Day 15 - Wednesday 7/3/19

Cliff and Tommy performed surgery on the vacuum to extract celebs' and other hamsters' hair and stunt hair so they could clean up the joint for today's live show. Christie and Jack worked up some convoluted story to tell Nick and Bella about Ovi's power, and Analyse who was also present, said she was afraid they'd flip the vote. Jackson told Holly about Ovi's power, they discussed what to do about it, Holly told Jackson he's her ride or die, and they fist-bumped on it.

The live show day salon kicked into high gear with clippers buzzing and scissors clicking in the bathroom as well as the dining area and kitchen. All indications were that Ovi would walk the plank, though what happens after that remains to be seen, between the cryptic "first live eviction of the summer - or is it?" ad and Julie's "something that has never happened before" teaser.

Ovi was evicted unanimously, but the bugle call sounded and Julie announced he'd be staying in the house along with David, who re-entered. Both would stay in Camp Comeback, an uncomfy, Have-not-like, crappy cabin room upstairs. They can interact with everyone and play the social game, but won't participate in any comps or ceremonies. Later the first four evictees will compete against each other and one will re-enter the game.

The HOH comp was BB Fireworks Quiztacular: seven questions about short fireworks videos they watched live, with answer options of red, white, or blue. David and Ovi watched on a little old timey TV in their room. Results were: #1 all correct; #2 Nick out; #3 Tommy, Holly, Kat out; #4 Analyse, Bella, Kemi, Cliff, Sam out; #5 Nicole, Jackson out; #6 both correct; #7 Jessica out, and Jack won. The credits rolled over all of them visiting and checking out Camp Comeback.

Jack had a private chat with Ovi, and Jackson had one with David, both saying "no hard feelings" etc. Jack wasted no time erupting with HOHitis and called a house meeting, suggested by and/or urged by Holly and Christie, within an hour of winning. He said he hoped everyone is in agreeance that they won't talk game to David, Ovi, or the future Camp Comebackers. Jack said it was "more a suggestion than a demand" - they did not hold a vote. David was there but Ovi was in Diary, and they said they'll fill him in later. That led to everyone filling David in on daily routines, anecdotes from their first two weeks, and David compared notes about the first day black box comp with the other banishees who participated in that.

Jack and Jackson tentatively agreed on putting up Jessica and Kemi, with Kat renom if needed, saying they said didn't want anyone evicted now who'd have a good chance at winning comeback comp (Nick), because that person will be bitter and wanting payback. David and Ovi, whose pics are both grayed out on the photo wall, compared a few notes. David said he didn't believe everyone's as kumbaya as it seemed, but Ovi said they're all super close to each other. Cliff ignored Jack's request and gametalked to Ovi, and so did Nicole separately, and later the three of them together. Ovi later told us he felt most betrayed by Jack and Tommy, and he'll be more careful going forward, putting most of his trust in Cliff and Nicole.

They didn't have any food left except saltines and mac 'n cheese, but they got an emergency delivery of steaks and chicken so they cooked that up and had family dinner. Holly and Kat had a pantry meeting that was mostly anti-Kemi, saying she was insecure and jealous because they're pretty. At least one and I think both said she's a "skeeze." David called Holly "Beth" at one point, and that stuck out here. Nicole told Kemi she wanted to apologize to Nick for jumping when he cuddled her, explaining that she isn't a touchy-feely person and it startled her, but she didn't want Diary or anyone else to think it was because she'd felt threatened. They did talk about it later and Nick said he hadn't been upset or offended. Bella and Nick had another spat about him spending time with Analyse, which Nick ranted to Tommy about later, and Bella to Christie. Bella swallowed a spoonful of mayo and a glass of hot dog water, to mixed but mostly loud reactions. David joked that he'd been watching the show, and a sudden hush fell on the crowd before they realized he was joking.

Jack got his HOH room and they all trooped up to gather round the goodies, like they do. He got pics of his dog along with socks, Nutella, Guinness, music by Incubus, and a letter from his friend at work who's watching his dog. He choked up reading it and was surprised and embarrased by that. Tommy and Nicole were laughing off to the side but they covered well. Jack donned the HOH robe, David and Ovi left, and Jack announced that he'd held a house meeting earlier (to the people who attended it). He reiterated the importance of not gametalking to David and Ovi, they took a vote and agreed to that, and they group-bashed David and repeated various things he'd said through the evening.

