Daily Feeds Recaps

Day 47 - Saturday - August 31, 2024

Last night included Leah plus Kimo deciding the habitat's got ghosts because the shower lightbulb was going off and on periodically. Makensy joined the larger, non-Arena game by griping with Chelsie about Angela and Joseph. That led to Chelsie explaining to her how things had unfolded to get where we are. And Makensy petted Cam's head for awhile, which led to further explanations from him that included some anti-Kimo/T'kor/Quinn. Rubina and T'kor talked some anti-Quinn. Leah talked some anti-Joseph to Quinn, who was happy to join in on that as he gazed at her with his completely smitten expression. Kimo asked T'kor if they're going to flip the vote again this week, and T'kor said they never had. Huh. If T'kor gets to finals, I have to wonder if she'll acknowledge and claim credit for things she's done or if she'll rely on being well-liked, which she is. This morning Makensy soft-pitched an F3 to Chelsie that would include Cam. Chelsie said she'd be okay with that if they landed there, but they didn't formalize a deal.

Feeds went to adoptable anipals from around 11am to 1pm. Joseph (again!) and Leah played with Quinn, Angela, Kimo, Rubina, and Leah won. Competitors were in jumpsuits with BOT BUILDERS on the back. They had to build a robot comprised of 11 pieces, in the dark. Makensy was set to host but Ainsley did the honors, telling them "I need you to build these robots to take down the government - oops I mean the curtains." Since Makensy didn't get to hang the necklace on Leah, they did a ceremonial version afterwards, plus a double chest bump. Leah was thrilled, as she should be, and joked that they have to put her on the show now. Angela congratulated her, and boosted her up, saying Leah wasn't boasting about her win: she'd earned it. Angela then puttered around the kitchen, narrating her lunch prep to herself. This leaves only Joseph and Rubina with zero wins (plus Kimo and Makensy who have AI Arenas but no HOH or veto wins). Pro tip: my Ratings section below has all these stats for your research needs.

Clearly Leah's win lands her in a tricky spot since she has a newly-renewed F2 with Angela, when Quinn wants her gone. Leah visited Quinn who gave her a flowery admiration speech (see Lines of the Day below - it spawned a fun side game for the day) with a barrage of compliments, while giving her more googly googleah eyes, and they discussed the comp before getting around to game. Quinn said he fears if Angela doesn't go now, she'll "fade into the shadows and show up to the finale in second place, taking $75k from me. Or from you, and from everybody else." And he said he wouldn't want Leah or anyone else on the block next to Angela in the coming weeks because they'd be evicted. Leah said Kimo's the only one she's worried will come after her, plus maybe Cam. Leah asked Quinn's thoughts if he had to renom someone. He said if one of the nominees won, he'd planned to invite everyone else to HOH to pick a red or green Skittle to determine the renom, but he'd first slip a red/safe Skittle to Leah. He finally asked directly if Leah wants to take Angela down and she said she didn't want to say definitively yet, but Angela is good for her game. Leah finally worked her way around to dropping some seeds about getting rid of Joseph. While they were meeting, Chelsie popped in to ask/complain about finding a toenail clipping in Diary. Makensy eventually joined to end the Quinn/Leah meeting, followed by Cam and Joseph. After the others left HOH, Leah mentioned that Angela had said everyone's laughing at Quinn's jokes now that he's HOH, and how cringey that was. (I didn't hear that, which doesn't mean it wasn't said. I did hear Angela say if/when Quinn goes, a lot of the fun and light atmosphere would go with him.)

Angela approached Joseph to campaign, and he snapped back that he has no influence with Quinn to get him to get Leah to use her veto on Angela. Angela said she wasn't asking that, and that she wasn't even going to ask Leah to use it on her. She said it's just that people always say they'll see what the HOH wants, and Joseph said they're just saying that to her, they'll all do whatever they want. And he brought up her blowups, saying people can get past one, maybe even two, but unfortunately it's been a pattern with her and she won't be able to convince anyone she won't do it again. She said she understands she jeopardized Quinn's, Leah's, Makensy's, and others' games and she owns that, but she'd trusted Quinn again. Joseph asked why would she, and she said she didn't know. Joseph said Quinn "doesn't owe her jack," and that she's not the only one who sees what's going on between various people, everyone does. He added "honestly Angela, I don't see a way with you, you need to go in [AI Arena] and win, sorry to say it but that's how I feel, I don't want to lie to you." And he commended her for even getting on the show and for getting this far. Meanwhile T'kor visited Quinn and he said she has "the best and most effective social game, perhaps of all time." Joseph went to HOH and retold his Angela convo to Quinn, Kimo, T'kor and Angela retold to Leah, saying the convo made her feel sick to her stomach and that it was hard for her to hear all that.

