Day 35 - Monday - August 19, 2024
Joseph's getaround game continues improving. He kicked off the day playing bumper pool with Cam, which isn't unusual, but this time they talked about the impending veto meeting. Joseph also did a little damage control about the Cedric vote, and they commiserated about each of them being on their own in there. Joseph told him he'd probably be fine, and said some people were trying to "take shots and make TV" while Cam was just laying low, which was good. Cam said that's what he's been trying to do, but he added "block life is a little different." After last night's Tanks meeting, which Joseph finally joined to make it a 6th Avenue meeting, Joseph later told Quinn to stay cool, there were plans afoot to keep him safe. Some think Rubina told Quinn that Tucker would take him off the block but I didn't see that myself. If so, that could hurt Rubina's standing with Tucker if/when he finds out, but they've got the personal/mance thing to counteract that (or to complicate it).
Tucker used his veto on Quinn and put up Chelsie in his place, as planned. Feeds came back not to open hostility, but a lot of tension. Tucker read his laundry list as promised/threatened including Pentagon, Collective, the Quinn/Brooklyn F2, and a whole lot more, and apparently Joseph got yelled at by some of them. Post-ceremony one-on-ones have become the norm this season, and Tucker was holding one with Makensy when feeds came back, explaining everything in great detail, including his training and expertise about body language (a recurring theme). Makensy was apparently flabbergasted by all the revelations and tried to figure out how she'd been left out of it all, while simultaneously taking responsibility? She later told Rubina that she (Makensy) and Tucker are seen as a duo and will be targeted together as "a comp beast and a mastermind." Elsewhere, Brooklyn tried to play it cool but was clearly seething with bitterness, making comments like "the people that aren't saying anything, it's very strategic, because they don't want to ever have to admit things." Well, yes. Exactly. They're playing Big Brother.
Leah held court in the yard with Angela, Cam, Chelsie, Kimo, Rubina, T'kor gathered around as she went on another of her talk marathons. She was irritated that people were on the block because they were affiliated with each other, and said "if I go away for being in a group with someone, I will be pissed! I'm literally an individual." She also said she likes that Tucker just stands up and says the truth. Chelsie got a word in edgewise saying it wasn't all true, but Leah went on to say she doesn't care about all the F2s, and on and on. Blockmates Cam and Chelsie later complained about Leah always making everything about her (in case you thought nobody in there was aware of that: of course they are.) But props from me to both Leah and Makensy for filling up what would have probably been very awkward silences, and props to Angela as well who has learned to lay low when she should. And she perfectly tossed out "just another manic Monday" when Leah finally started to wind down.
Joseph apologized to Tucker for not having told him everything, again, and they shared a teary hug, with Joseph saying he still wanted to run to the end with Tucker, who said he did too. Tucker told forgotten/safe nominee Cam that Brooklyn and Chelsie had "turned Makensy into their fuckin baby snake," adding to his Brooklyn as Medusa analogy. Cam remained unbothered at remaining on the block, and rightly so. Chelsie went to work right away, shmoozing and explaining and pre-campaigning for votes, and T'kor also started damage control rounds. Angela tried to choke down some slop but it didn't go well. She said "mmbluhhh" after taking a bite, and said it was like "sticky boogers." Tucker asked "is it at least good though?" which was funny enough, but then Angela said no, she hadn't made it right, "and when I went to get the syrup ants were all over the syrup." Team Ants remain victorious, as they always have been, and always will be.
Brooklyn took to her bed for quite awhile. She dabbed at bitter tears and told Chelsie "we're not devious enough for this game" which was rich, considering she commented about "spineless players who don't watch the show" on Saturday. And she said "Quinn's now staying for sure, two of us are staying, so what's your game plan?" referring to Tucker, Quinn, Joseph, and/or anyone not herself or Chelsie. I'm not the best strategist when it comes to BB, but I have to wonder if she missed Julie saying "by a vote of six to three" the other night. Brooklyn decided Quinn had known the plan all along and had been deceiving her about it, and that's why he'd gone to sleep elsewhere. (That really was because of his sleepwalking and not wanting to disturb her or the others.) She did define floater correctly, as someone who has no loyalty to anyone in there, but then she said "Quinn literally painted me and Chelsie as Dr Evils." Actually, no. And let's not drag Dr Will into this.
Joseph's self-created narrative that he was creating alliances and being the godfather of the season came back to bite him, as various of them decided to point the finger at him for the mess many of them were in. Once again, you couldn't make it up if you tried. Quinn suddenly remembered today is his mom's birthday, and then he shouted out her IG. (I thought he was one of us: he should know better than to sic this fandom onto her.) And Quinn told Joseph Brooklyn's secret that she'd been a sports team dancer, implying she'd be good at comps. Joseph was unimpressed, pointing out that her win record was the same as his (zero). Tucker rescued another drowning bee and let it crawl around on him as he nursed it back to life. Fallout, rehashes, explanations and rationalizations carried on until almost 5pm when everything had been repeated to everyone in every combination, and other than Leah and Makensy who kept revving each other up, most of them finally started to wind down. That might be a new record for veto meeting fallout.
Brooklyn and Quinn had a rehash, and both denied having told Tucker about their F2. Brooklyn later told Makensy they needed Cam to go so there'd be seven women and four men left, and she kind of nudged for a women's alliance - Kenney says hi. Kimo told Rubina he was concerned about Tucker and Leah being closer than they used to be, and right on cue Tucker and Leah had a lengthy rehash in HOH. Makensy joined, Tucker rehashed some more, and Makensy asked why the vote has to be a house thing, and "nobody has to discuss who they're voting for." This just a few hours after all the revelations poured out. Tucker poured out some more or those, including telling them about Five Pointz. When asked who should go this week, he said Brooklyn's the manipulator and Chelsie's the brains. Leah said Chelsie also had a comp win and is a superfan but Tucker told them Brooklyn is also a superfan, and he pushed for her to go. Leah and Makensy had several minutes of passive-aggressive back and forth about Tucker while he showered, and when they were finally about to leave HOH, they both followed him into the bathroom instead as he finished up his grooming routine. Angela told Chelsie she thinks she'll be okay, Rubina finally told Makensy she hates being called RB, and Rubina and T'kor gossiped in HOH about Leah and Makensy cozying up with Tucker as they watched him make dinner with Makensy on the spyscreen. Dinner was a fractured family arrangement, with some eating inside and some outside.
Brooklyn and Tucker finally met around 10.30pm. Both rehashed their versions and got nowhere. Brooklyn got heated and Tucker told her she didn't need to yell at him, and she said "I'm not yelling!" He said she was now talking with Angela when she hadn't for ages (as a nominee, that's to be expected), and both continued holding on to various lies about various whats and whens. She asked if anyone knows about Five Pointz and he said everyone knows about Five Pointz. Both stayed stubborn, so it didn't end up like Quinn and Tucker who own their stuff with each other, and go at it good-naturedly. Instead they kept going in circles, he finally left with an awkward hug, saying he loves her, but I don't think she reciprocated that one. Both went immediately to retells: Brooklyn to Chelsie, and Tucker to Rubina. Tucker became a lot more heated in his retell than he did in the argument, saying Brooklyn accused him of getting personal when he hadn't brought up her family or kids. Brooklyn told Chelsie "ain't no man about to tell me how I'm playing this game, and be wrong, because he believes Joseph" - she said Joseph's name with disdain. And she eventually admitted that she had "elevated her voice" to be heard. Chelsie then sat down for a rehash with Joseph and a lot of words were said, mostly by him, and she apologized for going off on him at the veto meeting. Brooklyn apologized to Angela, and they also wrapped up with a hug. Retells carried on, and will carry on.