Tommy visited Camp Comeback to tell Ovi they'd agreed not to gametalk to David so "lies can't be misconstrued," and he said they'll pretend to keep that rule for Ovi too. Ovi asked if he'd been given the runaround about tonight's vote: Tommy paused and said "a little bit," and he skated around a few more of Ovi's questions. Later Cliff visited, and Ovi asked if the no gametalk vote had been unanimous? Cliff said yes "because who's gonna stick their neck out?" Ovi told Cliff he'd been student body president at University of Tennessee, and that it felt good to finally tell someone that. Cliff was suitably impressed, and said so, and also said he wasn't surprised. They got the backyard with new cornhole and new porta-potty. Nick and Bella had another spat, and Holly griped to Analyse about Kat in general, and she was annnoyed that Kat was going to keep being in the way of Holly and Jackson. Kat talked a little game to David, and Analyse apologized to Ovi for voting him out and said she was glad he was still there.

Holly repeated her Kat gripes to Christie, and also told her and Analyse that Kat will flirt with David to find out what info he gathers (and to annoy Kemi, in case she likes him). Kat started that task by having a late, long chat with David where she explained the game and what's transpired so far, including such tidbits as "there are no alliances." His expressions made it clear that he wasn't buying most of what she was selling, but it was humorous to watch it play out. Earlier Kat had said David "terrified" her, Holly said "he's 100% the villain," and Jackson called him "cancer of the house" (which he'd also called Kemi), and complained to Kat that David was "disrespectful."

Day 16 - Thursday 7/4/19

They felt the 6.4 earthquake (flashback 10.35am), along with most of SoCal and into Nevada and Arizona. It was minor in Studio City but it got their attention. They weren't all decked out in stars 'n stripes for the 4th like some years. Maybe BB suggests that in their packing lists and forgot this year?

Anti-David sentiment continued spreading, including Tommy saying he thought there was pee on the floor, which hadn't happened before. Cliff played up that and other alleged David crimes to Jackson, who didn't need much more ammo to hate David. Earlier in Cliff's morning talk to us, he mentioned David had said the r-word last night, and "it's 2 in the morning, no one's watching" after Cliff called him out for it. Cliff told him somebody's always watching. He also talked some politics to us, saying he's a libertarian and he bemoaned our current state of divisiveness, and questioned if he's an idiot for talking politics on the feeds. David joined him and they had a friendly gametalk.

Jackson had another breakup attempt talk with Kat, saying he "has to disassociate himself" for his game. She said "we already have [disassociated]" and he said "not really." They went several rounds, with Jackson stressing his game and Kat stressing she's not like other girls. She asked him about his relationship with Holly, and he said he wasn't going to talk about that. Overall she took it calmly and didn't freak out - for now - she did restart her friendliness with David though. The pantry was finally restocked so the food shortage crisis is over - for now. They got lots of halibut and fresh produce was back on the countertop where we're used to seeing it. They saw a video about Love Island with Brett, Winston, Swaggy, Bayleigh that said a Fiji trip would be "up for grabs" in the next veto comp. Jackson said he had a bad Diary session but he couldn't talk about it. It may have been for having said he wanted to "mule-kick" David: he told Kat "I fucked up" and "I'll find out in 84 days." OR it may have been from an anti-David rant where it sounds like he and/or Jack use the n-word (Flashback 7/4 11.23am - it's hard to hear clearly but it could have been that.) Jack told Christie he'd been scolded for his "mudstomp" comment, and added fans would understand because he was just quoting BB20 Sam (nope).

With no game events today and the big public July 4 party on the CBS lot a thing of the past, they spent much of the day around the pool. David started to organize a cornhole tournament and told everyone to pair up for eight teams of two. He didn't get much response, and later Christie told anyone who'd listen he'd only done that to see who's closest to whom. Cliff said David intimidates him and Christie agreed, adding "he's looking into my soul and poisoning it." Cliff and Nicole agreed they were probably "bottom of the totem pole" of the Jack/Jackson etc group(s), but they didn't talk about organizing anything to counter. (David had been suggesting doing something like that to several of them.) They saw a message plane and were sent inside. It said I (HEART) ZEBRA PRIME which they decided was a message for Holly - I don't know. Photo by @ecareyo

They made a slip 'n slide from trash bags, at Ovi's suggestion, but Christie soon took over preparations. They first had it weighted down with cornhole beanbags and dumbbell weights, but BB may have told them to ditch the weights. Most of them slid down it but not everyone. They used all the liquid laundry soap keeping it primed and moved on to dish soap - that'll surely cause issues later.