Afternoon dragged into evening, with a lot of gossip and retells of things old and new, and nothing decided about the veto. Angela continued her rounds about her Joseph convo including stops with T'kor, Leah, Chelsie. Cam, Makensy, Quinn watched her on the HOH spyscreen and (mostly Makensy and Quinn) complained she was become unbearable again. Makensy went back to wondering about the Instigator messages and Cam said he figured it was Tucker (something he and Chelsie figured out recently). Quinn said he thought it was Kimo. T'kor told Kimo she was done protecting other people, and she went down an anti-Quinn tangent. Nominee Rubina approached them and asked T'kor what was wrong, and she said she was just struggling. She was sitting with nominee/Have-not Kimo, and she finally acknowledged he was truly having a tough week, for the second time this season. He stayed in the hammock as everyone ate lasagna by Leah. Makensy made something for herself from the sloppers' allowable list but she sat at the table with the others. Quinn said he wants to host an HOH slumber party and asked if anyone preferred tonight or tomorrow. Joseph said he was tired so he preferred tomorrow. Quinn asked Angela if she had a preference and she said no, whatever everyone else wants, to which Quinn replied with a condescending and/or exasperated "o-kayyy."

T'kor and Quinn talked about the veto situation, including Joseph as a possible renom, and still more alliance possibilities, but they didn't decide anything. Angela rallied to cheer Leah's win and encouraged her to be happy about it and not feel bad for the nominees, and Leah boosted her in return. Angela then went back for another round with Joseph, who said he hadn't meant to be harsh earlier. She said she understood that, and appreciates that he's a straight shooter. Joseph said people still have love for her, "it's the 'game you' nobody wants to work with." (Ouch.) Then he said any of them will be happy to have a cup of coffee with her after the season. (She's heard and been part of convos about group trips to Hawaii, Miami, New York. Not that any or all of those will come to pass, but a cup of coffee? Ouch again.) Joseph said he hasn't hit the block and doesn't intend to, and he said if Quinn puts him up "he's dead to me." Leah visited Quinn again and they agreed what Joseph told Angela earlier was mean. Quinn told her if Angela stays, and if Leah's on the block against her in the future, Leah would go home as the bigger threat, "and I would not stop crying until finale night." Rubina and Makensy slapped each other with tortillas, with their mouths full of water. Cam coached them but then joined the game and the three raced around with their tortillas as Chelsie stood stock still. Quinn urged Kimo to up his social game, especially with Makensy.

Day 48 - Sunday - September 1, 2024

Leah made her way to HOH shortly after wakeup to ask Quinn who he'd renom if she uses veto on Angela. She told him she wore her veto necklace to bed "to absorb its energy" and she was still wearing it under her jammies. He seemed shocked by Leah even asking about using it and he said there'd be fallout if she goes "against the house" but Leah said she wants Angela on the jury, should she get to finals. Quinn's "googleah" eyes came out and he said "sick nasty" at least twice as he BB-splained his bullet points, which included "people don't vote that way" and jurors don't care about the first half. Leah said she'd feel more confident going into a double with Angela there and Quinn said people wouldn't evict Leah in a double, then he stopped himself, saying "oh wait" and he rattled off roster options to make his point about Leah not needing Angela there. Quinn hyped up T'kor's social game some more, and suggested Leah foster a relationship there. Nothing was definitively decided about the veto again/still, but it's clear Leah wants to use it, in my opinion. Quinn went back to alliance building plans, this time about the five who voted out Tucker. Also, tentative plans were made last night to discuss a girls' alliance today.

Kimo perked up this morning, maybe as a result of Quinn's advice, and he socialized over breakfast/brunch prep. A group chat grasping for names from prior seasons and trying to match them to the proper season was simply painful, and it got worse as they talked about what they thought feeds are like. They wrote off "aggressive feeds watchers" as a relatively small group, unaware that relatively small group are mostly the ones who know what they and their games are about, and will ask questions, and follow them, and attend their events, buy their promotions, and remember them. Rubina carved up a watermelon for fruit mocktails, to add to the throwback effect, and she gave lessons in tying cherry stems in their mouths. Angela sat silently in her angry chair at the dining table through all that.