Day 36 - Tuesday - August 20, 2024
A few weeks ago I never figured Angela would be the most unbothered one, but here we are. For now anyway. Last night she joined a big group socializing and laughing in HOH, and she learned her Have-not problems were not unique to her as they all laughed about the beds, the slop, and constantly seeing and smelling everyone else's food. I think that gave her a nice boost to get through the next couple days. Rubina got irritated this morning from how many people asked her when she went to bed and did she get any sleep last night. A number of rehashes of yesterday's mess kicked off this morning including Joseph/Tucker, Joseph/Angela, Rubina/Makensy, Tucker/Makensy, Chelsie/Rubina. Leah tried to explain her formula for remembering which days are comps, evictions, etc to Chelsie, Kimo, Makensy. They didn't seem very interested but they let her ramble on. Brooklyn clocked in for her workday early, rehashing and campaigning to Rubina while doing their makeup. Rubina tossed out some subtle F2 feelers to Tucker but he didn't grab on to them, and they talked about arranging a cuddle date since he's only got two more nights in HOH. Makensy/Brooklyn and Makensy/Leah both had "nobody tells me anything" convos. Brooklyn told Makensy "we'll see more Friday, with who gets nominated." At least she's got some optimism she'll still be there.
Rehashes carried on here and there, Brooklyn continued campaigning (with an emphasis on last week's vote and last night's convo with Tucker), Chelsie continued campaigning (with an emphasis on shmooze and personal connections), and Cam continued hanging out. Makensy and Leah camped out in HOH again, and Makensy said God helped her win AI Arena so she'd stay, so he could work through her to influence things in the house. Tucker snored on his bed through this. Makensy later told the same to several others, and also said repeatedly nobody talks to her about the game. Quinn loudly ran the days and events to a large group in the kitchen. I didn't check to see if he was accurate or saying some things wrong to throw them off, but nobody argued with any of his items, so I don't know. (Maybe he got his superfan card off eBay.) Tucker told Joseph he'd found out there was a girls' alliance named Avengers at one point (huh?), and Joseph told him, and later Leah, not to tell anyone, but it had been pointed out to him that he, Leah, Tucker were the only ones who haven't touched the block yet. (Don't tell anyone? Maybe he got his superfan card off Craigslist.) Leah continued complaining about hearing people have been shit-talking her for no reason, when she hadn't shit-talked anyone. (Cough.) Tucker and Rubina had an afternoon hammock date.
Makensy made a lot of rounds trying to get into an alliance but got no takers, and she told most of them she's a lone wolf. She found out she was actually the target last week, from Joseph and T'kor separately, and maybe others. Makensy campaigned harder today than she did last week when she was on the block, and for no reason. Chelsie and Brooklyn both made comments about their BB fates being in God's hands so between the three of them upping their religion mentions so much, Julie's probably happy anyway. Rubina with various helpers spent a long time making spicy watermelon mocktails. Angela glared from the table during the lengthy prep process but she didn't crack. (She's only got one more day of being Have-not, and she's going to make it. She started planning what she was going to eat tomorrow night, and Leah said she'd make the birthday cake that arrived a week early.) Brooklyn said Makensy doesn't like watermelon so when she came out from Diary, all the non-HNs were enjoying their drinks and there wasn't one for her. Joseph planted some seeds with Tucker that T'kor and Kimo will be wanting to get him (Tucker) out in another couple weeks.
Quinn mentioned multiple times he felt the game had reset this week. Of course he'd feel that way since he came off the block, but it's pretty much the same for most of them. Joseph continued telling non-Collectives how he started that alliance, and Quinn finally brought that up to Kimo later. (Recall the alliance was already in place and they pulled in Joseph for an extra number.) Leah's latest issues were about people saying she's flirting her way through the game.

