Day 14 - Monday - July 29, 2024

Last night most of the women formalized an alliance consisting of Brooklyn, Chelsie, Leah, Makensy, Rubina. It's obvious why neither Angela or Lisa were included, but I don't like them leaving T'kor out in the cold. Maybe it's another of this season's aligned-in-absentia situations and she will be included. Leah went back to chasing Cam around the house, Tucker retold his Lisa convo some more, and Lisa asked Makensy for socializing tips because she wasn't fitting in. She said she thought her cooking would help but it hasn't. Makensy told her "if cooking's a problem, don't cook." She didn't say anything about the continual narration, retells, and gloating about said cooking.

This morning Chelsie talked to us and met with various others about renom scenarios this morning, most of those scenarios hinging on the mistaken belief that Lisa has a power. She said she wants Leah, Lisa, or Makensy out this week so she considered putting up Makensy (who would use her power) or Leah. Tucker had second thoughts about volunteering, and he told Chelsie about Leah shifting her flirt-focus from Cam to himself. Kenney used his veto on himself (obviously), and Chelsie put up Tucker in his place, as planned. Makensy did not invoke her power (she wasn't expected to).

The afternoon was extremely quiet with chit-chat and mostly general topics. One of the resident big green beetles got a lot of attention for an hour or so. Joseph had a solo strategy/analysis session, sounding like he's got pretty good reads on everyone. He had check-ins with Brooklyn this morning, and with Cedric this afternoon. And he's dropping more jokes in group convos, at one point jumping into movie chat to ask "is Tucker dead?" (He was sunbathing, and probably napping.) Lisa didn't take Makensy's advice to stop cooking (nor mine about narrating it), making another elaborate slopcoction plate and describing it to everyone.

Quinn told us Lisa will likely go and that would be good for him, and he said he wants to work with Leah but she's "in an obvious showmance with Cam" - he's behind on that soap opera. And he said he wants to form something with Kenney, and he's allied with most everyone which is "hilarious, risky but hilarious." Kenney told us he can win comps, surprise, tune in Wednesday and Thursday. Leah got Tucker alone in the bathroom and asked how he's doing. He said "there's bugs everywhere, it's gross, ants in the shower," and Cam made a timely visit to the toilet. Tucker said he's nervous if Thursday is him vs Angela, and went off on one of his anti-Lisa tangents. Leah said there's three people following her around like dogs (Cam, Makensy, Lisa), and then she followed Tucker to his room.

Angela said she just wants to enjoy her time there and enjoy everyone, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity and she "doesn't want to spoil it." (Meanwhile TMZ is talking to her boss because crackpot "fans" have been harassing her office.) And Angela told Kenney if she's evicted Thursday, she'll whisper something "very powerful" in his ear, likely referring to Quinn's power. Lisa walked across the yard cracking up, saying "it's so funny, it's so funny" to herself. Cedric asked what, and she repeated "it's so funny, it's so funny, it's so funny." She finally said it's so funny because she is a chef, and this is like real life because she doesn't look like a chef, and she wanted to become a chef to change what a chef looks like, and more of her same loops, again. Cedric listened patiently but didn't seem to find the funny part. Then the daily beetle returned and Lisa hit the deck with a quickness.

Dinner for most was salmon, shrimp, pork chops, and sides. The four Have-nots goofed in the yard, shouting and rolling around. The contrast on quads was hilarious, and why I stay on quads. It was like the kids escaped the kids' table and the grownups didn't notice. Cam told Leah he had a frisky dream about the two of them, and he tried to say they'd been tagged as a showmance and they couldn't do that. Leah didn't make it easy. Later she retold her Tucker and her Cam convos to Chelsie, not exactly accurately, and rather embellished. Angela told Kenney she was doing okay but "it would be nice" if were more sympathetic to her issues. (Most of them have been making contingency plans in case she pops off on someone next week.)

