Day 24 - Friday - July 30, 2021
Contrary to Hamsterwatchers' majority expectations, Christian and Alyssa didn't get up to much overnight. She'd originally said she wanted to shower up there but didn't, and she didn't sleep over either, announcing she wasn't going to do the sexy on TV. We'll see - the week has just started. Christian asked Xavier how he could put up Hannah has a pawn (against target Whitney) and also arrange a safety deal for next week. And he told Britini since he'll likely be next week's target, he needs someone he can sit next to and be safe, and that was factoring into his decision today. He said he didn't know how to do that, and added "it's gonna be a Kings decision for sure." Britini said that was smart because it was a team comp. (It also will help to reduce her blaming him in case she has to go up again, depending on Wildcard and/or veto outcomes.)
Chuck Ganster and others on Facebook are still copy/pasting my recaps without credit, and probably others' work too. Ridiculous. Get a hobby, Chuck.
Azah and Derek F agreed she'd play this last Wildcard for Team Jokers, against Claire for Queens and Whitney for Aces. Feeds went to anipals for that a little after 10am and returned around 1pm. Claire won and talked to Kyland about it, and how the risk/reward might have played out. She did accept, saying she gets safety this week either way. It sounded like she's safe "until jury" but I'm unclear how or if that also affects her team, and if she can't vote or can't play for HOH or what. Details of the offer will become clear (on Sunday's show if not before), but several congratulated her on making jury, and said anybody would have taken that deal. She won by a wide margin and told Kyland she was happy to have won safety obviously, but also that she's got a comp win now.
Britini retold her Christian convo to Derek F, and noms talks and meetings kicked off. Royal Flush met in HOH, mostly debating Whitney vs Hannah, with Tiffany pushing for Britini, and SarahB was frustrated about so much emphasis on jury votes when she was just trying to make jury at this point. Christian made suggestions of telling Hannah she might go up as a pawn and that Jokers were coming after her, but SarahB pointed out those two statements didn't work together. Christian then did one-on-ones but I think most of the Kings were apprehensive about him doing them solo, and Alyssa checked on him and what had been said between several of them.
Sure enough, Christian's meetings were a popcorn-worthy shambles. He shifted from Whitney/Hannah to Whitney/Britini and back again before he was done. Hannah was up first. Christian kept repeating "the house wants Whitney" and Hannah kept saying she knew that, and then ran logic circles around him. She opened the door for him to say she was going up as pawn but he didn't take the opportunity to admit it, and said he still had a lot of convos to go. Next was Whitney, who said she'd love to work with him, Alyssa, Xavier, Derek X and that would be her "ideal dream team." He also didn't take the opportunity to give her a warning, so she went back downstairs to tell Hannah she wasn't going on the block, so Hannah returned to HOH for another round, and they were joined by Alyssa. Hannah asked if Britini would be the renom if Whitney comes down, and said she'd feel best sitting next to her (Britini) if she has to be on the block Thursday.
Christian then met with Azah, opening with "I don't know what I'm doing!" and a laugh. Next was Derek F who said how non-threatening Jokers were, that they can't win a comp, and he used visual aids (the spyscreen) to point out more worthy targets. Next Christian met with Britini, opening with "gotta get my hands bloody, I'm looking forward to it!" He might change that tune if Whitney comes off the block. Derek X was next, and said if he plays and wins veto, he'll do whatever Christian wants. He might change that tune if Christian doesn't want Hannah replaced. Tiffany was next, and Christian said (without names) that it would be Whitney and Hannah, with Whitney the target, and Tiffany again stressed it was his HOH, it wasn't about what she (Tiffany) wanted, and she once again did her world class shmoozing. Kyland was next and last, and they pretty much just compared notes and confirmed plans.
Christian nominated Whitney and Hannah, as laboriously planned, and the psst-pssting revved up again. Hannah got right into HOH to talk to Christian, which she did well. Whitney tried to get a turn but had to wait, and then Christian brought Team Kings in to rehash, and for Xavier and SarahB to discover the target had shifted from Hannah to Whitney since they met earlier today, and they hadn't been notified. Whitney told Hannah that she'd cuddled Xavier for an hour and she was surprised he hadn't given her a heads up. Tiffany and Claire were next to HOH (sorry again, Whitney), and they stressed their revelation to Alyssa and Christian that most everyone was paired up in duos (which had then led to Tiffany's Cookout partner/pawn plan). They declared themselves yet another foursome, the duos within Royal Flush. Tiffany said they might need a fifth but they'd wait to see, and they agreed Xavier would be good for that slot if needed. They did not come up with a name but they'll think about it. Whitney finally made it to HOH, not happy, as Christian tried to counter her accusations. Meanwhile Xavier told Alyssa that Whitney's blaming her for being on the block.
