Joseph acted as chairman and did most of the talking, with a "go team!" vibe, and saying it was exciting to be strategizing. He suggested the ideal scenario this week would be to keep noms the same and boot Angela, or boot Kenney if she comes off the block. They did a hands-in to formalize the alliance, and said they'd fill in Kimo later. But here's the catch: Joseph isn't actually part of that alliance, and the latest talk has been about Kenney being a higher priority to send home than Angela. It was all sad or hilarious, depending on your perspective, but either way it was full cringe. That only intensified when Joseph later talked to himself/us to say "creating an alliance on BB is exhilarating, but awkward, I had to take the lead," and then (semi?) sarcastically saying he's the "star of the show" when Diary called him in.Also after most left the meeting, before Joseph talked with us, T'kor pointed out to him and Cedric that if their assumptions are correct about who does and doesn't have the second power (almost everyone knows about Makensy's), someone in the Collective has to have the other one, and isn't 'fessing up. This morning Tucker caught up on his zz's in HOH, and Rubina cleaned the kitchen. Chelsie told her they hadn't really gotten close yet but she appreciates Rubina's energy, and they bonded over both of them being there to represent. (It's also become very clear Chelsie wants to win this thing.) Angela buttered up Cedric some, commiserating about the stresses of being HOH. She said she was surprised more of them weren't remembering she's someone's mom, and thinking how they'd feel if it was their mom who was sleep-deprived and acted like she did, or was being treated like her. She asked him who she should be campaigning to, and he said Rubina had been pushing to get her out, and maybe she should work on Kimo and T'kor as well. Angela then told herself/us that he just mentioned Kimo and T'kor because he knows they like her, and she launched into a mini rant about Rubina, saying "what a brat" and "how dare you!" (I suspect that was an intentional seed-bomb planted by Cedric - if so, it took root immediately.) Joseph asked Quinn how Brooklyn ended up in the Collective, and Quinn wondered if he should tell Joseph about Pentagon. Kenney started up his send-me-home loops again, saying he'd use veto on Tucker if he wins, and wondering how that would work and if it had ever been done before. (Dick used veto on Danielle and stayed, and Brendon used veto on Rachel and went.) T'kor told Rubina she was confused by Kenney's spiels and said he doesn't act like he wants to go, and Rubina said "that's his strategy." Ding ding ding. Leah and Makensy were picked to play for veto along with Cedric, Angela, Kenney, Tucker. Joseph was set to host, and he shaved around his mustache for the occasion, but it would be on brand for him this week if they brought in alum(s) or some other guest host instead. Feeds went to adoptable anipals for their comp around 1pm and returned almost five hours later: Tucker won the veto. It was something with individually timed runs which competitors said was difficult but fun. They were dressed in safari outfits, and retells sounded like they had to hold and position something large-ish properly, that had various protruding bits, and they had to avoid touching or brushing against vines? There may have been a maze component as Makensy mentioned a "sharp turn at the end" or maybe that was also about positioning the -whatever- into place. Tucker said there was no real strategy involved, it was more just trial and error to get it done. There had been talk about putting up Leah as renom if needed, but those talks will likely start all over from scratch before it's decided. Meanwhile, Tucker told Rubina he wants to play AI Arena again so he "might do something crazy." Yikes. Rubina reported that to Quinn and T'kor, and Kenney wasted no time talking to Cedric in HOH about renom. Cedric said it'll be somebody who's not good at competing, so Kenney has a better shot in AI Arena. Cedric and Kenney were joined by Tucker who said his "something crazy" was just "to get them running with that stupid idea". (Ha, we ran with it too.) They talked maybe Makensy as renom to flush out her power and let viewers pick the renom, and save Cedric from more blood on his hands. (I'm starting to think his hands are more delicate than OTT Kryssie's.) Tucker told Cam it was time to kick the game into gear because everyone's afraid to play and it's been three weeks of boredom. Tucker also told him about Quinn's power, and he further clarified Makensy's power since she's told different people different things about it. He told Cam not to tell Leah any of this, Cam said he's not stupid, and Tucker also said to forget about booting Angela because she's not a threat to anyone, adding "that's the only thing she's not." And Tucker said he'd use his veto