razzed Nicole about losing yet another comp - she came in second. Enzo and Tyler both timed out. Tyler sat alone in the camera room looking defeated, and Christmas sat in the key room nervousing to Enzo, saying she had a black mark with all the voters. Odd, earlier she was all cocky that she'd have the votes no matter what. Enzo told Cody that Tyler told him about the Committee just before the comp, and that he'd said Cody would renom Enzo if veto was used. Cody laughed at that, Tyler entered, and told them he figures he's done, that Nicole and Memphis won't talk to him. Christmas made dinner for all (except Nicole), and she did most of the cleanup as well. Transparent efforts, anyone? Cody thought he had an allergic reaction to the zucchini, but maybe it was just the excess salt she accidentally dumped in it.

Cody and Nicole met and both wondered if Tyler threw the veto to look like less of a comp threat, and both agreed it would be stupid if he did that. Cody told her Tyler wants the veto used and Memphis to go up, to ensure Christmas goes. Cody said he'll talk to Memphis, Nicole said she's wanted Tyler out for a long time, and will tell him she's voting him out. Cody said "all right, so why don't we just send him home?" He reiterated that he'd talk to everyone, and Nicole said "Tyler's hands down the biggest liar I've ever played with in this game." (She didn't specify if that included herself or not.) She did say she's done more in the game than Christmas, in response to Cody's report that Tyler said he wants Nicole to go to final four since she hasn't done anything. Nicole asked "what has Tyler done in this game other than be terrible at it?" Cody said "Tyler's done nothing, he's a nothing," and he said he'll let Tyler think he's safe and then blindside him Thursday. That extra salt dumped in the veggies really got around. Meanwhile Christmas told Memphis she'll make cupcakes this week.

Nicole napped, Tyler and Christmas played backgammon, and Cody, Enzo, Memphis planned Tyler's demise. They agreed they knew where Christmas stood but Tyler not so much, and that she wasn't as big a comp threat as she talks herself up to be, but Tyler not so much. Enzo reported that Tyler actually hadn't thrown today's veto, as he'd been crushed afterwards. The vilification process kicked in, like it does, as they brought up Tyler's past and perceived future crimes. And they planned themselves to final three, and Cody played along with no reference to his partnership with Nicole, of course. It's only Saturday but it's looking pretty firm that Tyler will go next, even though Christmas was the original target. That's bad news for those of us who simply can't listen to her anymore, but we're nearing the end so we can struggle through.

They got a booze delivery around 9pm, and they had the usual difficulties divvying it up. All but napping Have-not Nicole toasted to surviving the triple and they went to HOH to drink and yack. Tyler, Memphis, Cody each had a bottle of wine from their HOH baskets they'd been saving til the yard opened, but they cracked some or all of those open as they talked prior post-season stories and Christmas retold BB19 again. Starfishies started breaking into every convo and around 10pm feeds just shut down, as has been the norm for booze deliveries this year. Pffttt. They came back a little after midnight and hamsters were trashed.

Day 61 - Sunday - October 4, 2020

BB didn't wake them up til 11am and even Memphis stayed in bed til then. Bagged beach balls remained in the pantry, as they have for days. The yard was open, as it had been last night for their sippy adventures last night, but the outdoor portion of the evening was withheld from feeds. We did see them get loud and silly playing in the dark in HOH, and Memphis tried to get a little handsy with Christmas.

Christmas greeted the day by saying she'd gotten pretty tipsy last night (we noticed), and she and Tyler finally noticed Benny the comp squirrels placed among the decor on the backyard walls. Christmas clearly wasn't wearing her glasses, as she said she'd "never seen a squirrel sit so still and regal before." Cody (of all people) had already noticed the squirrels and said they'd been there for a few weeks. Christmas also described her foot break, surgery, and ongoing related issues in great detail. Again.

It was a sunny lazy Sunday afternoon for the most part. Nicole and Cody had a whispery check-in, with Nicole saying Christmas hasn't campaigned to her at all yet, figuring she was confident she had Enzo's and Memphis's vote. And she pushing her strong anti-Tyler agenda and Cody agreed. She said he's the biggest snake she'd ever played BB with, and that people said she was a snake but she's just "a cute little garden snake." And she again told him she needs to be sure everyone knows they'd win in the end against her. Later talking aloud to herself/us (again - most of them are doing that these days), she said she just needs everybody to think she's by herself, and "I have nobody, help." So apparently she thinks none of them and none of us know she and Cody have a pre-season final two, okay. Tyler approached her to ask if she knew how she was voting yet, and she said she didn't know yet, despite having announced several times she'd happily tell him.

