Day 6 - Sunday - July 21, 2024
In overnight news, Leah, Lisa, Quinn took advantage of having the backyard to charge some water under the full moon. Their jars were arranged around Lisa's veto necklace, which she'd worn most of the evening. Thanks to @mandapants_x for the screencap and for catching this important event.
This morning, Lisa visited Angela for a lengthy rehash/peptalk that was alternately encouraging and condescending. Angela practically begged Lisa to be her friend and her person in there, and Lisa gave Angela "homework" for how to behave today.
They did their swimsuit photo shoot so that's checked off the list, and those pics should come out in a day or two.
** Tonight's show was changed to 90 minutes the other day, but posted schedules didn't update that, and breaking political news could further change the primetime TV schedule, so keep an eye out for updates.
Lisa made some rounds, apparently having self-appointed herself as assistant HOH, and then met with Angela again. Angela said she'd probably still put up Matt as renom, and that he was expecting it, but she wanted and expected Kenney to go home. Lisa suggested if she puts up a pawn instead that she warn them first, as well as informing the voters. Angela's marathon apology tour carried on when she finally met with Matt. They wanted a witness but got no volunteers, so they did it in the bathroom so people would hear if things got aggressive. Angela started with an apology for her rant and especially for bringing his mom into it. Matt wasn't overly receptive at first but came around and also apologized, and he sang his mom's praises and said he's playing for her. They rehashed everything at very great length, and hugged, and Angela stressed she knew Matt wouldn't go home if she does put him up, but acknowledged there are secret twists in play and she'd hate it if they resulted with Matt's eviction. Matt pushed for T'kor as renom, and when they finally wrapped up, Angela muttered "are you kidding me" to us.
Matt told Tucker he'd suggested to Angela that Tucker be her renom pawn, and Tucker then went off to Cam with another major anti-Matt rant. He's very (unintentionally) comical with those, which is rarely the case with anti-hamster rants. And Tucker said he was certain Matt has one of the powers. Angela watched the spyscreen and narrated for us, which was helpful since she was watching areas that weren't on feeds. She saw Cam taking T'kor into Have-not, and became giddy when she thought she'd figured everything out, including that Cam was telling T'kor she'd be going up as renom pawn and/or that she'd volunteered to do so. Cam then joined her in HOH to discuss things including her breakfast show, and they were joined by T'kor. Leah held a parody house meeting for several of them, saying "it's no secret the house is divided, there's two types of people in this fucking world, rats and mice. I'm not afraid to expose anyone. I'm a mouse, my pronouns are mice/mouse." Tucker finally met with Angela. Angela said Kenney will go if it's him versus Matt, and Tucker said Matt would go, and they shared various cracked and often faulty conclusions. Angela wanted T'kor to be assured she wasn't going anywhere, and hoped Tucker would talk her out of volunteering. Tucker urged her to just put up Matt and be done with it.