on Angela if Cedric would promise to put up Quinn. Cam then told Cedric about Quinn's power, and he wanted to know why Quinn hadn't told them himself. Joseph revved up his broken record to ask Cam how Brooklyn got into the group. Cam hinted about the power and Joseph said he had his theories (he already knows about both.) A punching bag was installed in the backyard, and they also got lawn bowling and a beach ball. Angela and Kenney had a hot tub block party, both of them complaining about having no allies. Kenney then said he and Tucker wanted to blow things up. Angela said she'd love to be in something with the two of them, but Kenney didn't respond to that. He did say he thinks Makensy has a power but Angela said no, she knows who has it and she had an agreement not to tell, but that was before she had a public incident with said person. Kenney then described Makensy's power and Angela said no, Lisa had that one and didn't use it. She said Lisa described to her how it works (what?!) but thought it was too early to use it. Cedric pitched Makensy as renom to Joseph, Kimo, Quinn, T'kor to flush out her power, and he described how it works. (All of them already knew, but didn't let on.) Quinn did not make use of the opportunity to mention anything about his power. Rubina told Kimo she's worried she and Tucker are being seen as a showmance, and Kimo told her he's developed a crush on Tucker. Angela sat in a nominee chair and cried a little, and/or cooked up something to pull out later. Most of the rest enjoyed the summer evening outside playing camp games, even Kenney, and that's a perfect lead-in to my new Ratings, below. More meetings happened, Cedric asked for volunteers again, and Quinn dug his hole deeper by not taking advantage of yet another opportunity to come clean to Cedric and Joseph about his power. Quinn and Joseph finally bonded over being secret superfans, and Quinn told him Brooklyn is too. Joseph asked if he has a power and Quinn said no, even when Joseph followed up with "promise?" They ended by saying it'll now be a race to see which of them does a Deep Dive with Taran Armstrong. Makensy told Leah she hopes she isn't the renom because she doesn't want to use her power and then become "everyone's target" next week. And they agreed Quinn must have the other one. Cedric finally decided to go with Makensy, or so he told T'kor, but it sounded like he plans to do it in an unnecessarily complicated and roundabout way. GET YOUR FEEDS to get the real story. Day 20 - Sunday - August 4, 2024Sunday is generally a day off for them, but there are no real days off in this setting. (Nor when covering it, sigh.) Angela continued her low-key campaign, meeting with various of them individually here and there, occasionally throwing in a small sniffle. T'kor said she's not been getting Diary calls so she must be playing too under the radar, and she said she wants to step it up later like BB Canada's Paras (who won her season). Brooklyn made some anti-Kenney rounds, and what-to-do next week convos broke out in various rooms. A large group held a writers meeting for the new season of Young Cedric, introducing a growing cast of characters and complex plots, many of them putting more effort into it than they are into the game they're currently playing. Kenney pitched an alliance to Quinn, who was receptive, and Kenney suggested they bring in Cedric and Tucker for a foursome. (Reminder, Kenney already joined/formed Shake It Up with the other two.)Quinn told us he'd made two more F2s last night (with Rubina, and Joseph), and he laughed about how over-allied he is, adding "I love this game!" Cedric told Chelsie he's pretty much decided on Makensy renom, and Kenney told Cedric about his pitch to Quinn. Angela and Quinn exchanged a few cordial words, about cheese. Baby steps. Rubina, who said last night she wasn't there for a showmance but was willing to see if one might develop with Tucker, had a convo with him about life things, comparing their upbringings and the like before feedmasters sent us to the kitchen for generic nothing and lunch. T'kor and Quinn had a long convo about what to do and where everyone stands, especially Rubina. Team Ants continued their onslaught and perpetual winning streak. Quinn told Leah there's talk about her and Cam being a showmance, which she denied, and he said it blew his mind to hear she isn't interested in Cam that way. It got hard to follow because Leah was like talking about like liking someone or not. Quinn compared it to Cory and America denying that they were working together last year, and he suggested Leah "angle it" that she and Cam are a voting block of two. Tucker revved things up again by meeting with fellow Shake It Ups Cedric and Kenney in HOH. He said (again) he was thinking about doing something crazy, and he told them about Quinn's power. Cedric already knew but I don't think Kenney did. Tucker