We are living in wild times when someone using a veto on themself is a blindside, but here we are. Meanwhile Tucker was feeding and greeting the fishies without a care in the world. Last night he ranted to Kimo, Rubina, T'kor at the hammock about his plans going forward, adding more anti-Cam to his anti-Quinn loops. And he said he trusted Brooklyn the least in their Five Pointz group. That happened a few hours after Quinn laid out his anti-Tucker plans to Kimo and T'kor. Both of them keep soaking up info from all the various factions, whispering to each other about it, then soaking up more, and doing nothing with any of it.Tucker used his veto on himself for a change, and Quinn put up Rubina in his place via AI Angela, as chaotically planned. There was another earthquake while feeds were down, a 4.4 about 16 miles away, which they probably felt but I didn't hear any chatter about it when feeds returned. Cedric, Makensy, Rubina ended up together in the kitchen, with Makensy telling Rubina she looked good for her nomination (because Rubina knew it was coming), and Makensy saying she was over it, and wore sweats both times she landed on the block. Quinn told Chelsie he was annoyed his plan hadn't worked (he wanted Tucker to sacrifice himself to protect Rubina), and he started hatching a new plan to pawn himself next week to get Tucker gone. Chelsie seemingly took out her irritation by going on another rant/talk show to us. Most of that was focused on her irritation with Leah in general, and specifically her lengthy convo last night with Cedric. Leah had said she believes the woman is the prize in a relationship, and Cedric said the relationship is the prize. Chelsie and Quinn then retold that convo to Joseph and T'kor. Monday afternoon feeds are usually either feast or famine: feast if there's been a surprising veto meeting, and famine if everything went as expected. Today's veto meeting had a bit of blindside, but the afternoon feeds were dull and slow anyway. I will forever be annoyed that the Deep Fake HOH power (or any power they dole out) didn't include a secrecy clause, and that Quinn took advantage of the absence of that clause until eventually everyone knew about his power before he pulled it out. Since they were locked inside a day earlier than usual, they continued thinking this week will be a wall comp and Tucker continued boasting that he'd win it. There was a lot of general talk about movies, celebs, nothing, and everything. Cam made me think he was going to lop off a fingertip. Leah went back to being annoyed with Quinn in general, and expressed concern about being targeted because nobody was talking game with her. Quinn made a big production of carving a watermelon into a jack o'lantern, theatrically narrating every step to us as he went. There were a few talks about the vote, but it's very early in the week for that. Brooklyn remained Pentagon Strong and assured Cedric he'll be safe, despite Tucker's campaign to get him out. Evening brought a lot of silliness. Leah complained some more about Quinn being attracted to her, and Tucker suggested she put him on the block or call him out publicly. (Knowing Tucker, he may do that for her.) Quinn told various others and us that he tried to make that showmance happen, but it wasn't happening. Brooklyn went hard on her anti-Tucker agenda for next week in various convos, and she told Chelsie she'd been a dancer for Tampa Bay Lightning and a Dallas area hockey club (true). Leah and Makensy tried to do a two-person tumble roll but they didn't know how it worked. BB did not give them the "no horsing around" announcement, and Cirque du Soleil isn't calling. Makensy sniffed Cedric, trying to find where the baby powder scent was coming from. Leah suggested they play Houseguest Roulette, which she said was like Russian Roulette, apparently blissfully unaware that they already do that every Friday and Monday. Cam was successfully jumpscared for the first time, by Angela. Cedric admitted he's got a crush on Rubina. (Remember Rubric?) A lot of fishing about other crushes took place as well, some of it approaching uncomfortable cringe. A loud group game broke out and Joseph went upstairs to complain about it, and his tricky spot balancing between two alliances, and he studied days. He admitted he was feeling negative today, and he referred to himself as the godfather. I can never tell if he's being serious or sarcastic with that stuff, but it's funny either way. Kimo and T'kor went back to whispering to each other, and Leah, Makensy, Rubina