We learned a lot from Sunday's episode, including Angela/Matt and Tucker/Lisa beefs kicked off from comments shortly after moving in, and that Tucker, Kimo, Cam, Quinn became the Have-nots because Ainsley asked for volunteers. Makensy's power is as she described to Matt and Leah: at the end of veto meeting, she can remove someone from the block and viewers will vote for the replacement. Quinn's power is he can take over someone's HOH, pick the nominees, and an AI avatar of the actual HOH will announce them. He can also spread misinformation or rumors via that fake avatar. Both of their powers can be used once within the first four weeks. And we learned that Quinn told Angela about his power and how it works. That filled in some blanks about their so-far secret partnership and late night check-ins.
Ainsley also told them there'd be three nominees, and the HOH would renom if one comes off with veto. The three will compete live in the AI Arena before the eviction vote, the winner would come off the block, and votes would be between the two remaining nominees as usual. And she said mascots were eligible for the AI Arena comp if they're on the block. She didn't say if any/all of this would continue after this week, or for how long if so.
The HOH comp was New Rule, hosted by Ainsley, with mascots Cedric and Chelsie cheering in microchip costumes. First they had to form themselves into teams of three, and left-outs Makensy and Tucker were eliminated. The following rounds were shuffleboard on a big video table, with different rules for each round. Round 2 winners Kenney, Matt, Quinn eliminated Brooklyn, Kimo, Rubina. Round 3 winners from each trio - Leah, Angela, Kenney - advanced to the fourth/final round, which Angela won as we knew. It was a variation on a standard comp but done in a new and fresh way, and it was equitable for anyone to win. We love to see it.
I missed a lot of feeds during the episode and after, but I don't think anything major happened? Evening included some hot tubbing, general enjoyment of the backyard and balcony, a lot of laundry, and a lot of talk about retaliating against Team Ants. As if they can be defeated. HA! Cedric and Quinn had a check-in, and were joined by Chelsie. They agreed their Pentagon (to be renamed) alliance with Cam and Brooklyn was solid until final five, they could be in other alliances but this five was the priority, and they'd decide together who they should evict depending who's on the block after veto meeting, AI Arena, and possible powers. (Reminder, only three of those five can vote this week.) There was a lot of talk about Angela's chaos, which Quinn participated in (but I suspect he was cringeing inside because I think he was expecting/hoping to go far with her.) Leah explained her undies business to Angela, at length, and showed her some of her 'wears. (See what I did there?) Chelsie and T'kor had a check-in, with a lot of talk about how bad people were playing. T'kor said she'd heard Matt pitched a name to Angela for renom but she didn't know who. Chelsie didn't say it was her, T'kor.
There was so many renom roulette lies and loops I'm not 100% sure who it'll be tomorrow, but I'm guessing Angela will do her promised public apology to Matt, and then tell him to take a seat. Late night check-ins might prove otherwise.
GET YOUR FEEDS! Unfortunately, Flashback has been killed this year, but we made do without it back in the ancient days, and for Canada before they killed feeds, and we can do it again. Get yourself set up so you'll be ready to go when feeds launch Thursday night at 10pm Pacific/1am Eastern (Friday). Feeds will be accessible with the Essential plan as usual: that confusion was caused by corporate miscommunication and faulty press release items, which have been added to the Goof Tally below.
Day 7 - Monday - July 22, 2024
This morning, Quinn told Kimo he has the Deep Fake HOH power and what it does. He said he wants to win HOH next week, use the power to hijack his own HOH to target big threats, and then blame it on Lisa(!). Kimo encouraged him to save it in case it's needed more down the road, and later Kimo helped throw off suspicion about Quinn by telling T'kor he thought Joseph had one of the powers. He also told T'kor about the whole fiasco of Matt suggesting she be the renom, and Tucker told Cam about that. Angela later/finally explained it to T'kor, who mostly responded with a lot of "mm-hmm"-ing.
Lisa used her veto on herself obviously, and Angela put up Matt in her place. (Makensy did not invoke her power.) Afterwards Matt went on various rants about Angela not using his name in her promised veto meeting public apology, and for referencing "his beloved ones" in said apology rather than his mom specifically. He told Lisa that public apology was a condition of him having apologized privately to Angela. And he told Lisa people thought she was working with Angela and he asked if she knew Matt was going up. Lisa denied that (truthfully), but got heated by it and even more so when Matt said a lot of people think she has a power. They went back and forth for hours (literally), with Lisa turning her safety and Matt's nomination around to be about her, and Matt eventually went relatively quiet as Lisa ranted on and on. Matt eventually pointed out she was maybe being a little selfish, and said Lisa could/should have picked him to play veto instead of Brooklyn, and Lisa eventually told him to keep her name out of his mouth. She later moved on to others to run her loops, like she did when she was first nominated.
Makensy told Lisa she can't show it but she was ecstatic she wasn't on the block, even though Matt was. Matt asked Quinn if he could count on his vote if he's still on the block after AI Arena and Quinn said yes. Leah announced she was running out of stories and routines/bits, already. Kenney announced to a kitchen group he felt so close to Matt that he might throw the AI Arena comp to him so he could come off the block. Angela launched another but lesser kitchen tirade on him, saying Matt is not his son, and he shouldn't lay down and die for him. Retells of that made the rounds of course, and Quinn said he's never hanging out in the kitchen again as he's always there to witness fights. He later told us he was going to go get a sunburn so his skin matches his heart, as he gets heartburn after every fight. He also acknowledged he was playing messy, he was saying yes too much, and the game wasn't going well for him. He said all this good-naturedly with smiles, which is just how we (I) like it. Most of them gathered to sing Happy Birthday to Kenney's 8-year-old daughter Savannah, and to his friend or relative Crystal, and his ex-wife Christie.
Makensy and Tucker hung out on the backyard balcony for awhile, with talk about showmances in general, and Tucker saying if he gets to Day 50 he'll be ready to get in one, that he needs some cuddles. The whole convo wasn't overtly flirty, but kind of. Most of them split into various conversation groups for chit-chat of various topics. Tucker and Kimo talked for a long time in Have-not - well, Tucker did most of the talking, on a million topics with anti-Lisa and anti-Matt interludes. Kimo tried to ask a couple times if they could lock in the votes in case he stays on the block and Tucker said the votes are there, but he kept forgetting Chelsie and Cedric won't vote. They did some packing since Have-nots will end at midnight and they can move downstairs, and the rest of them agreed to wait til midnight for spaghetti dinner with them. A shared trauma alliance was talked about comprised of Cam, Kimo, Quinn, Tucker, tentatively called Mr Anderson. Brooklyn, Cam, Cedric, Chelsie, Leah, Matt, Makensy, Rubina did a hands-in in the pantry to formalize Barbershop alliance, which is fake for some of them. Kenney did some campaigning here and there, and had a friendly clear-the-air convo with Angela.
The rest of the night was various gametalks - some truths/some lies, and some (loud) group activities and games. Midnight finally rolled around but feedmasters withheld the moment from us. I'd forgotten they've done that for the Have-not feast sometimes in recent seasons. Boo. But we rejoined them a few minutes later. Quinn brought something down from upstairs that made them cheer, stashed booze or White Claws that were saved for them maybe? The starving guys cheers'd and dug into their food with gusto. None of them complained about stupid slop this week, so props to all four for that.
GET YOUR FEEDS to get the real story. It's a very messy, very fun season so far.