Feeds went down around 7pm for a little over an hour for a 4th of July party. They had hot dogs, pizza, booze, and music, and were loud enough when feeds came back to indicate they had booze. Tommy sat down with Kemi on the backyard boat-lounge and broke it, launching the breakage section of the tally. Pop delivered them some pies a little later.

Jackson talked to Kat a little more about his scolding, saying it was indeed about this morning's kitchen convo "and the internet was making it a race thing." Kat said "I'm not gonna say I told you so, but I told you," and "you know it's not" [a race thing], and "America will grasp at anything." And she said repeatedly it'll blow over by the time they're out of there. He said something about being "a southern boy from Tennessee" and she said "as long as you didn't say anything that was like a literal slur, you're fine." Flashback 7/4 9.22pm. Later Jackson told Analyse he'd been irritated when David said the r-word "with no remorse."

David told Kat he's been telling the "weak players" to team up, and she told him about the allegations he was up to something when he tried to organize a cornhole tourney. They heard and then saw a drone over the backyard and were sent inside yet again. Jack had a gametalk with Ovi (gasp!) and told him Christie knew about his power, and he danced around Ovi's questions about how everything went down yesterday. Nicole and Ovi tried to remember order of eliminations in the HOH comp because Nicole thought Julie stressed the Camp Comebackers pay attention, so maybe their comeback comp would be about it. They agreed they can't tell anyone else that theory, and then they told Cliff about it.

David and Kat talked some more, with David telling her about alliances and how to maneuver around and within them, and Christie told the HOH group she wondered how David could be so aware of what's going on after only one day, "without talking game." Jack told his group his nomination plans, and they hadn't changed from last night: Kemi and Jessica, with Kat as renom if necessary, and he said he'd tell Jessica she's a pawn. Most of them went to bed earlier than usual: sun plus booze will do that. David and Kat chatted some more and thoroughly cleaned the kitchen, with Jackson parked in the bathroom watching, and talking with Holly.

Day 17 - Friday 7/5/19

Jackson made some noise about rationing food, to mixed reactions. (Note: he eats most of it.) Most of them had a loud and lively discussion about poop and farts as they waited for the Whacktivity comp. Today's is Chaos and Holly, Jack, Jackson, Sam, Tommy will participate. If they do that in a different location like last year's Hacker comp (and last week's Nightmare, I believe), it seems they could keep feeds on in the house with the other eleven of them? But no, feeds went to Puppycam/Kittycam at 11.11am.

The fanbase continued erupting over yesterday's events, including Jack appearing to walk like a monkey when the HOH group saw David on the spyscreen last night. Toxicity levels out here are like late August rather than early July. It's going to be a very, very long season.

Just before feeds cut for the Whack comp, the Jacks told Cliff the plan to put up Kemi and Jessica, with Kemi their target and Kat renom if needed. Jack also told him he'd tell Jessica she was a pawn, and that he'd heard she was trying to form a women's alliance. (That could come back to bite him, as pawns usually don't have a Reason for landing in a nominee chair.) Cliff told them about Ovi and Nicole's theory they'd confided to him about the Comeback comp possibly being based on HOH comps, and that's why Julie told Ovi and David to listen carefully to this last one. Cliff only mentioned Ovi in telling this, but feeds went to fishies mid convo so he may have also brought up Nicole.

Feeds came back around 2.50pm with excited retells of the comp. It was indeed done off-site, and they shot individual segments of each of them entering and exiting the room or box, aka "the magic of TV." Inside they had to run a maze or course of some sort, finding snakes of various colors in boxes and barrels. It was an individually timed comp and Sam said he finished in seconds, adding "whoever won that, nailed it!" which of course led to speculation that he won. They were told the snakes weren't poisonous, but they can bite, and crowd reactions to the retells included some suitably horrified faces. They did say it was a fun comp to play.