did as well. They all sat down for family dinner after 11pm, late for this group to eat. Day 29 - Tuesday - August 13, 2024In overnight news, Angela walked in on Brooklyn talking to a big group and heard her say she loves them all. Brooklyn had been talking marriage advice again, but Angela brought it to Tucker, thinking Brooklyn was leading a mega alliance. Tucker took that to Kimo, Rubina, T'kor and said it was just Angela logic, but she was looking out for him and proving herself to be a handy tool. He did add that he agreed Brooklyn and Chelsie were close. Angela laid down on the floor to eavesdrop on the four of them in Have-not, and then she went in and begged for them to let her be part of their alliance, and Tucker welcomed her in. Kimo and T'kor had more planning sessions, again saying they wanted to tell Quinn about Leah trashing him, and wondering about bringing Chelsie and Brooklyn into their new group with Tucker, with their ideal group being Brooklyn, Chelsie, Rubina and themselves. This morning Tucker reported Angela's self-pitch to Joseph, who suggested an eventual good group might be them plus Kimo/T'kor, and possibly Leah. And they agreed Chelsie thought she was running things, but she isn't.Prior to that, Joseph and Leah had a gametalk by the fishies this morning, agreeing to work together and comparing notes on others. Joseph stressed that yes, Tucker was very good, but he was bound to lose eventually. Joseph said he wanted to stay focused on the longer game, while too many others were only zeroed in on getting Tucker gone. Leah brought up more of her Quinn complaints and called him a try-hard, and said she liked him more before, when he was being himself. Joseph agreed he was a try-hard and said he was cringey when he tried to be funny. Leah again talked about "people who are good to live with" as far as her strategy. Kimo asked Angela if there's anyone she trusts 100% and she said Tucker. She also said she feels like a guest in the house and the game, and needed to change that. (That's actually been working out for her a lot better than when she was actively playing.) Kimo said he's not heard her name as a target from anyone, which made her feel relieved. Makensy kick-started her social game (finally) by asking Brooklyn how she thought her husband did getting the kids off to school. Tucker spent a long time working out and doing stretches in the gym, prepping for the HOH comp that he's convinced is a wall. Joseph laid in bed asking random questions of the empty room, like why does Mickey Mouse treat Goofy like a pet when they're both animals, and wondering if he could chew his mustache off. Rubina complained of a headache after wearing a tight ponytail for several days, and enlisted T'kor to pull her hair to fix it, and Cam to show T'kor a more effective way to do so. Later she laid on the living floor and Tucker massaged her neck for quite awhile. Bold for a pair who'd agreed to keep their distance so they aren't seen as a pair. Eventually Tucker got a towel and said he'd pull her neck with it, saying his friends all come to him to say "do me" after he does theirs. He said he wouldn't jerk/snap her neck but BB then chimed in with a few "stop thats" anyway. Trained sports therapist Cam came along and said a towel pull should be fine, but BB again said "stop." Tucker then mouthed off at BB, saying fucking this, fucking that, "fucking psychos" and "this house is a fucking joke" before he was called to Diary. Chelsie hilariously retold what we missed after feeds went to fishies. Brooklyn later told Chelsie that Tucker does indeed have a weakness: "he loses his temper." Leah coached Makensy in how to play BB, and both of them wondered if there were any alliances in the house - Leah thought there probably were. (Bless their hearts.) Tucker had a follow-up talk with Joseph, who asked if Tucker had told anyone else about them teaming up? Tucker said no (but I think he has? Not sure.) When Tucker left, Joseph said to himself/us "I love that guy, I was upset with him and now I love him, what's wrong with me?" (Tucker's social game is a hot mess, but it's effective.) Joseph then talked game with Cedric, and said "this is why I created the alliance." (Bless his heart too.) He also said he knows from watching in the past if someone just stays low and doesn't make any major blunders, they can go far (true, usually). Chelsie told Brooklyn she was personal assistant to and traveled the world with a leader of Hillsong Church, until she "heard a voice" telling her she