Daily Feeds Recaps

Day 6 - Monday - August 10, 2020

Cody and Memphis held a pre-veto meeting meeting to exchange notes on their various convos, and when Memphis suggested replacing Bayleigh with Nicole F in one of their alliance loops, Cody agreed (of course he did), and Memphis pitched it to her a bit later with the requisite "you're the first person I've talked to about this" lie. Memphis was still calling Tyler Taylor a lot, and Cody was still calling David Kevin a lot. Kevin gave himself another lengthy peptalk, saying he needs to add more strategy to his campaign pitches, and that he never expected to be on the block and Have-not the first week, and he was unprepared for that (as well as in general, since he wasn't on the block til the final weeks of BB11).

There was some talk about having the first of their weekly virus tests tomorrow, with Cody arguing that COVID-19 wasn't that big a deal. Enzo did not use his veto, so the rest of the week will be a lot of whispers and waffles over whether to evict Keesha or Kevin. Both seem to be in over their heads this season, and with the complex alliance roulette that's been going on, it'll be a matter of which nominee will be seen as more useful to more hamsters going forward.

Janelle made a cake for Kaysar's birthday, and she was told partway through the process she had to wear the complete star suit instead of just the shiny unitard.. maybe for a show segment to showcase Kaysar not getting evicted on his birthday for a change. She made tacos for birthday dinner. Christmas may have done some cooking as well, I'm not sure. Have-nots sat outside commiserating over how good the food looked and smelled, and looked forward to tomorrow when their week of malnutrition ends. There were various vote convos here and there but nothing was decided for sure, and there was some talk of "voting with the house" - that's not what we expect from All-stars but we'll see how things unpack as we go.

Dani did some campaigning for Kevin to stay, getting agreement from Bayleigh but no commitment from Ian, who also didn't commit later when talking to Janelle. Kaysar's annoyance at not getting any vote commitments continued to build, and he told Keesha "it doesn't make sense, what the hell kind of game is this?" Enzo said something a toy of his son's, and Christmas went to HOH for a full-out sobbing session, missing her son. Da'Vonne comforted her and was joined by Nicole A and then Nicole F. Bayleigh gave Janelle a peptalk about not knowing how to proceed in this odd season, and missing her son's birthday. Tyler forged yet another partnership when he told Kevin he'll fight for him to stay, pleasing Kevin, who said he'd love to work with Tyler going forward.

Later Nicole F cried to Cody and Christmas about Janelle mostly, and Nicole A, along with Keesha, Bayleigh, Kaysar. She said they were having a party when she wanted to go to sleep, and Janelle kept bringing up things Nicole F didn't want to talk about: social media sponsors, Victor, Corey, Hayden. It should be noted much of that convo was on feeds a little while earlier, and Nicole F seemed a very willing participant, but maybe she realized after the fact that she regretted some things she said. (Or maybe Diary wound her up? I don't know, but they wouldn't need to. This Nicole F/Janelle feud is going to develop and escalate without any help from them.) Nicole also griped about Nicole A talking about her podcast partner (who Nicole F has said hates her), and that she was "being tortured by people" and "[Janelle] never has to wear her freakin costume - I couldn't even not carry my sausage for two seconds." Dani later told Nicole F that Janelle made up the pre-season rumors about her, but Nicole F already knew that (or suspected) - she told Tyler yesterday it was Janelle and Evel Dick.

Day 7 - Tuesday - August 11, 2020

Dani and Cody had an early check-in, where Dani again said she really likes Ian and "I feel bad saying stuff because I know Ian's Ian, I'm not discrediting who Ian is, but you know he uses who he is to his advantage in this game, where like every time you talk to him you just want to give him a hug." Cody responded "honestly, because of what his situation is, I don't think he uses it, I think it's just who he is." The word autism wasn't mentioned, but this was the second time I've heard Dani suggest Ian is using it for game.

Janelle and Nicole A had a lengthy check-in, which pleased a lot of past viewer favorite voters. Nicole A told Janelle a lot of things she already knew, including that she thought Janelle and Kaysar were Cody's initial targets, and Cody probably wants Keesha to go this week so he could pull Memphis to his side. Nicole A also said she thought Cody and Tyler were driving things, and she was unsure of her vote but was now leaning towards keeping Keesha. Later Nicole A told David she really wants Kevin to stay. And they agreed Nicole F probably wouldn't work with females. Additional check-ins included Nicole A/Cody, and Kaysar/Christmas, with Kaysar telling her he had nothing to go on so might just vote with the house so he isn't "the idiot odd man out." Janelle and Kaysar compared notes later, which showed us they're still out of many loops. Janelle and Dani also had a check-in, comparing current intel as well as what they knew about everyone's respective prior seasons, which is a lot, and they confirmed they are indeed working together (pre-season alliance). How much and how genuinely they're working together is still hard to tell, though Dani didn't share a number of things in this chat.

The other day I mentioned several of them saying they'd been surprised/scared by Memphis's anger about something. Last night I heard it: he was extremely annoyed that BB wouldn't turn off the lights in Have-not when he wanted to sleep, and he very clearly let them know. So there's that.

Gametalks kept coming in twos and threes, along with chit-chat and snacking, Janelle did Nicole A's makeup, and Kaysar and David had a nice game+life chat. Kevin told Bayleigh he had secured "ride or die" with her, both Nicoles, Da'Vonne, Dani, and he was trying to pull in David, and he said he also has Enzo's vote. That would be the seven he needs, if they do indeed vote Keesha out. That would also put those seven (at least) against Janelle and Kaysar, which is mind-boggling. Imagine going on Big Brother and not wanting to align with Janelle and Kaysar, or forgetting how hard they play when they're targeted. They got new CBS Store water bottles, and their virus tests happened around 8pm, one at a time in Diary. That went pretty quick, and they got a booze delivery when that was done. It was skimpy but it was their first, so we'll take what we can get? But it was so skimpy (2 bottles of wine and six beers), nothing came of it after they finally worked out how to split it up.