Tucker and Rubina finally got their cuddle time around 11pm. They settled in and got comfy, then Tucker got up to lock the door and turn off the lights. Ziggi was set aside, and so were we: all feeds moved to those still up in the backyard. Leah happily announced she ate a booger.

Day 37 - Wednesday - August 21, 2024
Angela and Joseph started the day looking like they were parked to wait until midnight when they can eat. In random WTFery it came out that Joseph's brother and Brooklyn went to the same high school, which was confirmed by Joseph's brother on Twitter. (He didn't remember her but another friend popped out a yearbook pic.) The yard was closed, and T'kor and Kimo started reprising their roles of Wednesday super-wafflers as they discussed the vote, and moving forward. T'kor said Quinn and Joseph are schemers, and she didn't see herself with either of them at the end. Quinn told Chelsie she's good and will stay tomorrow, and Tucker said the same to Cam. As of this morning, I'd say Brooklyn will go if she doesn't win AI Arena, but a Cam versus Chelsie vote is trickier to call. I could almost see it coming down to 4-4 with Makensy being the swing? Help.
Brooklyn and Chelsie both continued campaigning in their separate ways: Chelsie utilizing her social game and Brooklyn focusing on her anti-Tucker agenda. Brooklyn also gave Angela a teary rundown about her mom's cancer battle and resulting book, and Angela reminded her she'd also battled cancer. Angela later told Joseph she felt bad about Brooklyn's impending demise but she didn't know why she felt bad because Brooklyn hadn't shown her empathy when she was on the block. And she added "it's not like we're gonna be friends or anything." I didn't hear any blatant campaigning from Cam, but he socialized and enjoyed himself, saying "I'm still here!" Angela and Tucker formalized their F2 as the Unexpected, and they suggested bringing in Joseph for a third, plus Leah for a fourth, and possibly Makensy for an alternate third. Angela immediately met with Joseph and told him her F2 with Quinn had been called BB Guns, which Joseph thought was a cute name. Joseph said he trusts Leah a lot, and that she's "one of his favorite people" in there. That seemed to surprise Angela but she was pleased to hear it, considering.
Quinn climbed onto the table like a toddler to stare down a fly, and later he pulled out his comp hosting lab coat and put it on Kimo because people were goofing that he was probably really a doctor and not a mattress salesman. Many out here and all of them in there have wondered if it'll be a jury of seven or nine this year. If nine, Julie will let them know tomorrow after the eviction that they've made the cut to earn another eight weeks of guaranteed stipend pay. But if budget cuts are an issue, which they seem to be in some areas but not others, two more will be sent home before Julie gives them that news.
All of them gathered in HOH while they were rotated through Diary (maybe for farewells), and a massive game of jumpscare broke out. It started in the room, with one of the best being Quinn jumping up behind Brooklyn, and Angela took the opportunity to get her with a pillow a few times. Then it evolved into one or two hiding downstairs to jumpscare whoever came out of Diary, while the others watched on the HOH spyscreen and screamed and hollered. It was the kind of fun group activity that prevented awkward campaign chats for awhile, and the kind of thing I would have included the flashback time here, when we had flashback.
Evening brought various large group chats including Cam leading a guided meditation session for several that they enjoyed, plus small chats about the vote including Joseph/Rubina, Joseph/Chelsie, T'kor/Rubina, and Angela/Kimo. Angela was probably sincere for a lot of that but she also did a lot of shmoozing. She said she feels Kimo's like a son to her and that his bond with Tucker is unbreakable. Brooklyn told Chelsie she figures she's a goner against either Cam or Chelsie, and Chelsie let her know that was probably accurate. Chelsie said she wasn't going to throw AI Arena but that Brooklyn had try hard to win it. Brooklyn said if she goes, it's because God's protecting her from some unknown something or other that could happen if she stays. Makensy went off about Weeks 1 and 2 events including the original Collective, and she said they have to get Quinn out because the Underdog alliance was going to try to backdoor Tucker. Quinn told Brooklyn while she showered that if she goes he wanted her to know he cares for and appreciates her, and has enjoyed playing BB with her, and she assured him she'd be aiming for Tucker if she stays. Leah told Joseph and Brooklyn (separately) that Tucker and Rubina were holding hands under a blanket.
I got to the point where most of them are irritating me too much to listen to, so I'm closing up shop early tonight. Things could turn around if T'kor and/or Rubina try to turn them, but I don't think Rubina will go against Tucker's wishes to get Brooklyn or Chelsie out. So as of now, I'm figuring Brooklyn or Chelsie will go if they're up against Cam, and Brooklyn will go if it comes down to her versus Chelsie. But 6th Avenue will meet later to finalize, so keep it in pencil.