Whitney griped to Derek F about Kyland having a hand in her nomination because he's got someone on every team that he's tight with. She has no idea Derek F does too. She was clearly bothered by her nom but acted like she wasn't, making it all look so awkward. And she got annoyed at the cameras following her around "now". Derek F griped loudly about being on slop, which he said doesn't fill him up at all, and he was going through canned olives like Enzo went through cough drops. Rehearsals continued for the Big Blue Couch theme singer auditions with singing here and dancing there. Big Blue Couch storylines were also discussed, and that led to Tiffany giving a lap dance to Xavier, with consent. Christian and Alyssa continued holing up in HOH talking game, snuggling, and occasionally making out. Tiffany showed her self-awareness by telling us she now has 15 alliances in there. Xavier said Derek F was playing like Josh, which upset DF, who called Xavier a lawyer again, and Tiffany had a heart to heart with Derek F while Xavier, Britini, others loudly did a softball skit.
Theme singer auditions finally happened. Everyone participated except Christian, Claire, Whitney. Judges were Alyssa, Derek F, Xavier. Tiffany as Tiffy-Toes from Motown was first, belting out a bluesy original; followed by Kyland and Derek X as BBC Rush Hour 4 from Kalamazoo, who did a square dance/hoedown thing with original lyrics; Hannah and Azah as Chaddha and Az, The Brigettes, did a big voiced version with harmony, dance steps, and Febreze can mics; and SarahB and Britini as SarahBrit, BBC superfans, did a show tunes style version with nice harmonies. The judges went to the pantry to deliberate, and awarded the win to The Brigettes, and rightfully so. They all scattered for snacks and ice cream, then returned to the big white couch for another episode of The Big Blue Couch, using bad British accents, but they didn't include the newly-awarded theme song performance, as Azah was in Diary. They did close the show though. After that they continued last night's Animal Mafia game.
Britini ran into the Diary hall wall, Derek F ranted to Alyssa about Whitney and then retold to Azah, and Alyssa retold to Christian, and she slept in HOH.

Day 23 - Thursday - July 29, 2021
The big question today is will we get a glorious blindside for Brent's eviction or not? Last night Derek F tried to tell him he didn't have the votes but Brent still thought he'd have six, and Christian slipped up by making some mention to Brent about three guys going out first. So he should know, but maybe his massive ego won't allow him to believe it.
First thing this morning, Alyssa told Hannah and Whitney that Brent told her he has a secret plan, and she can't trust her own team, they've held meetings without her, and Christian's jealous of how much she trusts Brent. I don't know the timing of when he said that in relation to when he was tipped off, but it's possible we'll get lucky and have a new eviction shockface to add to the gallery.
Sexual innuendoes over breakfast led Whitney to say about Derek X "I made him close his legs, and then I cuddled him, I didn't want to feel the whole egg roll, I just wanted to cuddle him." Xavier said "hold on" and pointed out Whitney was still laughing about it, and even Brent said "yo, and you're trying to cancel me, America?"
Xavier said good-bye to the HOH room aloud, and his named cameras, saying he didn't know if he'd be back in there again or not, and pacing as he gathered his things together. He got emotional and said to the cameras "don't get sad on me, okay, this has to happen" and "accept it, you gotta move on" and "someone else has to come up here and do the things I need them to do without me doing it, it has to be that way." Then he went into the bathroom and discovered Brent was in there - oops. Xavier later said to us/cameras "you don't think he heard any of that, do you?"
Julie opened the show teasing Brent's blindside but in the monitor behind her he looked like he already knew. That could have been a combo of the earlier hints he didn't really pick up, or more likely they let him know before the show that he was done. After all of Britini's dramatics about her second nomination, the show barely acknowledged that she was on the block: the edit was all about Brent, and it wasn't pretty.
