Daily Feeds Recaps
Day 47 - Sunday - August 22, 2021
They were woken early for a Sunday, a little after 8am, and then feeds went to adoptable anipals a little after 10am. There's no way to know why until they come back but it could be for maintenance to fix the photo wall, which had gone dark on the entire left side. When feeds returned the photo wall looked fixed, and they'd done an activity for American Red Cross.
Reminder you can easily and painlessly donate $10 to American Red Cross disaster relief by texting RED CROSS to 90999. They're currently working their asses off helping with the NorCal fires and other disaster areas. They're always there when needed - it could be you next time.
Tiffany gave Derek X a big hug and whispered it was a "go fight" hug rather than a good-bye hug. Hannah joked(?) to Derek X that she'll tell SarahB "I'm about to blow up your game unless you put me on the block." Chit-chat included Derek F dissing Jozea again, saying "I call him Ho-zea because he's a ho" and adding his ex was Derek F's gym coach. Jozea wasted no time to tweet he'll meet Derek F in the ring. Kyland explained Hamilton to Hannah, Azah talked about her drunken bike group, and a group discussion about dating included talk about seeing alums from their areas on dating apps as well as catfish using alums' pics.
They finally got the yard which always makes for more relaxed hamsters and some breaks from constant gametalk. Hannah, Xavier, Derek F did a Hot Takes with Hannah show while the High Roller/nominations show was on CBS, and then the selfie camera came out so extended interviews were held as dinner prep was going on. As of early evening, Derek X will still be going up in Xavier's place tomorrow. It's what Kyland wants. Derek X made a pitch of sort to SarahB but didn't seem to get anywhere.
SarahB's girls night happened, and she opened her HOH wine for that. Derek X and Xavier played egg toss downstairs, which the girls watched on the HOH spyscreen. The girls also rehashed Frenchie's reign of chaos and compared notes on Frenchie's Kisses and the various (S)laughterhouse alliances. Xavier and Kyland discussed whether to cut Tiffany or Hannah first, once they reach endgame.
They got a booze delivery at midnight - unheard of, and surprising since the regular Sunday booze deliveries didn't happen for the last two weeks. The guys hid it and made a big production of it, and they had the girls chase them around to find it. Boys and girls came back together in the backyard and got loud playing their usual guessing games, and Have-nots Derek X and Kyland enjoyed some nice slop chips.

Day 46 - Saturday - August 21, 2021
Alyssa, Azah, Derek F were picked to play for veto along with SarahB, Claire, Xavier. Those picks don't ensure Derek X's exit on Thursday, but things definitely don't look good for him, and SarahB was happy he wasn't picked. To add insult to his injury, he'll be hosting the comp. Apparently Alyssa and Derek F have safety this week after Roulette (that will be confirmed on Sunday's show) so it seems odd their chips were in the box, but here we are. The inevitable speculation took place about what the comp would be, along with studying days and events. Derek F and Xavier talked about possible hiding places if it's Hide the Veto, and Tiffany joked to Claire that she'll move all her stuff to the pantry to keep it safe if it is that comp. Tiffany also told Claire "this week is weird" and said she hadn't talked game with anyone.
Hannah and Derek X found SarahB's letter and decided to read the end section that SarahB said was just for her when she read it aloud Thursday night. Derek X said "if it's not game, don't even tell me" and Hannah didn't, saying "it wasn't even that personal, I thought it was gonna be like 'great job being America's Player'." They then apologized to us, with Hannah adding it was just because SarahB sketches her out. She had a little trouble refolding it the same as it was, but she got it. Then they made little obstacle comps in the poker/skybridge room with Claire for a little spider they found. And then Derek X and Claire talked various possible veto comps, and Derek X told her to "listen to the directions intently" and he coached her on ways to win some of them. We know but they don't that if Claire takes herself off the block, Derek X will take her place and join Britini at the jury house.
Feeds were down from 3.19pm until just before 9pm for their veto comp. Xavier won, and did a bathroom celebration dance with Alyssa. They were wearing safari-type outfits, and it was a dominos theme race, timed, with prizes and punishments depending which route they chose. Non-players didn't watch. They had to choose three punishments in order to win veto so along with the ability to take himself off the block this week, Xavier also lost all his BB Bucks; and Strategy Shutdown: he'll go into solitary Wednesday evening and be released when it's his turn to vote Thursday; and he'll be third nominee next week unless he wins HOH. If he does win HOH, he'll be third nominee the following week. If he's taken down, there won't be a replacement. He told us and others he's fine with the solitary, calling it "alone time" though he was surprised to hear he'd probably get a bucket for a toilet. (It's been awhile but I think they give them something more sanitary than an open bucket, like a camp toilet.)
Derek F got $7,500 and additional BB Bucks, though it's unclear how many. He did say he'll have enough to play Coin of Destiny next week but he's lied to them about how many Bucks he's got. We'll find out on the show(s). Since Derek F will apparently be able to play for the "anonymous" HOH takeover next week, SarahB was reconsidering booting Derek X since he'll also be able to play it. Unofficial co-HOH Kyland is likely to continue his original agenda of getting Derek X gone. Hannah told Derek X she'd offer to go up as pawn against Claire so Derek X wouldn't have to be the renom.
Tiffany began her rounds, like she does, telling Derek F it was fine he went for the cash and nobody will mind (they will definitely remember things like that at the end though). When Tiffany got to Claire, who was showering, Claire broke down and kicked herself for not going for third nominee. She said this was the second time she'd cried in there, the first being earlier today in Diary. Tiffany told her not to cry or she would too. Hannah and Kyland sat down to speed/stealth whisper strategize.
Other items in the comp included Veto Disadvantage, the meaning of which wasn't specified, and two weeks solo Have-not. It's a lot to sort out and there may have been more items won/lost than I was able to pick up: if so, I'll catch it up when the show airs. I'm saying that a lot lately - this season is complicated.