Angela told Cam, Cedric, Joseph, Kenney, Kimo that she 100% knows one of the powers is to take over the HOH's noms, stressing that she didn't have it, and "100% I know this." She didn't say Quinn has it (yet?), and she didn't say it would be via AI (she may not know that), and she said she didn't know when in the weekly cycle it would happen. I don't know how much stock they put into it because they know she's desperate, but even if this revelation goes nowhere, a big part of the shock we expected if/when it happens went *splat* and that annoys me no end. Quinn has also told Kimo about it, so he'll likely tell Quinn about this conversation. Also, as @ArmstrongTaran pointed out, since most of them know about Makensy's power, this announcement could remove the power suspicion about Lisa and get Angela evicted instead. Oopsie. Kenney told Tucker, and later Kimo, that he thinks the women have joined forces - successfully, unlike most seasons, and that Brooklyn is their leader.

Backyard improv skits happened with various participants, and got loud, and Cedric in particular acted his brains out. Chelsie spilled everything about Leah's ongoing soap opera to Tucker and Rubina, until Leah joined them. Angela told Tucker that Quinn's a snake in the grass for saying she can't be trusted, and that she knows who has the power but hasn't told anyone. Tucker said he doesn't think it's Quinn, he's sure Lisa has one and he thinks another female has the other. Angela had a cat-got-the-cream grin throughout, and said she wants to stay, but if she leaves she'll go out with a bang. Quinn found out Angela was dropping his name and told Joseph and Lisa it pissed him off that she was talking about him, but he wasn't going to confront "somebody as old as my mom." Both said they have his back, Lisa said "nobody believes it" (ironic since nobody believes her). Even if this goes no further, I hope Angela describing the biggest power this game has ever issued before it's used will put an end to the dumb conspiracy theory that Angela's a CBS plant.

Day 15 - Tuesday - July 30, 2024

They were locked in early this morning, and several started stirring the alliance stew again. Rubina and T'kor talked about firming up a group with Kimo, Quinn, Tucker and possibly Joseph as an add-on. T'kor pitched that to Tucker who was receptive, and said six to eight is too many but five is a good number. And T'kor pitched to Quinn a group that would include Chelsie, Kimo, Rubina, Tucker. I can't keep up with all that and rely on our alliance charters to untangle it all for us. @89razorskate20 sorts them more by alliance, and @Dolffica by individuals: both are always linked up top with my Power Status section.

Angela told herself/us she was going to stir things up, and so she did. She had a small spat with Tucker, who was in the shower, about his reaction to her openly calling out Quinn last night. Tucker said she was doing it to herself, and she said "I'm just aware." Kimo was doing hand weights in the room, acting as witness. A weight witness. Angela also broke into a smirky, bouncy, foot-slappy mockery of Lisa she passed her, leaving Lisa open-mouthed. Lisa complained to Brooklyn, and Rubina, and others later about it, saying she'd continue not engaging. She also said she'd heard Angela call her a twit. Angela told Kimo, with Makensy and Quinn in the room, that she'd been dealing with Lisa taunting her for a week, and she shouldn't have.

Makensy retold her fitting in/stop cooking convo with Lisa to Chelsie and Brooklyn. Joseph rummaged through the pantry looking for something, muttering to himself as he went. He said "I'm a fuckin snake, they need to vote me out if they want to win" and "I fuckin hate this show" when he couldn't find whatever he was looking for. Some of them got more of their withheld clothes back. Lisa suggested a dress-up party and/or fashion show for later, again. Kimo and Leah did a skit about selling cheese bites on QVC for undereye bags.

It was another slow afternoon with not a lot going on other than group chats, eating, laying around, and sneaking naps. Rubina and Cedric posed for a tragic movie poster, and I'm hoping we can call them Rubric. Tucker talked to Quinn some more about Angela outing his power, and he also told him how the girls said Leah was "yearning for a man's touch." And Tucker again told Angela he thought she was shooting herself in the foot for antagonizing Quinn so loudly, and she said "all I'm doing is jeopardizing his game, and anybody he's working with." (That's pretty much all of them.) Angela then passed by Quinn and muttered to herself "he smells good like Moroccan oil, damn him." Kenney whined some more about not being sure $750k is worth missing his family so much, and he said if he doesn't win HOH Thursday he'll gather everyone around and ‑‑feeds cut. Several of them devised a game about throwing something into a trashcan. Leah cleaned the shower, then did a character Leo, Joseph did a Frenchman, others joined in, and skits took over again followed by charades.