shouldn't be there. (Google it, whew.) Angela's wrong-date birthday booze came out so they played drinking games, and got loud. Chelsie said something or other, and Brooklyn said "why do you say 'we' like we're old?" Chelsie said "you are" and Brooklyn gave her a look. That may pop up sometime later, or not. And Kimo told T'kor that Chelsie knows about Five Pointz alliance. The clips episode with Taylor, Jag, Cody was edited well, and was a good season intro for Olympics viewers to slide back into BB. They did it like a panel talk show in the AI Arena space (because Ainsley wanted to learn more about the hamsters and their behavior), so they discussed the various situations in the clips. I made a twitter thread of the featured segments if you can't decide whether to watch it or not. The reveal of the new twist turned out to only be the title, AI Instigator, and that another viewer vote will be involved. Yay. Like the America's Veto vote didn't rekindle the horrors of every end-season viewer favorite vote, or the only bad thing about the OTT season. Kimo had some emotional moments but feeds were glitchy and dead off and on, so I'm not sure why. T'kor told him in the pantry she loved having him there and was very proud of him for being a POC and the first Native Hawaiian, and the only queer in the cast, and how all that can be very isolating but he's been brave about it. Cam and Rubina had a lengthy talk about where the line is for when clothes are considered dirty or not, with Makensy present, and Angela as well, looking like she was coaching drama club students running a scene. As luck would have it, Chelsie was gametalking elsewhere and missed this discussion about her favorite topic. Makensy made some more unconvincing stops on her campaign trail. Leah talked about comp wins not being as as important as most thought, since Derek F got to finals and Dr Will won twice without winning any. (She likely made a mistake about Dr Will, but I've always given him all the credit for Boogie's win.) She seems unaware that there are massive differences between her game and both of theirs (in vastly different ways). Quinn asked Kimo if Rubina and Tucker tried to pull in him and T'kor to Underdogs, leaving him out? Kimo said no, and Quinn said they should have. Kimo didn't say anything about Leah trashing him, which she continued to do, but T'kor had said she'd do that this morning. (She didn't.) Kimo and Tucker had a super-stealthy whisper session that I couldn't make out at all, something about telling Leah that Tucker won't target anyone who votes to keep Rubina I think, and to ensure Rubina she's safe so she won't stress and blow the AI Arena. The vote showed signs of possibly flipping to keep Rubina if she stays on the block against Cedric, maybe with an Angela tiebreaker. Makensy would likely get the boot against either Cedric or Rubina. But Waffle Wednesday is upon us, so don't place any bets yet. Tucker and Rubina continued to (not) keep their distance from each other, as he let her know she'll probably survive the vote, and he coached her to stay focused and ask questions when they get their directions in AI Arena so she wouldn't have to face the vote. They'd already said they'd kiss if she's evicted, and they added winning HOH as another kiss criteria. Joseph told us he doesn't trust Quinn and he might have to move forward with Tucker's group, and drop Brooklyn, Cam, Chelsie, Cedric - the Collective less Kimo and T'kor, the alliance Joseph "founded." Day 30 - Wednesday - August 14, 2024Last night Quinn pondered aloud to himself/us if he should team up with Tucker temporarily, as T'kor finally suggested to him. He ran scenarios and came up with parallel examples from past seasons, but eventually said "no, I will not do it, we can beat him now." This morning Cedric appeared to ponder his position, and then told Kimo, T'kor, Quinn that he'd tell everyone it's best for their game to keep him because Tucker has openly said he's targeting him. He wondered in particular how to approach Makensy and Rubina, and Quinn said he should sell his soul to one or the other. Cedric immediately said "I'll keep my soul in my body."They were told they'd get take-out delivery today and apparently there was disagreement what to get. A lot wanted In 'n Out but T'kor said (correctly) it would be cold and not good by the time they got it. They settled on barbecue. Kimo, Quinn, T'kor met and Quinn said if they team up with Tucker it'll be too hard to get him out later. T'kor talked like she wanted to keep Cedric (but she really wants to keep Rubina), and she said the Collective needs to have a meeting to coordinate their votes. Quinn said they had to pull in Joseph, adding that he's probably the only one who can do that. (Joseph told us last night he doesn't trust Quinn.) They had an HOH lockdown around noon and we got anipals, but only for a half hour or so, so it was likely just some maintenance item. Maybe the fishies experts came in: they used to once a week or so before the no-fishies COVID seasons, and were occasionally glimpsed on feeds. Leah lingered behind in HOH with Angela and Makensy, and had a minor breakdown because Cam apparently said she's argumentative. Many Leah explanations about Leah ensued, and Angela gave her a big hug saying it was okay, she'll be okay. Leah then retold the Cam comment to Rubina, and said she'll vote to keep Rubina if she's up against either Cedric or Makensy. Tucker told Angela the new group was down to align with her, and she said she felt stupid for inviting herself to join, and said she'd be fine if it's just her and Tucker. He said everyone was fine with her joining and they'll name it at some point. She asked if he was aware of the fake Collective alliance they pitched to her in Week 1? He said he wasn't, and didn't give any indication if he truly caught that or if he'd do anything with that tidbit. Brooklyn urged Quinn to pretend to ally with Tucker and tell him he'll throw the HOH, and then "bounce that check" if he wins. Quinn presented that pitch to Joseph, and he also said everyone thinks Quinn's in love with Leah. Quinn said that's just the way he flirts. Quinn added that he was unsure about Brooklyn. (Several days ago Quinn told us Brooklyn is at the top of his hierarchy of his many partners.) Angela told Brooklyn she really wants to work with her going forward, and she apologized for the HOH picking fiasco. Brooklyn happily/scornfully retold that to Quinn, and again said "bounce that check." Cedric pitched to Joseph, who promised him his vote. Angela told Rubina she'd vote to keep her if it's a tie. Brooklyn told Cedric she thinks they can keep Pentagon secret until F8 (but oop, it's already known). Waffle Wednesday raged on, with all three nominees making various types of pitches. Props to them for putting in the work, but this vote will be decided behind the scenes within the simmering alliance stew. The rest of them held nonstop whisper sessions in various combos from wakeup until food and booze were delivered while the episode aired. I completely lost the plot, and paragraphs like the above are just a mess, but I hope to have an up-to-date projection by the end of the night? Quinn, who's been saying all week he'll vote and Angela won't play for HOH, told Makensy that he finally checked with Diary and was told he would not vote tomorrow (so no tie potential), and that Angela would play. The end of show announcer said tomorrow's show would have the AI Arena and eviction as usual thus far, and information would be given about the new viewer vote. Most of them continued believing tomorrow will be a wall comp but I didn't hear much talk about construction sounds outside, which usually happens with those. And none of them seemed to think Chelsie, Leah, or Rubina might win that, when women of their respective sizes/statures have in the past. They're all scared of Tucker's comp skills, and rightly so, but I don't think anyone's ever won out starting from Week 2? But props to Tucker for convincing them he can and will. After meeting all day with pretty much everyone, and much whispering with each other, Kimo and T'kor still hadn't decided how to vote by 10pm, and continued to discuss it further. They were becoming annoyed by the Collective, knowing they're on the bottom, but didn't want to make themselves targets for the other side either. Others held meetings as well, including Brooklyn telling Cedric that Kimo and T'kor told her they'd vote out Rubina, and that Tucker will "blow up" if Rubina goes. This is far from settled, and just a hunch, but as of now I'm guessing Makensy will go against either Cedric or Rubina. If it's Cedric versus Rubina as final noms, I think Joseph, Kimo, Leah, Makensy, T'kor, Tucker will evict Cedric, plus Angela if she has a vote (probably not), and Brooklyn, Cam, Chelsie will vote out Rubina, plus Quinn if he has a vote (probably not). But don't take that to the bank: they'll probably keep waffling tomorrow. Cedric and Rubina packed, and I assume Makensy did as well but I didn't see her loading her suitcase.
