The Day After kicked off quietly, and included T'kor asking Cam with Kimo present about the (partial) Collective meeting she and Kimo missed last night. Cam told them Quinn apologized again and pledged his allegiance to Collective, and Cedric said he'd gone ahead with putting up Makensy rather than Quinn because he was looking out for the alliance. Kenney told Cam when he first heard about Tucker wanting to stay on the block with Quinn replacing him, he thought it was a bad idea but didn't say so. (He acted like he thought it was a great idea at the time.) And he said they'd be crazy to keep him over Tucker if those two stay on the block, and more of those tired loops. For a guy who keeps talking about "what the fans want" Kenney has zero self-awareness about his on/off quit talk. Chelsie continued her ongoing battle with Cam's hygiene by giving us a tour of his dirty socks and laundry to us. The day continued quietly, which was welcome after yesterday's full shred chaos. There was a lot of laying around, and a group chat about cuddling and kissing.Brooklyn told Cedric that Makensy was "trying to start stuff today" to get Cedric out, along with Tucker, and Cedric said he wasn't surprised. Joseph suggested keeping Kenney to Kimo, who said he was unsure on that, especially after yesterday. Kimo told Joseph childhood feelings of not being included were coming up for him, and Joseph said he understood that. Kimo then perked up and talked about Hawaii, and about having all of them visit. Then he dipped again, with tears, when Tucker came along and gave him a very long hug. They exchanged mutual declarations of trust, which they said extended to Rubina and T'kor. Cam came in during that hug and just stood there, the awkward oozing out of him almost visibly. He patted Tucker on the back, and moved along. Tucker said he trusts Kimo more than anyone and has loved him on a human level since Week 1. And he said "just keep thinking about us ripping it up in West Hollywood bro, we're gonna tear that ass up! Metaphorically and physically." Kimo responded with "whoa! I mean.. okay?" Tucker later tried to revive a little bee in the yard, and Quinn told us he wants an F2 with Brooklyn. The day dragged on, they did family dinner, and feeds went to fishies. There were a couple mid-sized earthquakes 90 or so miles away, which were felt by many near the habitat. Feeds came back 90 minutes later and hamsters were all in the yard, on and around the hammock. There was no talk about having felt a quake but maybe they were outside so staff could check equipment, or maybe it was unrelated. Regardless, they were in kumbaya mode and everyone said who they missed the most from home. Makensy said her brother because "he's my soulmate, literally" and "I hate that I have to marry another man because he is my number one man." Okay then. Chelsie then stirred the pot by having a public session of Chelsie's Predictions, requiring everyone to give two names for who they thought viewers would put on the block. It was fun and good-natured, but obviously pointed in a subtle way. Front-runners were Quinn, Rubina, Cam. Many said themselves, including Quinn. From there they played a game of Mafia, led dramatically by Tucker, then a short break inside, and more rounds of Mafia led by Kimo, Cam, Cedric, and maybe others after I shut them off. The yard will close early Wednesday morning. I expect the viewer vote will open at the end of Wednesday's episode, and I'm guessing it'll run until the following morning with results announced on Thursday's live show. Day 23 - Wednesday - August 7, 2024Overnight included Quinn accidentally dropping Pentagon name to Kimo and T'kor, and Cedric accidentally dropping his allies' names to T'kor. Quinn slept in Have-not room because his sleepwalking and talking was disturbing his roomies. Morning brought immune house target Angela and active house target Kenney together, where she seemed to be grilling him about his job lie? Or maybe just friendly chat over coffee. Both casual and whispery chats raged on, like they do, as the hamsters started another series of inside days.We found out Tuesday's special episode will be an early/mid-season clips show, plus appearances by Jag, Taylor, and Cody C, and a reveal of "BBAI's next game-changing surprise." And on feeds, we found out from Quinn talking to Brooklyn and Leah that his power does include picking the renom, if one is needed. Chelsie gave us another tour of Cam's dirty socks, and she also did another lengthy Chelsie's Predictions show. A group convo about crushes took place, and Kimo got a makeover from Rubina, with T'kor as consultant. While the veto episode was on, with its shockface-filled veto meeting, they got a delivery of Mexican food and booze. The viewer renom vote opened (link for that is on the sidebar to your left), and it was confirmed the winner (loser) will be revealed live on Thursday's show. And the post-veto meeting fallout was also teased for tomorrow, so it should be a good episode. Back to the present, after eating they played Mafia. Again. And again. And again, with bad accents, and big personalities that go back into hiding when they finish playing. Family game night finally wrapped up and they returned to the bigger game. A partial Collective meeting agreed not to vote out the viewer-voted renom, and if the final vote is Tucker vs Kenney, they'd vote out Tucker. They said Kenney would then quit and it'd be a two-fer. (Are they not paying attention? Kenney would take that as a win, and that's when he wants to stay. His next quit talk won't come along unless/until he stays and loses the HOH comp.) T'kor and Kimo also agreed to vote out Tucker if he's up against Kenney, and they said Tucker and Rubina are more of a showmance than Matt and Makensy were, and that's not good for them. Rubina expressed some concerns to Leah and Makensy, maybe about having feelings for Tucker? The two of them then had a cuddle session, with a kiss on the cheek from Tucker. Rubina said she wasn't trying to give America what they want, and Tucker said he was fighting [against it] every second. Rubina scoffed at that, playfully. That was followed by a few more clinches and face/neck smooches, but no mouth-to-mouth contact (yet). Quinn told us he appreciates Joseph being there as a fellow superfan, but he [Quinn] will still have a longer deep dive with Taran than Joseph will. Brooklyn let out a scream worthy of a slasher movie when Chelsie successfully jumpscared her by hiding in the closet. Chelsie rolled out onto the floor in hysterics as Brooklyn recovered. New/unusual gametalk duos included Leah and Joseph, Makensy and Quinn, and Makensy and Tucker. Tucker told Makensy he didn't want to commit to any alliances until he sees how the vote plays out, if he stays on the block (and stays in the house). Brooklyn and Chelsie agreed they needed to warn Rubina and Makensy that Tucker would be going if he stays on the block against Kenney. Quinn told us he couldn't believe Makensy had asked him who he wanted to evict, since Tucker was "shaking with rage" at Quinn in the post-veto meeting shenanigans. (Those will be tomorrow's show.) Tucker pointed out comps have been about fixing Ainsley glitches, and this week they recharged her. The uncertainty due to the vote, on top of the unpredictable AI Arena, has made all of them apprehensive and unsure how to proceed. I think Quinn will probably win (lose) the vote and go on the block with Kenney and Tucker, but it's kind of a tossup which of the three might win the Arena. It'll probably come down to what the comp is this week, and if clown shoes are involved. A very interesting observation, especially since the next-stage AI twist will be announced Tuesday. Julie did a pre-season tease that she'll be "more involved than ever" and while pre-season teases often amount to nothing, maybe Ainsley will be replaced by Chenbot.