Tucker told Kimo what Angela said about Quinn having a power, and Kimo confirmed Quinn does have it and how it works. As of now, Lisa will go on Thursday if she doesn't win AI Arena, and also as of now, it probably won't be a unanimous vote. But it's BB and that's subject to change.

Day 16 - Wednesday - July 31, 2024

Leah took advantage of a slow start to the day by going on a monologue about Leah, barely taking a breath between 'likes' and Leah facts. At one point she said she'd tell anyone whatever they want to know about her and Lisa took advantage of an opening to say she's the same except her recipe for chimichurri sauce. Angela made a pantry campaign pitch to Leah, Makensy, Rubina saying she'll always be a target, thus a shield for them, she's not good at comps, especially physical ones, and she'd like to be part of alliance(s). She followed up with similar pitches to others throughout the day. Neither Lisa nor Tucker did much of that. T'kor told Quinn and Rubina that Tucker told her Makensy has a power. By my count, that means everyone now knows Makensy has one except Angela, Kenney, Lisa, and maybe Cedric. And I believe Angela, Kimo, Tucker know about Quinn's. Kenney told Lisa if he wins HOH he'll take shots, and be unpredictable. I find that hard to believe, but if he does win, it might be a good opportunity for Quinn to invoke his power.

Brooklyn and T'kor commiserated about continually being cut off by others in conversation. Tucker told Chelsie he knows about the second power and who has it (not Lisa), and he'll whisper that info to her if he's evicted. Tucker also told Rubina he knows about the other power but didn't provide details, and he also told her he trusts her the most. Kimo/Quinn/T'kor, Chelsie/T'kor, Chelsie/Joseph, and Joseph/Cedric all stirred up the alliance stew some more in piggybacked convos. Lisa played pattycake with Leah, and with Cam. Angela told Tucker if she doesn't win AI Arena she'll be pulling for him, he assured her she's good, and they hugged (a long hug). Angela then had a (real tears) breakdown in the pantry, alone. A group game of categories broke out as they waited for midnight and the end of slop for the week.

Barring any surprises, Lisa will go if Angela or Tucker win AI Arena, and Angela will go if Lisa wins it.

Ratings are based on entertainment value

Noms count: original/renom/twist

It's nice to have fishies back in the house, but not so often on our feeds. The '24/7 live and unfiltered' promos just add insult to injury. None of this is new, but it's tiresome, and so is fielding the complaints about it. They're crafting a story to present on television and that story doesn't always tell the whole truth. But it often hasn't, and so what? Maybe the suits demanded they stop lifting the curtain so much via feeds because it could make viewers question the edits of their other 'reality' shows. But that would be silly, since BB feedsters believe whatever feedless shows put on TV. Just let the tv-only viewers have their show, and let the feedsters have our show, and we can all get along. (If they don't push us all into the same hashtags together, that is.)

Also, they doled out one good and one monstrously good (and new) power at the start, but once again they neglected to add a don't tell rule (with harsh consequences), and now they've been outed. Makensy's got no reason to use hers now and it effectively becomes four weeks immunity. And since Quinn blabbed about his, it may not be used either - and if it is, it won't have the impact it could and should have if it came as a total surprise to them. I am so disappointed.

Angela Murray - 50

Married with kids & grandkids - fan applicant
Real estate agent

She could have had a smooth HOH and glided into the following week relatively unscathed, but no. She brought drama, fights, and fireworks which is great for us, but something in those fireworks also brought us everlasting fishies. So despite her explosiveness bringing loads of entertainment, she can go anytime. And doubly so now that she's outed what Quinn's power does. That could have been all-time EPIC nominations but the shockfaces won't be as shocked now. They might even have a do-over with bad shock acting, à la Cody's 'where'd they go?' Help.

She seems to be playing a good game, and she seems well positioned while maintaining a low profile. I'm glad she has a Perfect Life but personally, I don't need to hear about it quite so often. Angela got a lot of flak for being on Dr Phil but I haven't heard the same about Brooklyn, maybe because she didn't top it off with game shows.

After hearing him have a long game strategy session with Chelsie and Cedric last week, I had him pegged as one to watch game-wise. But it turns out he didn't plan for contingencies like Leah and being painted as having a showmance with her, and that's thrown him. Chelsie all but dropped him as a teamie because of that, and he still doesn't realize it.