Boo for taking away live move-in and first night feeds, but yay for not making us wait 6-7-8 days like some seasons. Boo for having complex twists that we don't even have the details for yet, but yay for the potential that those twists might prevent an early power alliance setting up a season steamroll. Boo for not having mascots in costumes, but yay for that too because it's rough for costumees in the first week. All that equals a resounding neutral, with an added WTF for having a human pretend to be an AI entity. That's so backwards. Mid-week upgrade to ups because the twists are bonkers but new and interesting, and potentially explosive, and because this cast is delivering extremely fun feeds even though most of them aren't extra-entertaining individually.

Won: TBA
HOH 1 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0
Angela Murray - 50
Real estate agent Syracuse, UT (orig Long Beach, CA)
Ups for winning the first HOH from the precarious Older Mom casting slot positon, and for making it a sloppy, messy reign. Her Saturday breakfast show was an excellent start to the season for Fun Feeds fans, and it looks like she may come out of it relatively unscathed? We'll see. And she's a uterine cancer survivor so big ups for that! #FuckCancer

Won: TBA
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0
Brooklyn Rivera - 34
Business administrator Dallas, TX (orig Covington, GA)
She seems to have some savvy about this game, but I don't know if that's her own or if she got some coaching from friend Aaryn. She and Angela have a moms F2 deal already, but that didn't ultimately work out so great for Helen and Elissa. She was way too perky and enthusiastic about organizing and hosting the talent show, but somebody has to bring the energy and a lot of them aren't.
|

Won: TBA
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 1
Cam Sullivan-Brown - 25
Physical therapist Bowie, MD
I don't see a lot of him but he seems to be in a good position right now, in a solid trio with Cedric and Chelsie, and they're embedded in various bigger alliances.
|

Won: Week 1 mascot/can't compete or vote
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0
Cedric Hodges - 21
Former Marine Boise, ID (orig Running Springs, CA)
He's struggling some with feeling emotional and feeling bad about that, but maybe that's his Marine background acting up. Others have been encouraging and supporting him when he feels down and that's good. It's tough to start off in this with no chance of power or even a vote, but it worked out well for both him and Chelsie, and they ended up having a free pass week.
|

Won: Week 1 mascot/can't compete or vote
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0
Chelsie Baham - 27
Nonprofit director Rancho Cucamonga, CA
See Cedric re mascot status. I think she's done more to help herself down the road than Cedric, setting herself up well socially this week when she was in no danger.
|