Feeds cut in on Joseph talking to the camera, apologizing to Matt if he's watching. He then muttered to himself in the pool for awhile, and finally we found out what that was about when he talked with Chelsie. Apparently his convo with Angela yesterday really affected him, as he told Chelsie he plans to do some work on himself because he realized he's got "a little mean streak." He rehashed the Week 1 Matt stuff, and retold the Angela situation, though Chelsie was probably fully aware of it already. He said he since realized Angela had come to him for help and he reacted "like a jerk." Chelsie was a very good listener through that and offered good advice, without planting herself in the middle of it. That could be natural for her, or her church work training, or a combo. Joseph also said coming in his strategy was "never to be in chaos" and that's why he walks away when confrontations happen. (Ironic though, since this season is made entirely of chaos.) Meanwhile Angela told herself after talking with Leah "[Joseph]'s stirring a narrative so why can't I?" I'm hoping whatever she's cooking up comes out in a timely manner this time, and doesn't backfire on her.

Rubina soft-pitched the girls' alliance idea to Makensy but I think they got sidetracked before it got very far. It was hard to tell because feedmasters kept cutting away. At any rate, it didn't lead to a further, bigger meeting. Angela did some campaigning to Chelsie and Makensy, and to Kimo. Kimo told her part of him still wants to play the game but he "leads with his heart" in the world and was finding it hard to turn that off within the game constraints, and lead with his brain. Angela suggested he work on getting closer with Leah, and they shared some anti-Quinn talk. Chelsie asked Leah, in front of several others, if she's using her veto and Leah said that was too direct a question, and that she'll hear everyone out and make her decision tomorrow. T'kor had a lot of anti-Quinn talk as well, telling Rubina she felt betrayed by him, and that she'll be very angry if Rubina or Kimo goes home. She also complained that Quinn hadn't asked her opinion before putting them up. (It's annoying me how much T'kor's been complaining to both Kimo and Rubina, when they're the ones on the block.) Cam grilled lemon pepper wings after Chelsie said she'd love some. They were a hit with everyone, and there were no grilling incidents, although he stood in front of the metal monster for well over an hour.

Quinn asked Leah how her meetings were going and she said she hadn't had any yet. She said nobody wanted to talk game with her, and joked that everyone forgot she won the veto. (I think it's more that she didn't want to talk about her veto with anyone, since her situation about it is already complex, so she happily let the day slip away.) She did her hair up goony and picked up Quinn like a baby to carry him out of the bathroom, where she got her veto necklace and put it on to attend Quinn's slumber party in HOH. Most of them brought snacks and ice cream upstairs, and sat around HOH talking general topics, but we got fishies for most of it. Once again I'm signing off without knowing what will happen at tomorrow's veto meeting, which is kind of fun. Maybe things will be cleared up overnight or in the morning. Maybe we'll have good Monday afternoon feeds again, depending how things go.

HOW DARE THEY DO THE EGG COMP AND NOBODY ENDED UP IN A CHICKEN SUIT?! They've gone too far this time. I'm going to call the authorities.

Won: 1000 orb pickup & decontamination

Angela Murray - 50 51
Twitter - Instagram
Married with kids & grandkids - fan applicant
Real estate agent
Syracuse, UT (orig Long Beach, CA)

I hope she either comes off the block or somehow wins the AI Arena? I know. But I want her to stay as long as possible, and continue sitting in her angry chair, and continue messing up everyone else's games.

Won: TBA

HOH 0 - Veto 1 - Noms 2/0/0 - HN 1

Cam Sullivan-Brown - 25

Single - recruit
Physical therapist

He's coming alive a little bit more here and there, and is often funny. It's not much, but it's a big improvement compared to his 'Who?' era.

Won: Week 1 mascot/can't compete or vote; Week 5 AI Arena

HOH 1 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/1/0 - HN 0

Chelsie Baham - 27
Instagram
Single - fan applicant
Nonprofit director
Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Her game is in good hands - her own, unlike most of them, so her main role remains insulting Cam. She's upped that lately, spraying him with Febreze and comparing him to toilet paper.

Won: 24 hours solitary

HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 1

Joseph Rodriguez - 30 31

Single - fan applicant/feedster
Video store clerk
Tampa, FL

The star of the show came down hard on Angela but to his credit, he realized it and not only apologized to her, but said he learned he needs to do some self-work about his 'mean streak.' To top it off, his siblings and friends are running the best hamster-adjacent Twitter accounts we've seen in years.

Won: Week 1 AI Arena

HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 2/0/0 - HN 3

Kimo Apaka - 35
Instagram - Instagram 2
Single - fan applicant/occasional feedster
Mattress sales rep
Hilo, HI

He started to fall back into his gloomy Eeyore persona and it's understandable: he lost Tucker, he went on slop and landed on the block. He won the first AI Arena from that position so maybe he'll do that again? Meanwhile Quinn advised him to buck up and socialize, and he did. Baby steps.