Ratings are based on entertainment value
Noms count: original/renom/twist

I get that they want to get more use out of the hologram box (especially after the Deep Fake Flop) but this Instigator thing sounds potentially lame. Saboteur, America's Player, and probably other past twists included assigned pranks that were just dumb. And what happened to Julie saying she'd be 'more involved than ever' this season? I was expecting Chenbot to annihilate Ainsley, maybe in a VR cage match, and then take over giving out comp instructions and delivering puns.

He prepped by watching analysis clips and didn't see any full seasons so he had an unusual balance of BB lore and knowledge. He was a good sport about being sidelined Week 1 and he used that time well, becoming well-liked by all of them. 'Young Cedric' was an ongoing, evolving skit and his own elaborate life stories usually had them and us in stitches. Between expecting volunteers for the block and painting himself into a no-win corner between his various alliances, his HOH was a disaster. Then he volunteered to be a pawn the following week and learned the meaning of 'pawns go home.' He was funny, genuine, wise and mature beyond his years, and he'll be missed.

Celebrity chef Los Angeles, CA
2nd evicted - Day 17
She's a legit chef/caterer and ran that into the ground, along with sprinkling edible glitter on everyone's food whether they wanted it or not. Tucker's rants about her were an early highlight, and she crumbled after Angela mocked her walk and called her a twit. Props for winning the first veto (rare for a woman), but she wasn't cut out for this setting. Most of that was simply being a bad roommate: she made (and wasted) food they didn't want, dabbed non-consensual essential oil on her roomies' pillows, propped filthy feet on food surfaces, and she never tired of telling everyone what a special and unique person she was.

Tech sales rep Roswell, GA (orig Loganvilla, GA)
1st evicted - Day 10
He filled the pretty boy/brojock casting slot perfectly but didn't like Angela pointing that out openly and immediately. He was adamant about not being 'that guy' and to his credit, he did talk a lot against toxic masculinity. He cried after Angela yelled at him, but went out in high spirits with ginormous smiles for Julie.

GAME TWISTS
-First and second move-in groups of eight voted against letting Ainsley join as 17th player, and each group played comps based on their votes.
-Losers Cedric, Chelsie were Week 1 mascots: couldn't compete for HOH or veto, couldn't vote, could be nominated.
-Makensy won America's Veto: once in first four weeks, she can remove someone from the block and viewers will instant-vote the replacement. She used it Week 3 after she went up as veto renom.
-Quinn won Deep Fake HOH: once in first four weeks, the HOH's AI avatar will announce noms Quinn secretly picked, and he can spread misinfo and rumors via that fake avatar. He used it Week 4 to take over Angela's 2nd HOH (everyone knew about it).
-Weeks 1 thru 5: HOH picked three nominees, and veto renom if applicable. The three competed live in AI Arena before the vote, and the winner came off the block.
-Week 6: Viewer vote to pick someone for AI Instigator, who can spread rumors via others' AI avatars