said on top of that, Quinn was a very good player with a lot of alliances, and it would be good for all of them to get him gone. Cam arrived, but Tucker kept on going. He suggested he take Angela off the block with his veto, and then he'd beat Quinn in the AI Arena. He said Quinn could only use his power at original noms, but we don't know that for sure: Ainsley didn't specify about renom in the episode when she told Quinn what he'd won (but he would have been given all the details in Diary). And Tucker said if he remained on the block against Quinn, he'd loudly expose his power during the live show. When Tucker said "this is the whole shit that Angela was blowing up about that nobody believed," you could almost see the little lightbulbs going off over their heads. The four of them then formalized themselves as Ball Players with a hands-in and double-swap bro-hugs. Cedric went into a mini panic when they all left, since he was now dropped smack in the middle between Ball Players/Shake It Up and Collective/Pentagon. He later told Brooklyn he was still thinking of Makensy as renom. That would be safest for him and his bloody hands phobia and anyway, who needs big moves or strong boots on their BB resumé? Meanwhile, Cam told Leah it was looking less likely that Makensy would be the renom. Makensy asked Cedric if he's putting her up as renom and he said "the house" has been pushing him to, but he wouldn't tell her either way. They went back and forth multiple rounds, getting nowhere, and he said "over ten" people have told him about her power. Makensy later reported that to Chelsie, and she was annoyed that Tucker had told others about her power, especially Kenney. Makensy also reported to Leah and Rubina. Chelsie then retold her Makensy convo to Cedric. Leah and Brooklyn talked about forming an alliance with Chelsie and Quinn (Brooklyn's suggestion), and later they said they'd like to add Cam, plus Joseph for a number. This followed Cam telling Cedric he was "never talking to Leah again" because she'd blabbed to Makensy. Chelsie said Joseph's clueless about everything going on, and Leah/Makensy raised suspicions about the brand new, still fresh alliance of Cam/Cedric/Kenney/Tucker. The popcorn keeps popping with this bunch. Quinn told Chelsie, Kimo, Brooklyn in turn about Kenney's pitch to join up with him, Cedric, Tucker. He said he wanted to be transparent with his fellow Collective members, which might turn out to be a good move considering his name was floated by those guys as renom and boot. Chelsie laughed to Brooklyn some more about the "low budget rom com" that was featured on tonight's show, adding that it was "too low for Lifetime, maybe Tubi." (That edit was cute, but stale and outdated, and it omitted Rubina and Tucker crushing on each other, and Kimo crushing on Tucker.) Angela doubled down on the faulty powers info she was spreading last night, now saying Lisa had [Quinn's] power, and that it was good for six weeks. I don't know what she's doing with these stories, but more popcorn I guess. Things finally settled down some for the most part. Rubina and T'kor had a long talk about what they think is going on, but they don't do much with their info so I didn't follow it closely, sorry. Joseph joined and they swapped theories about renom, powers, and a viewer vote. Dinner was steak plus happy loaded potatoes, which they followed with a compliments circle. Angela told Cedric she had no renom suggestions when he asked, but she added she didn't think it was fair that everyone keeps expecting Tucker to volunteer for everything, or that she and Kenney are continuously on the block. Valid. Brooklyn told Makensy she'd be safe against either Angela or Kenney, and she doesn't need to use her power if she goes up as renom. Oh dear. Kimo did not tell T'kor about Quinn's power when they had a long gametalk. And Cam and Leah did dozens of back and forth rounds about her spilling about his new alliance, which she repeatedly denied. Cedric eavesdropped on some of it before they moved upstairs to the fishies lounge, where they finally hugged it out, and Leah spilled a lot of intel about Quinn. Quinntel. Joseph and Cedric met and I think they mentioned Quinn not confessing his power to his Collective allies, but agreed it wasn't a big deal? No flashback problems. They did say Cam might be becoming a problem because of his involvement with Leah, and that's why they booted Matt. Despite Cedric's hesitant HOHing, I think that's what will happen: Makensy taking Tucker's place, despite Tucker's chaos plan of the day. Maybe it'll depend on Tucker's mood come veto meeting time. I'd be floored if Makensy doesn't take herself down, but dumber things have happened. Cedric said in a late night group backyard chat, with Makensy present, that there should be no votes against the pawn to ensure that Angela or Kenney goes home. GET YOUR FEEDS to get the real story.