The rest of the day was a lot of nothing, with various chat duos bashing random others, and a lot of starfishies. Feeds went to adoptable anipals at 7.38pm, and returned at 8.24pm with Nicole alone in Have-not on all feeds. She was studying days and season events alone and aloud, using the backgammon set as a study aid. I don't know what feedmasters are up to anymore, but it seems they might be blocking feeds whenever they're all out in the yard? Maybe to thwart wall yellers, if so. Regardless of what's up with all the blocks, feeds have become very difficult to watch lately, whether the hamsters are on them or not. The night brought more anipals, more starfishies, some Cody talking to us about how hard the game is, and Memphis complaining to Christmas about pain in his leg - maybe sciatica as a result of his earlier back problems.

Important programming note Due to a Sunday football game being moved to Monday, tomorrow's show will be on after the game ends, so probably sometime between 10 and 11pm? With such a late programming change, DVRs might not pick it up. But the episode will be in All Access by late Monday night or Tuesday morning.

Reminder, if you missed what came before, check my previous episode, always linked up top or from my season index, and get the feeds to catch anything you missed with Flashback!

Day 62 - Monday - October 5, 2020

The camera came out so they posed, and snapped, and admired their poses accordingly. Memphis was still having sore leg issues and did or will see the doctor - I'm unclear which. Apparently he jumped into the pool last night and hit the bottom sooner than he expected. Christmas annoyed him with gametalk until he had to walk away, saying he doesn't focus on negatives but instead plans ahead. Nicole dangled a shower hairball at Cody while he was eating breakfast, making him gag, and he threw the rest of his food away. She waved it in the air gleefully shouting "if I can't eat, nobody can eat!"

Cody did not use his veto so Christmas and Tyler remain on the block, with Tyler the most likely to be evicted as of now. Tyler asked Nicole about her vote, and she said she has to talk to Cody and Enzo as she wanted to be on the same page with them. Tyler said Memphis told him he wasn't voting for him, and she said she thinks Enzo might keep him, adding "so that's what I would do." Tyler said he'd understand if she didn't vote to keep him, and she said "I don't want to keep either one of you" and they both laughed. She also said she was mad about him voting her out more than putting her on the block. Later she happily retold to Cody, knowing full well she'll be voting to evict Tyler.

For her campaign efforts, Christmas made a slopcoction for Nicole that she liked. Most of the rest of the day and especially the evening brought more starfishies than feeds again, with occasional moments of individuals snacking, or Nicole alone in Have-not studying or staring into space. I don't think they're even including Julie's "watch the live feeds" teasers in the air shows anymore.

Reminder, if you missed what came before, check my previous episode, always linked up top or from my season index, and get the feeds to catch anything you missed with Flashback!

My permanent gripe/comment remains as long as slop does: They need to do away with slop in general, but especially during pandemic plague season when good nutrition should be a major priority on their highly-touted list of safety concerns.

5th juror, 10th evicted, Day 58

She said she wanted to take Janelle's BB Queen crown, but instead she probably damaged her BB reputation. Not only did she not win comps like she used to, but she failed to bring the entertainment factor. To be fair, she didn't whine and complain as much as her prior seasons, but she came close. She either didn't pre-game well or she changed her mind once she saw who all was in there, and when she talked too much too soon about turning on her allies, it was her undoing. She had to nominate four people in her disastrous HOH week, and inexplicably decided not to push for Tyler to go once she had him on the block, even though her original plan for the week was to boot him out the backdoor.

Won: $10,000; Basement Disruptor/gave himself immunity Week 6
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 4/0/0 - HN 2

4th juror, 9th evicted, Day 58

He got a lot of flak for not being an 'all-star' but many of them technically weren't, and he deserved another shot more than most first boots. He went farther than many expected, but that was mostly due to power group shufflings rather than his own doing, other than the save he earned himself with the Disruptor power. But he blew that by fake crying and bad lying, and he caused a number of rants when he took $10k rather than veto in OTEV. He was an erratic player, often seeming brilliant and clueless in the same moment, but he eventually worked himself into a decent social position against many odds, not the least being Nicole's vote lie. But Memphis finally got his way and got him gone.