The Jacks met in the pantry and both said they didn't win the comp. Kemi already knew she was probably going on the block, but met with Jack around 4.08pm. Both were cordial, Jack hinted he'd put her up but asked if she had any other names to recommend. Kemi didn't rise to that bait, and she got a royal zinger in when he mentioned they share a birthday: "but you're a different kind of Cancer than I am." Jack met with Jessica around 4.35pm and that one didn't go as well. He said he'd heard she'd tried to start a women's alliance, and that he might pawn her. She sputtered and denied, and said "oh get the fuck outta here!" Jack told her if he does pawn her, and if he wins the veto, he'll use it on her. Jessica proceeded to cry to various individuals and groups afterwards. Nick was running around in a sports bra, Sam said he'd had his hemorrhoids checked and got a new cream, and Kat tried to run damage control on Jackson, telling him David hadn't dragged him to her, and if David wins the Comeback spot, Jackson still shouldn't put him up.

Jack nominated Kemi and Jessica, as planned. Feeds came back to hamsters lining up to hug the nominees, and Ovi and David discussing everything in their room. It sounded like there was some stifled laughter in their ceremony, particularly Jack and Tommy, so watch for that Sunday (unless they had a total re-do). Kemi and Jack had a short meeting in the lounge, with Kemi thanking him for being transparent and giving her a warning, said she didn't want things to be awkward, and she thanked him for putting her up now rather than backdooring her. Bella told Nicole and Kemi she was the one who gave up the info about Black Widows and that she did it "to save her game," which in turn made Nicole worried for her future as she didn't tell them. Meetings and paranoia about a girls alliance took place all over the habitat, like they do, inevitably, and whispering, crying (Jessica), and gossiping ensued until another earthquake hit.

They had a bugle call around 9.30pm, and an announcement that Camp Comebackers had to go to Diary for their uniforms. Everyone sat around the living room chatting friendly until David and Ovi finally came out an hour or so later. They both had Boy Scout type uniforms with Camp Comeback patches, neckerchiefs, and boots that everyone said were pretty cool. They have to wear them all the time but they don't have to set up tents or cook hot dogs like the last time we had a camp costume, with BB19 Alex, but they do have an oath that includes "expect the unexpected" and Kat's "bitches conspiring against me."

Once the whooping over uniforms was over, they all scattered to their corners. The Black Widow girls questioned who started their alliance; Tommy got his After Dark camera time by jumping on Jack; Jackson consoled a crying Jessica and said he hopes she can rally and stay. Note that earlier, the Jacks and Analyse said Jessica might "talk her way right out of this game" and Jack at least said he didn't care which one goes - Jackson might still care. Kat hoped that Brett would show up to host the veto comp, and Holly said Bella wanted to talk to her but she was avoiding because she's "not good with confrontations."

Day 18 - Saturday 7/6/19

They had their veto draw: Bella, Jackson, Sam will play along with Jack, Jessica, Kemi, and Nick will host (if he's not bumped for another guest host). Jessica picked Jackson with a Houseguest Choice chip. Feeds came back to jump-hugs and regular hugs, and David explaining more BB to Ovi in their camp room. He said Jessica picking Jackson was an interesting choice and "strong gameplay by that alliance" [to manipulate her into picking him]. Jackson told Jack the only reason he'd use it would be "selfishly" for Kat to go, but he'd do what Jack wants - which is still Kemi, as of now. Bella said she just wanted to win the Fiji trip.

As always, they chatted, did makeup, laid around and goofed around as they waited to comp. Jack asked Jessica to meet in the lounge (Analyse was also there), where he said he'd heard Jessica was frustrated about how he found out about the girls alliance and allegations that she started it. He suggested she be her usual bubbly friendly self and gather info that way rather than actively questioning everyone. She said she didn't know the lies (about who started it) were being spread but now she does, and she had confimation "that person has been playing everyone in the house" (Bella). Jack left, and Jessica and Analyse stayed to talk longer, and Kat eventually joined them. Meanwhile Jack met with Bella to retell and compare notes. Bella said "[Jessica] picked fucking Jackson, clueless." They also agreed Kemi's handled her nomination extremely well, and discussed the option of Jack taking her off if he wins veto, so she (Kemi) wouldn't in turn target Jack later. Bella also said Jessica doesn't like Jack as a person because he's a man and talks down to women.