Won: TBA

HOH 0 - Veto 1 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 1

Leah Peters - 26
Twitter - Instagram
Single - recruit
VIP cocktail server
Miami, FL (orig Pittsburgh, PA)

Her joy at winning the veto was well-earned and it was fun to see how happy it made her. But it put her between a rock and a hard place, her F2 Angela being the rock and Quinn being the hard place. The jokes write themselves.

Won: Hawaii trip; America's Veto/used Week 3; Weeks 4 & 6 AI Arena

HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/1/1 - HN 2

Makensy Manbeck - 22
Twitter - Instagram

She's handled her second Have-not week well, and she's a comp beast! Per herself. That's all I got.

Won: Deep Fake HOH/used Week 4; Viewers' nominee Week 3

HOH 1 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0/1 - HN 1

Quinn Martin - 25
Twitter
Single - fan applicant/RHAP listener
Nurse recruiter
Omaha, NE (orig Lawton, OK)

I don't like him shouting all the time, or his immature behavior, or his know-it-all attitude when he clearly doesn't. I don't understand him wanting to put together 17 new alliances at this stage, especially because he goes out of his way to blow up alliances, whether his own or others. (He wants Leah to feel she's part of one or more so she won't use her veto, but he started that stuff before she won it.)

Won: TBA

HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0/1 - HN 1

Rubina Bernabe - 35
Instagram
Single - fan applicant
Event bartender
Los Angeles, CA

The pattern is often for the showmance widow to win HOH after their partner's eviction, but she didn't. She did start to come out of her grieving period a bit which wasn't easy since she's also on the block, so that's good, and she's handled her nomination extremely well. Let's hope she can rally and do some damage in there, and make Tucker proud.

Won: $5,000

HOH 1 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0

T'kor Clottey - 23
Instagram - Instagram 2
Has a boyfriend - Survivor applicant?
Crochet business owner
Atlanta, GA (orig Chicago, IL/London, UK)

She feels bad that Tucker left on her HOH but I'm not convinced she would have kept him if it was a tie vote, even though she's said she would have. She and Rubina talked about wanting to form a girls' alliance but T'kor gets around to things so leisurely, it might never happen. Still, she's had some nice moments of just enjoying herself lately and that's been good to see. And then a bird pooped on her, not long after she said she's afraid of birds.

Won: $20,000; Weeks 2 & 3 AI Arena; 1 week AI Assist; Week 6 AI Instigator

HOH 1 - Veto 3 - Noms 2/0/2 - HN 1

Tucker Des Lauriers - 30
Twitter - Instagram
Single - recruit?
Marketing and sales exec
Brooklyn, NY (orig Boston, MA)

6th evicted - Day 45

He demolished two AI Arenas and was the first pre-juror to win three vetos in a row(!), along with an HOH. All that plus his boasting made him most everyone's target but he seemed to relish that spot (along with puzzles and biscuits). He was a welcome change from the usual 'comp beast' type, often showing compassion and empathy, and shedding tears over missing his min pin Ziggi. He fell in love with Rubina, and was often loud, sometimes obnoxious, frequently funny, and he usually owned whatever room he was in, including Diary. His gameplay was reckless and unpredictable, nearly always leaving chaos in his wake. He was that extremely rare breed of hamster: a hard gamer, often a good one (sometimes horrible), while being entertaining. He will be missed.

Won: Nothing

HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0/0 - HN 0

Brooklyn Rivera - 34
Twitter - Instagram
Married with kids - fan applicant
Business administrator
Dallas, TX (orig Covington, GA)

5th evicted - Day 38

She brought us a number of classic shockfaces for various blindsides, and she said 'this doesn't quite feel like Big Brother' when she was on the block and on her way out. I beg to differ. She confessed her sports dancer secret to Quinn (who told several), her Mrs America secret to Chelsie (who didn't), but I don't think she told anyone she's friends with Aaryn. Thanks to Cam, she provided a fun Michael Jackson side game out here for her last couple weeks. She never tired of saying she wanted a married mother to win this season, so I guess we can assume she'll be rooting from home for Angela.