His prep for the show was sketchy and he doesn't know anything about some of the basics, but he might be some sort of BB savant because he often comes out with surprisingly logical and original ideas. And he's often funny, so easy ups from me.

She's run her HOH in a professional way, gathering all the info she can without being a blabbermouth about her plans. Sunday's show proved her to be good in Diary too, with a wide range of reactions in there we haven't seen for awhile. She's juggling her friends, allies, and enemies like she was raised in the circus.

He knows more about this mess than he lets on, and he was keeping a very low profile until his birthday put him in the spotlight. But he enjoyed it and it was nice to hear him say he was glad he's been well received in there after fearing his fellow hamsters might think him too weird or quirky. Talk about low profiles, this guy has no idea what's going on, and he rarely interacts with anyone. When he does, it's usually to say how surprised he is that everything keeps making him emotional. He's said his wife Renee is the superfan and he's the casual - maybe she should have come on the show instead. To quote BB6/7 Howie, he's a non-houseguest.

He's a super nice guy and while that's usually not good enough on its own to earn ups, let alone attention on this show, he's been a calming presence when one's been needed. He checks up on chaos combatants and gives them support, and he's endearing himself to most of them on a daily basis. He's showing he's got some strategy but I'm not sure yet how much, but his social currency is building every day and that's a very valuable commodity in this game.

She's one of the most Look At Me types we've had in a while, and that's saying something since it's a casting requirement. She's getting on some nerves but she's also playing a pretty good game. Yes, she talks about herself with everyone, but she tailors her convos with each person. She's got solid relationships with many of them, and she's keeping them quiet. She was tight with Lisa and Makensy until she landed on the wrong side of the vote, and she immediately changed her tactics. Her flirting with Cam slowed way down when he was told it was being noticed and backed off, so she turned her attention to Tucker. But not before asking Rubina's permission since those she and Tucker have been kind of flirty.

See Leah as far as being a major Look At Me type. It's unusual that we have two of those who are so over the top about it, especially when they have common ground with new age sensibilities. Lisa keeps saying she didn't expect this experience to be like this, or like that, but she doesn't adapt to any of it. I'd say she's just being herself, but most of the time she comes across as being very performative and disingenuous.

I don't get much from her at all. It's comical how many people know about her power when she only told three or four (which was three or four too many anyway), and now it's spread far and wide. But it's not a bad power to be known about, as it could keep her off the block for a couple more weeks since most of them know she can just pull herself off.

I had high hopes for him but he's started off playing a pretty sloppy game. He got one of the best powers this show has ever had, and he turned around and told not one but two people about it, and now Angela's told several of them what it does. And he's over-allied himself, in big groups and small, and he's probably got as many F2s as Tyler. That worked out well for him, until it didn't.

I like her and I like the common sense she spews - that's rare for hamsters - but I'd like to see more of her. But she basically said okay, because the game is more important to her than a showmance. Brava for that!

She started slow but that's smart, and now that she's finding her footing with everyone she seems to be playing a very smooth and smart game. I hope. I want her to stick around awhile so we can hear more from and about her. She doesn't try to compete with the various attention-seekers and I admire that, but it keeps her out of the limelight and off the feeds too much.

Easy ups once again for being wacky and unpredictable. His anti-Lisa segment on Sunday's show was the highlight of the show, and the kind of edit that doesn't usually make the episodes until we're far deeper into a season. It wasn't smart to offer himself up as pawn but that's how this season is going, and I hope the others don't catch on that it might be a good time to get him gone if he stays on the block after AI Arena.

GAME TWISTS

-First and second move-in groups of eight voted against letting Ainsley join as 17th player, and each group played comps based on their votes.

-Losers Cedric, Chelsie were mascots: can't compete for HOH or veto, can't vote, can be nominated

-Makensy won America's Veto: once in first four weeks, she can remove someone from the block and viewers will instant-vote the replacement.

-Quinn won Deep Fake HOH: once in first four weeks, the HOH's AI avatar will announce noms Quinn secretly picked, and he can spread misinfo and rumors via that fake avatar.

-Weeks 1, 2: HOH picks three nominees, and veto renom if applicable. The three will compete in AI Arena before the vote, and the winner will come off the block.