Cooking was underway for hours as midnight approached and Ian, Kevin, Memphis, Nicole A were able to eat real food for the first time since moving in. They did a loud countdown -- and feeds went to starfishies, so we missed their feast. That's always a highlight of the week for me no matter who it is, since they eat with such joy after starving for no reason - the show barely even acknowledges Have-nots after the initial room reveal. So boo and hiss for withholding this first feast from us. Feeds came back 40 minutes later, only crumbs were left on the table, and Cody was working Kaysar to try and get him to vote against Keesha.

Day 8 - Wednesday - August 12, 2020

The yard was already closed this morning for tomorrow, so they were back to being locked inside their hamster cage. Many are staying up late but Memphis remains an early to bed/early to rise type. Mornings in the habitat can be a quiet break from everyone and everything for those types, but it also knocks them out of late night gametalks. He and his fellow former sloppers enjoyed breakfast like normal people for the first time, and we heard some retells of their joyous feast last night - it wasn't the same as seeing it. Memphis and Kaysar talked about the vote, saying if they decide to keep Keesha she'll have to put in some work, and they agreed she hadn't thus far. Late last night Da'Vonne told us she trusts Cody, Dani, Enzo, and wishes she'd waited to align with Nicole A and Kevin, but she can't align with Keesha. Also late last night, Nicole A told Kevin she'd like the two of them to work with Janelle, Kaysar, and Ian.

Janelle and Kaysar agreed Keesha should probably go after all, and they'll let her know just before the show. So she'll be the first one to find out how far away from Julie they'll be for eviction interviews, and if they'll be masked.

An activity was announced around 1pm and they all gathered in the living room to answer questions about past seasons, favorite players, etc for 45 minutes or so. That question and answer session streamed live on Facebook, so I'm sure it's available there if you still haven't gotten your feeds to watch it in Flashback. I left Facebook during BB15 and never looked back, so I don't have a direct link for today's Q&A, but this gives me a chance to remind you all the official show socials are linked on the sidebar to your left. Later, Bayleigh was crying to let off steam, telling Christmas it's hard to be "on" all the time. She and Tyler worked out their drama from their season, which she said they'd never done in person before, and she told him they're good, he doesn't have to apologize to her anymore about all that. Kaysar let Keesha know it didn't look good for her, but gave her some campaign lines to try. Ian told Kevin he has his vote, as did Christmas.

Bayleigh led a yoga class for several of them, and various check-ins continued all over town. Keesha finally did some campaigning to Enzo and Cody (separately), and both were non-committal to her. Dani had a cry after several said she was mean, or her jokes were, and Janelle comforted her. Dani said she didn't want her little girl to hear that, and she wanted to keep her sarcastic humor in check. Kevin transformed into his Anita Veto character for Nicole A and Da'Vonne, which delighted both of them. They all did some shtick and some moves, but together they decided Anita probably shouldn't crash the HOH room in case it could jeopardize any votes. Da'Vonne reminded them about "that girl on season 16" (Joey), who was on the block and then put on her character Alex, and was then evicted.

Waffling and extreme overanalysis of the vote carried on everywhere, like it does on a Wednesday, along with convo retells and tattling, mostly about Janelle and about Da'Vonne, and general chaos. For a while there an actual possibility of a flip that would result in Kevin walking the plank to Julie's new boudoir tomorrow rather than Keesha, but like most Wednesdays, it cycled back around and likely won't happen. Janelle was relieved of her star at midnight, but no feeds were on that. Cutting us off from midnight relief events is looking like a bad habit this year, and I hope it doesn't stick.

Hooray for a season at all, in the midst of this global pandemic, and while I never want any vets, I can understand why they went with all vets this summer as it eliminated all the travel and meetings involved in the usual casting process. But super big ups and double hooray for giving us a live move-in and first night feeds! We've never had that, other than OTT. Most seasons are pretty much set up in that pivotal first week and for once, we won't have to piece together what happened from skewed edits and feeds retells. As far as how things will unfold - old school versus new, males versus females, existing alliances and grudges, we'll just have to wait and see. But after a very long wait, no communications, and many unknowns, we're finally starting at what would be the halfway point in most seasons. Production is using extra anti-virus precautions and we can just hope nobody in the cast or crew gets sick, or that California and/or LA don't close down businesses again, vaporing BB22 unfinished like happened with BB Canada 8.

Big Brother 22 SEASON FAQ
Day 1 move-in and CBS premiere is August 5
Day 85 Finale is October 28

Feeds are streamed by CBS, and Flashback is accessible via All Access subscription. Call 888-274-5343 for account help, including cancellation.

The CBS app (by CBS Interactive) plays BB air shows and other CBS shows, as well as feeds, or you can use your browser to watch feeds on mobile devices. The same All Access link used to subscribe will lead to the feeds viewing page if you're already signed up.

BB22 finalist prizes are the same: $500k for the winner and (presumably) $50k for 2nd place. Rumors say the others get $40k for showing up.

The habitat has 94 HD cameras (no change) and 113 microphones (no change).

The recorded in-house announcements are the voice of producer Don Wollman. He and Julie Chen are the only staffers who have been there since Big Brother 1.