Won: TBA
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0
Joseph Rodriguez - 30
Video store clerk Tampa, FL
He seemed like he was in a prime position at first but then he slipped a bit. But overall I think he knows what he's doing in there and he should go far.
|

Won: TBA
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0/0 - HN 0
Kenney Kelley - 52
Former undercover cop Boston, MA
His game and people reads are ridiculously bad, and he talks like he knows everything about BB when he clearly doesn't. He might end up providing a lot of unintentional humor if he sticks, but it doesn't seem like he'll stick for long.
|

Won: TBA
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0/0 - HN 1
Kimo Apaka - 35
Mattress sales rep Hilo, HI
He seems like one of the nicest and most genuine people in there, and it's tough to land on the block immediately for no real reason so it's fair and understandable he's been a bit gloomy here and there. But when asked what his ideal scenario for next week would be, he said 'I don't know, I guess someone who'd protect me?' So it seems he'll be a passive player and will go wherever the flow takes him, which is often deep into the jury phase.
|

Won: TBA
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0
Leah Peters - 26
VIP cocktail server Miami, FL (orig Pittsburgh, PA)
She likes to talk, a lot, often about herself, and often with the most random and funny topics. That might get old soon but for now she's bringing the stories and amusement that few others are. And she's our designated 'old tweets' hamster for that fun side game that's become a tradition in recent seasons.
|

Won: TBA
HOH 0 - Veto 1 - Noms 1/0/0 - HN 0
Lisa Weintraub - 33
Celebrity chef Los Angeles, CA
She was shocked to be the first nominee and made no secret about it, which is a fair reaction, but she ran so many loops and held so many meetings about it, it felt like a bit of entitlement was in place. Then she won the veto so all that was for nothing, but kudos to her for that: it's rare for a woman to win the first one. Upgraded to ups for making another marathon stink after the veto meeting, despite having secured her own safety.
|

Won: America's Veto for Weeks 1-4
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0
Makensy Manbeck - 22
Construction project manager Houston, TX
She does nothing for me, but I have a feeling she's going to stick around a long, long time. Props for winning the veto power but wow she shouldn't have told Matt about it. That's going to put her in a very tricky position in a few days when he lands on the block.
|

Won: TBA
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/1 - HN 0
Matt Hardeman - 25
Tech sales rep Roswell, GA (orig Loganvilla, GA)
I'm torn here. His first couple days holding court in the pantry and being manic made for great screenshots and gifs, but then he did a 180 and cried because a 50-year-old woman yelled at him, and he reeled himself way in. He's potentially good entertainment in an unintentional way so I'd be okay if he sticks around another week or two, but not much longer.
|

Won: Deep Fake HOH for Weeks 1-4
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 1
Quinn Martin - 25
Nurse recruiter Omaha, NE (orig Lawton, OK)
I think he may be driving the game but he does it very quietly and very subtly so it's hard to be sure. He's probably in the best position at the moment and he seems to know everything that's going on, and there's a lot going on.
|

Won: TBA
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0
Rubina Bernabe - 35
Event bartender Los Angeles, CA
I don't see a whole lot of her either - feeds have concentrated a lot on Angela, Matt, Makensy - but her talent show performance 'my talent is something rare, I will be shutting the fuck up' was the best part of the show and easily earns her ups.
|

Won: TBA
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0
T'kor Clottey - 23
Crochet business owner Atlanta, GA (orig Chicago, IL/London, UK)
She's repeatedly said she's slow to open up to people but she's getting there, and I like what we're seeing. She's smart, game savvy, and fun, and she's gradually setting herself up to be in a good spot going forward.
|

Won: TBA
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 1
Tucker Des Lauriers - 30
Marketing and sales exec Brooklyn, NY (orig Boston, MA)
Easy ups for spewing the most random and often wrong factoids, for being recklessly loud and open about disliking Lisa and Matt, and for being generally weird and unpredictable. He's repeatedly said he doesn't want to join any alliances, and he's only teamed up solidly with Joseph, and less solidly with Angela. We'll see how that works out for him. If/when he ends up as HOH I think we'll be in for a very wild ride.
|

Won: Control of the game
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0
Ainsley/AInsley - 24
Surf shop worker San Diego, CA
She lost two votes to join as #17 so reverted to her robotic persona aka Artificial Intelligence Network Self-Learning Entity, and became a comp host.