Won: Week 1 mascot/can't compete or vote

HOH 1 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/1 - HN 0

Cedric Hodges - 21
Twitter - Instagram
Single - recruit
Former Marine
Boise, ID (orig Running Springs, CA)

4th evicted - Day 31

He prepped by watching analysis clips and didn't see any full seasons so he had an unusual balance of BB lore and knowledge. He was a good sport about being sidelined Week 1 and he used that time well, becoming well-liked by all of them. 'Young Cedric' was an ongoing, evolving skit and his own elaborate life stories usually had them and us in stitches. Between expecting volunteers for the block and painting himself into a no-win corner between his various alliances, his HOH was a disaster. Then he volunteered to be a pawn the following week and learned the meaning of 'pawns go home.' He was funny, genuine, wise and mature beyond his years, and he'll be missed.

Won: Nothing

HOH 0 - Veto 1 - Noms 3/0/0 - HN 0

Kenney Kelley - 52
Instagram
Married with kids - fan applicant
Former undercover cop
Boston, MA

3rd evicted - Day 24

He adopted Matt and lost him fast, then he won a veto, and the rest of the time he said he wanted to quit. He rallied a bit at the end when he teamed up with Cedric and Tucker, adding Cam when he walked in on them, but that got blown up immediately. He mostly sat by himself and shouted out his family, or he complained to others about missing them, so they sent him back to them.

Won: Nothing

HOH 0 - Veto 1 - Noms 2/0/0 - HN 1

Lisa Weintraub - 33
Twitter - Instagram - Instagram 2
Single - recruit?
Celebrity chef
Los Angeles, CA

2nd evicted - Day 17

She's a legit chef/caterer and ran that into the ground, along with sprinkling edible glitter on everyone's food whether they wanted it or not. Tucker's rants about her were an early highlight, and she crumbled after Angela mocked her walk and called her a twit. Props for winning the first veto (rare for a woman), but she wasn't cut out for this setting. Most of that was simply being a bad roommate: she made (and wasted) food they didn't want, dabbed non-consensual essential oil on her roomies' pillows, propped filthy feet on food surfaces, and she never tired of telling everyone what a special and unique person she was.

Won: Nothing

HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/1 - HN 0

Matt Hardeman - 25
Single - recruit?
Twitter - Instagram
Tech sales rep
Roswell, GA (orig Loganvilla, GA)

1st evicted - Day 10

He filled the pretty boy/brojock casting slot perfectly but didn't like Angela pointing that out openly and immediately. He was adamant about not being 'that guy' and to his credit, he did talk a lot against toxic masculinity. He cried after Angela yelled at him, but went out in high spirits with ginormous smiles for Julie.

Won: Control of the game

HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 0

Ainsley/AInsley - 24
Surf shop worker
San Diego, CA

She lost two votes to join as #17 so reverted to her robotic persona aka Artificial Intelligence Network Self-Learning Entity, and became a comp host.

Lines and Links of the Day

Lines

Leah: they have to introduce me as a character on the show

Quinn to Leah: You are sick nasty, you are incredible, you looked really cool in yellow, I like your smile, you treat people with kindness, you are really funny, you are really good at cooking, there's a lot, the word sensational comes to mind when I think of you

Quinn about Leah wearing veto around: People can complain but if they want to do something about it, they should win veto
(this line might be needed later for receipts if Leah veto's Angela)

Joseph: I think people thought that I controlled Angela's HOH, and that's literally not what happened, at all
(Correct, nobody thought that)

Rubina: Do you think Tucker's watching live streams of us right now?
Makensy: Hell no!
Leah: Hell no!
Tucker earlier: Come on Rubina, you scaring someone? Keep it alive

Leah about house announcements: They don't even have my name button in there

Angela: Let all the cards fall where they may but I'm gonna be messing them up

Cam: You're going to have a cult-like fanbase
Angela: What am I going to do with that?

Cam: I was compared to toilet paper earlier today

GAME TWISTS

-First and second move-in groups of eight voted against letting Ainsley join as 17th player, and each group played comps based on their votes.

-Losers Cedric, Chelsie were Week 1 mascots: couldn't compete for HOH or veto, couldn't vote, could be nominated.

-Makensy won America's Veto: once in first four weeks, she can remove someone from the block and viewers will instant-vote the replacement. She used it Week 3 after she went up as veto renom.

-Quinn won Deep Fake HOH: once in first four weeks, the HOH's AI avatar will announce noms Quinn secretly picked, and he can spread misinfo and rumors via that fake avatar. He used it Week 4 to take over Angela's 2nd HOH (everyone knew about it).

-Weeks 1 thru 6: HOH picked three nominees, and veto renom if applicable. The three competed live in AI Arena before the vote, and the winner came off the block.

-Week 6: Viewer vote to pick someone for AI Instigator (Tucker), who could spread rumors via others' AI avatars. A second vote determined how much cash he won ($20k).
