Feeds will start after Thursday's show ends in the west, so 10pm Pacific/1am Eastern.Julie welcomed the first eight and sent them into their new home in two groups, the first being Tucker, Angela, Kimo, Chelsie. They did a little "after you" - "no, after you" dance at the door, but Tucker achieved his stated goal of being the first to enter, in hopes of breaking the curse. (Yes, Tamar Braxton broke it on Celebs 2, and Bayleigh Pelham broke it for Canada's final season this spring, but it still stands for civilian USA BB.) They were followed shortly after by Cam, Rubina, Joseph, Makensy. Julie told them they had the option of voting in a 17th hamster, named Ainsley, and they watched her self-intro. She's 24, single, San Diego, works in a surf shop and has been a BB fan since she was a kid so she implored them to vote her in. Yes votes were Angela, Joseph, Makensy, Rubina, and Cam, Chelsie, Kimo, Tucker voted no, making a 4-4 tie which meant she wouldn't move in as a competitor. But wait, she's not an actual person, and (AI)nsley stands for Artificial Intelligence Network Self-Learning Entity. She told them she'll stick around even though she won't be a 17th player, yes voters will compete for a significant power, and no voters for a severe game downgrade. But wait again, was she an actual person pretending to be AI? That'd be a switch. (See Links of the Day below.) Both comps were new, colorful, and equitable. Yes voters Angela, Joseph, Rubina, Makensy played Color Calibration individually, where they were spun around rapidly and had to memorize a color-change sequence, then dizzily run to the various color posts and punch in the sequence in 30 seconds. No voters Tucker, Kimo, Cam, Chelsie played Fear Facer, where they had to stick their head into a tube in a box filled with bugs, snakes, etc then unscramble letters from the box walls to match an emotion sign, and hang the correct sign on the box. They had to do this with four boxes/words in 90 seconds. Their votes were secret as were the results from both comps, but Julie told us Makensy won the advantage, and Chelsie will have a disadvantage. (It was later questioned out here if Makensy actually did win, but it would seem she did: the edit presented it in a way that stressed the time of their first wrong answer, rather than their fourth right one.) And Julie told us we'll find out more about their advantage and disadvantage on tomorrow's show, when the other eight are introduced and face their own challenges or whatever. Meanwhile, GET YOUR FEEDS! Unfortunately, Flashback has been killed this year, but we made do without it back in the ancient days, and for Canada before they killed feeds, and we can do it again. Get yourself set up so you'll be ready to go when feeds launch Thursday night at 10pm Pacific/1am Eastern (Friday). Feeds will be accessible with the Essential plan as usual: that confusion was caused by corporate miscommunication and faulty press release items, which have been added to the Goof Tally below. As always as we go, IF YOU MISSED what came before, check my previous episode, always linked up top or from my season index, and get the feeds to get the real story! And/or to watch prior BB USA seasons, plus a ton of other shows and movies as well. Day 3 - Thursday - July 18, 2024The second group's intro packages ran on the second premiere show, Julie welcomed them to the stage, and told them eight others had already moved in and were isolated individually. She sent them into the house in groups consisting of Quinn, T'kor, Matt, Leah, followed by Cedric, Lisa, Kenney, Brooklyn. From there, they climbed into the Hollywood Squares apparatus where they had the same intro from Ainsley as the first group, and were given the option to vote her into the house or not. Even though the first group had already voted no. What if there was a split decision? But there wasn't. Only Leah and Quinn voted yes, and Lisa, T'kor, Matt, Cedric, Brooklyn, Kenney voted no. Like last night, each set of voters played a comp to determine an advantage for the Yes voters and a disadvantage for the No voters. I missed the title and time limit (sorry), but Yes voters had to install four chips into a mainframe in a moving room. No voters played Facial Recognition where they had to use their faces to move discs through a plexiglass maze in 60 seconds. The two groups were then brought together, and many hugs and much hubbub ensued. Ainsley told them the Yes vote comp winners (Makensy and Quinn) would be secretly informed that they'd won and what they'd won. (Julie told us those powers were titled Deep Fake HOH and America's Veto, but not what/how they worked: that will be on Sunday's show.) And Ainsley told them all that Chelsie and Cedric had lost the No vote comps and were now mascots: neither can play for HOH or veto this week, or vote, but they are eligible to be nominated for eviction. Oof. And now we wait for feeds, which will be delayed from the announced 10pm Pacific/1am Eastern start due to the RNC delaying this episode's running time in the west. Nevermind they already posted press pics from the episode before it even started in Pacific or Mountain timezones. The feeds countdown switched over to adoptable anipals at 10pm Pacific/BB time, but we had to wait until 11.15pm for the feeds to show up. When they did, we learned Angela was the first HOH, and that noms hadn't happened yet. Those will be tomorrow, and we'll be on our usual schedule. (I'd posted that info minutes earlier - my sources have been spotty this pre-season, but accurate.) There was talk about there being four nominees, possibly from the Deep Fake HOH? I don't know yet. Makensy (who's being called MJ) was scheming against Angela and may be showmancing with Matt, Lisa asked Cedric if she could sniff his lotion, Cedric and Joseph were saying Kenney didn't fit in, and Joseph said several of them didn't think much of Matt. A number of alliances have been formed but first days' alliances rarely last. We'll get all that sorted out as we go, with massive help from @Dolffica and @89razorskate20. Chelsie, Leah, Matt, Makensy, Quinn formalized an alliance of six, to include Joseph. Various of that group gossiped, strategized, and goofed in the pantry for most of the night. Angela and Joseph talked as if they'd become close, and were potentially working with Cam, Cedric, Chelsie, Leah, Rubina. They discussed nom options, and it sounded like Kenney might be the first target, and might go on the block with Lisa, and Kimo as a pawn. Maybe Deep Fake HOH will make the fourth nom? T'kor talked with Joseph about being slower to open up with new people than some. There had been some talk from others about being unsure where she stood, so hopefully she gets on that before she's left on the sidelines. Angela talked to herself/us about Tucker, Matt, Makensy trying to form a "strong person" group, and she added "shit!" Have-nots are back (ugh) and Cam, Kimo, Quinn, Tucker were the first sloppers. The fishies are back for unscheduled feeds blocks, @Feeds_Bot is back, whispering is back, Don Wollman is back for the in-house announcement tapes, the ants are already back, and WE ARE BACK! As usual on opening night, it's a lot to take in and figure out, and I'm pacing myself. I skipped all the cast interviews and while I have a good idea who's who, I'm not quick with all the names yet. We'll get there. GET YOUR FEEDS!