Won: Nothing
HOH 0 - Veto 1 - Noms 5/0/0 - HN 2

3rd juror, 8th evicted, Day 58

He went on the block at the start and never recovered. He wouldn't forgive his former idol Janelle from preferring Keesha stay that first week so he tattled on her, which helped to destroy all hope of the outliers banding together to take on the dominant power alliances. Then he became the pawn star and was nominated four more times, winning only one veto himself and once benefiting from Da'Vonne's win. He spent way too much time trying to analyze who was with whom, sometimes accurately but often way off, and he didn't do anything about it anyway. He was perky and snarky in Diary, but on feeds he was mostly miserable and mopey, rarely coming out of his Eeyore gloom.

Won: $5,000
HOH 0 - Veto 1 - Noms 2/0/0 - HN 2

2nd juror, 7th evicted, Day 51

Winning was one goal she didn't achieve, but she was highly successful with her other goal, to raise awareness of the extra challenges Black hamsters face in this game. Those goals conflicted when David tattled a confidence and again when she believed Nicole's lie blaming her vote on David. She made some messy game choices, but she made eloquent, impassioned block speeches, she had compelling in-depth convos, particularly with Kaysar, and she pointed out the frustrating facts when her point was repeatedly proven. She won a huge but teeny tiny veto, and she once again provided endless reaction memes and gifs. She was the heart and soul, and most of the entertainment, of this season.

Won: Safety Suit #2 (Christmas's win)/1 week space skits
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/1/0 - HN 2

1st juror, 6th evicted, Day 44

His plan to lay low at first was foiled by the ones who started gaming long before move-in, and his F2 with Nicole was only insurance on her part since she was tighter with the power group. Learning that broke him and it was downhill from there. He showed some entitlement about deserving to win but talked about his struggles learning to lose, which proved him vulnerable and human. He did a superb job with his skits, and talked openly about being on the spectrum, and it was so good to see him again. As before, I wish him well in all he does.

Won: 500 tricycle laps
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 1

5th evicted, Day 37

She and Tyler had their ups and downs, repairing their relationship from last time and breaking it up again, and that affected the game in various ways. Her friendship with Janelle was fun to watch, and her friendship with Da'Vonne was golden, the type that will likely last long after this season's forgotten. She gave yoga classes, and she rode 500 backyard laps on a tricycle as a veto repercussion, 40 with only one pedal, and BB didn't even put it on the show. Her great attitude riding those laps, mostly to spite her haters, was a joy to behold.

Won: Safety Suite #1
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 2/0 - HN 1

4th evicted, Day 30

His BB strategy plans have always held promise but implementing them, not so much. But no matter: he was and is a class act, and he always brings the kind of much-needed humanity our feeds are usually lacking in a big way. It's too bad things didn't work out differently this time but it was great to see him on our feeds again, both for himself and for his fun friendship with Janelle.

Won: Safety Suit #1 (Kaysar's win)/1 week star
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 1

3rd evicted, Day 23

It was great to see her on feeds again, especially her easy friendship with Kaysar. She was BB6 Janelle again but without the in-your-face name-calling that would have made things more fun for us, but props to her for not going there. It's astounding how hard she was targeted just for showing up, proof that Janellousy is still real.

Won: Nothing
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 1

2nd evicted, Day 16

Imagine going on BB and not wanting to work with Janelle and Kaysar. Having them to go bat for you, hard, and then throwing it back in their faces. It's mind-boggling. She was in way over her head this season, made one bad decision after another, and she repeatedly promised us a house meeting that she never delivered.

Won: Nothing
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 0

1st evicted, Day 9

She was feisty her first time around but like all of them, she's older and more mature now, and her birthday happened before they moved in, so we didn't get any new memorable Keesha scenes. But it was good to see her again and she got a nice check for two weeks isolation and one week of summer camp.

BB22 finalist prizes are $500k for the winner and $50k for 2nd place. 3rd place gets $10k bonus, 4th place gets $7.5k, 5th place gets $5k. All got $40k for showing up, plus $1k stipend per week.

The habitat has 94 HD cameras (no change) and 113 microphones (no change).

The recorded in-house announcements are the voice of producer Don Wollman. He and Julie Chen are the only staffers who have been there since Big Brother 1.

"Position the habitat of your hamster somewhere light and airy, away from drafts, heaters, direct sunlight
and other pets. Never put it on or near a television, radio or hi-fi, or a fridge."