Ratings - Kyland Sucked Up All the Oxygen edition
Ratings are based on Kyland
Noms count: original/renom / HR: High Roller result

I am often confused by the way they spin the feeds stories into show edits, but Wednesday's OTEV show had a few glaring omissions that made no sense at all. One, they neglected to mention or even hint that the target had shifted from Claire to Britini because it was guessed (correctly) that Britini had gotten 100 BB Bucks, and she banked them, while Claire earned 50 and spent them. And two, they made it appear that The Deal between Britini and Kyland was an actual, legit deal when it was not. I have no doubt Britini believed it was legit (thanks to Kyland's convoluted word salads), so her shock and outrage at going on the block were perfectly understandable. However, again, Kyland never agreed on the safety deal she pitched to him, even though the Wednesday show implied he had.
Three, why haven't they stressed Cookout's underlying mission of finally having Black finalists in civilian BB USA? Da'Vonne stated it so eloquently last year, but this season it's coming across to casuals as 'just another big alliance' steamrolling their way to the end. (I'm not acknowledging the racist 'fans' complaints, but they sure do have a lot.) Every Cookout member has said at various times on feeds just how much the bigger picture means. Unless I missed it, that part seems to have been overlooked in the edits, along with their individual challenges within the game because they are putting that goal first. Maybe these things will be cleared up on Thursday's show.
Update: None of these things were cleared up on Thursday's show.

1st juror - 6th evicted - Day 44
She went on the block four times, and she ranted, cried, and was a pretty bad sport about it. She only played the game around noms and voting times, so she didn't understand she kept going OTB because she didn't bother to find out what was going on, or to create allies beyond her Jokers team/roomies. The fact she was up against Cookout didn't help her any, but she could have done a lot more than she did, and she blamed her exit on a broken deal that was never struck. She rapped for Julie, and won a hard-fought veto, and broke in on Alyssa/Christian sexytime in HOH. She seemed to be playing a character much of the time, and she contributed a lot to their many skits and songs.
|

Won: Week 1 Wildcard + safety; Week 3 safety HOH 1 - Veto 2 - Noms 0/1 - HN 2 TEAM KINGS Captain
5th evicted - Day 37
It was tricky to tell him apart from Travis at first, which wasn't helped by Christian changing his hair once or twice a day, and he often sounded like Victor Arroyo when he spoke. But that passed and soon it was easy to tell Christian was the loud one who was super-glued to Alyssa most of the time. He was sometimes fun and seems like a good guy, but he made no secret of his physical abilities, including doing six backflip/burpie combos in a row one day, just because he could. Those abilities were largely what got him the boot, since he also proved he could put them into action, even when he didn't need to.

Won: Nothing HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 1 TEAM ACES Captain
4th evicted - Day 30
Apparently she spent a few hours on Twitter and she selected one of my tweets to complain about being villainized, slut shamed, and hated. My tweet was factual, with a touch of snark, but none of that stuff. Maybe she forgot what she signed up for, and I'm sure she's having a tough re-entry, but after having hate for her flung into my mentions every day (as all updaters get, for each of them) to then get called out publicly for what I didn't do, I'll just go with Mariah's 'I don't know her.'
|

Won: Nothing HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 1 TEAM ACES
3rd evicted - Day 23
At cast reveal I thought international flight attendant would mean great people skills, but no. He came in boasting of charm but it didn't last long. His talk about girls and dating, and his behavior towards several women in there, were problematic and bound to get worse if he'd stayed. He was happy to be Frenchie's lieutenant for the chaotic first week but then Brent turned on him and practically denied ever being with him. He had zero self-awareness about all this and the edits skewered him as they did Frenchie, proving once again if you do clownery, you'll get the clown music.
|

Won: Nothing HOH 1 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 0 TEAM JOKERS Captain
2nd evicted - Day 16
Cast reveal brought controversy plus a major Cody/Derrick mixup, and the feeds opened to him announcing he wouldn't put up a woman or minority, but then he put up Alyssa and Kyland, and it was downhill from there. He did everything a feedster should know not to do: shouting in Diary, talking in cliches, Bomb Squadding, pandering, power-tripping, mistaking BB history items, grandstanding, begging for a viewer save, and threatening to quit. Still, all that gave us a wild ride and super-chaotic first week of feeds that we'd never be able to piece together if we hadn't seen it unfold.
|

Won: Nothing HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/1 - HN 0 TEAM QUEENS
1st evicted - Day 9
I barely know who he was. He dressed in drag (and looked okay doing so), he gave Kyland a birthday lap dance, took his shirt off for his nominee speech, and complained to Julie that white guys with abs are targets. And he didn't do much to prevent his eviction. That's all I got. Aloha.