Feeds were down for veto comp just under two and a half hours and when they returned, Sam had won, making him two-for-two. He also won the Fiji trip, and he later asked if airfare was included? (Of course it is.) All of them got to watch, Tyler was there to host (sorry Nick), and the comp involved water and slime, filling a tank, and grabbing and stacking frogs. Kemi came in second, and Jackson hurt his ankle. Jack told Nick that Jessica said she'd put him up with Bella if she's HOH and he got upset, but he pushed for Kemi to go. Jackson consoled a sad Jessica and gave his word he'll hear her out and not listen to hearsay. Nick slipped up and mentioned being a therapist in front of Sam, who hadn't heard that yet. Sam joked that he's not really a truck driver (he is).

They had another family dinner with gratitude circle, with a lot of loud table banging after every gratitude comment. Christie and Tommy made a birthday crown for Kemi from a hanger, cotton balls, and flower and butterfly decorations, and one for Jack with fake leaves. They whispered some game as they worked, saying they thought Jackson won the Whack power. That means Tommy didn't, unless he decided Christie's too blabby to trust with that. That leaves Holly or yet another win for Sam, since the Jacks told each other they didn't win it. However, Jackson was lightly bashing Jack to Holly earlier, saying they'll be best buds out of the house, but complaining about Jack being too loud game-wise, and saying his house meeting was a bad idea. Cliff, Nicole, Ovi discussed the Black Widows debacle, formed a tenative alliance, and talked about who else they could bring in. Cliff's likely to take that to the Jacks but of course Nicole and Ovi didn't realize that.

Crowns were delivered and installed with a lot of hoopla and shouting. Both recipients were pleased, and Kemi looked pretty cute in hers. Cliff, Nicole, Ovi discussed the Black Widows debacle, formed a tenative alliance, and talked about who else they could bring in. Cliff's likely to take that to the Jacks but of course Nicole and Ovi didn't realize that. They got a booze delivery around 8.30pm, just in time to get them lively for After Dark.

Kemi did a quick fake cry which made Ovi and Nicole concerned, but she said she was faking and did it for fun. She also told Sam, Nick, Bella that Diary told her to wag her finger and say "uh-uh girlfriend!" She said "I'm like I don't even talk like that." We know Diary likes them to play up the archetypes but pushing stereotypes that are out of character is problematic, and doubly so considering all the other issues this week. Kat told Jessica that everyone's on to Bella and there's a plan afoot to get her gone after Camp Comeback's done. Cliff lived up to his pre-season promise to embarrass his kids by streaking for the HOH spyscreen. He stripped down to undies and put Orwell over his rear so he looked fully stripped. Christie, Analyse, Jack thought it was hilarious. Early booze meant earlier to bed than usual for most of them. Jack and Analyse got busy in the HOH bed and landed on the makeout and sex events tallies. Nick went up to HOH shortly after midnight to be the first to wish Jack a happy birthday (spoiler: Analyse already did), but the door was locked and they didn't answer. Later, elsewhere, Nick and Bella also got busy.

Big Brother 21 SEASON FAQ
Day 1 Move-in is June 19
Day 7 CBS premiere is June 25
Day 8 Feeds begin June 26
Day 99 Finale is September 25

Feeds are streamed by CBS, and Flashback is accessible via All Access subscription. Call 888-274-5343 for account help, including cancellation.

*Effective July 10* Air shows on CBS (Global in Canada) are Sundays 8pm, Wednesdays 9pm, eviction Thursdays 9pm.

Big Brother After Dark on Pop TV will be every night midnight to 3am (an hour later on Wednesdays and Thursdays). The aired blocks are live (or recorded earlier the same night, depending on your cable provider).

The CBS app (by CBS Interactive) plays BB air shows and other CBS shows, as well as feeds, or you can use your browser to watch feeds on mobile devices. The same All Access link used to subscribe will lead to the feeds viewing page if you're already signed up.

BB21 finalist prizes are the same: $500k for the winner and (probably still) $50k for 2nd place. Stipend for the others to be confirmed if/when they mention it on feeds.

The habitat has 94 HD cameras (no change) and 113 microphones (no change).

The recorded in-house announcements are the voice of producer Don Wollman. He and Julie Chen are the only staffers who have been there since Big Brother 1.