They ran a complicated segment about all the complicated plans for future targets, but they didn't touch on the Cookout's partner/pawn plan which was the real takeaway from this past week. Britini started a rap but switched to shoutouts and boilerplate "keep me," and Brent's speech was a word salad of some of his cliches. He was evicted unanimously, Julie finally pronounced Azah's name correctly, and Derek F once again flubbed the five-word voting line. Julie gave Brent a longer than usual QA and while she didn't really grill him, he buried himself deeper and deeper.
The HOH comp was Pier Pressure, played as teams. They had to run one at a time to assemble a 3-D surfboard puzzle, with a timer running. If any player's timer ran out before they were back home, their team would be eliminated. Julie told us, and Heath and crew surely told them, that the HOH would be the person who first put the final puzzle piece in place and hit their buzzer.
It was fast, frenzied, and very loud as everyone shouted to coach their current player with their puzzle placement. We had a quick flash of some prior season's ancient fishies as someone cussed, and the cameras were on Derek X working on Team Aces puzzle when Julie announced that Team Kings had won, with Christian the new HOH. Later Christian and Alyssa said they hadn't understood how the HOH would be determined and thought they'd have to pick themselves within their team.
Julie told us but not them that Sunday's show would have the final Wildcard comp (which will be played tomorrow), meaning this is the last week for teams, and that next Thursday would be an endurance comp on the feeds, so hooray for that!
Feeds came back about 10 minutes after the east coast show wrapped, and Derek F and Britini were carb and general food loading as they expected to be Have-nots, along with Azah. Derek F shoveled down a good serving of leftover pasta before cooking a frozen pizza, and he said he figured Team Jokers were likely to be palms, in the best misuse of pawn since BB5 Cowboy's pond.
They all shared their Brent farewells and Xavier was surprised to hear most of them weren't particularly kind. They group-roasted Brent for quite awhile, and it was pretty funny. And there was a lot of cuddling, notably Team Queens splitting up to cuddle SarahB, Alyssa, and Christian, in a major shmoozefest. Whitney wasn't feeling well, headache (plus probable target-itis), and she went off to lay down in a bedroom for a bit but rejoined the rest of them, looking uncomfortable. Team Kings did another not-quite-impromptu pantry celebration and dance, Britini did another solo "guess who's back, America!" celebration, and both Azah and Xavier told Derek F that nobody was targeting him but if he kept acting "out of sorts or pissy" (Xavier's words), he'd make himself a target.
They decided to hold auditions to see who'd replace Brent as the Big Blue Couch theme song singer, and Team Jokers were assigned as Have-nots as expected, since they're the only ones who hadn't done it yet.
Song auditions didn't happen - yet? Maybe they will, or maybe they'll go in the ever-growing list of planned activities that didn't happen, including prom and nightclub. Which is fine. The Haves made and ate dinner, and they all chatted in various groups waiting for the HOH room. Whitney massaged Xavier's fingers and arm for a long time, rather suggestively, as they retold some of their (awkward) flirty convos. Azah was not amused, along with many of us. They finally all gathered to play more party games: Telephone and Mafia.
Christian got his room around 11.20pm and they all troooped up to see the stash, and it was a big haul. He got a hoodie, family and doggie pics, cereals/chips/candies, lotions, smoothies, ice cream, bologna, guacamole, hummus, dips, Crook & Marker hard seltzer, music by Post Malone, and a lovely letter from his mom (who signed mom and dad). Tiffany read the letter, beautifully, at Christian's request. Mom said she'd keep it short and sweet so he doesn't cry too much, and he thanked her for that.

Team Kings stayed behind after the others left. Christian said he didn't know what he was going to do but they discussed and it'll still be Whitney as target, likely next to Hannah. Depending on the Wildcard outcome of course. Azah, Derek F for Jokers, Whitney for Aces, and Claire for Queens are the eligible players.

Cast reveal brought controversy plus a major Cody/Derrick mixup, and the feeds opened to him announcing he wouldn't put up a woman or minority, but then he put up Alyssa and Kyland, and it was downhill from there. He did everything a feedster should know not to do: shouting in Diary, talking in cliches, Bomb Squadding, pandering, power-tripping, mistaking BB history items, grandstanding, begging for a viewer save, and threatening to quit. Still, all that gave us a wild ride and super-chaotic first week of feeds that we'd never be able to piece together if we hadn't seen it unfold.
