Day 79 - Thursday - October 22, 2020

Christmas had one more talk with us, using her perky camera-ready persona for some of it but inevitably lapsing into grumpy and resentful at points. She said "today's the day, I either get evicted or I go all the way." Spoiler: she's not going all the way. She said she doesn't believe Cody saying that Nicole being a prior winner won't be a factor for jury votes, and she again said she thought he'll probably evict her tonight but she wasn't entirely sure. If she paid a fraction of the attention toward everyone else that she focuses on herself, she'd know what's about to go down, but no. Meanwhile Nicole, almost but not entirely confident that Cody won't snake her, applied all the facial skincare products in stages: cream mask, cheek and chin flaps, paper mask, and a variety of lotions and creams. Then she gave herself a tiny burn with her curling iron - oops.

The show began with a tease about a "special surprise" for the final three, and the recaps had the usual glut of puns, pointless campaigning, and fluff segments, but for some reason they left out Nicole peeing herself. There was a lengthy jury segment that included Memphis's arrival, where he gave David a bro-hug, and they all yacked a lot about who's most likely to win, with varying degrees of bitterness and denial of same.

Christmas's speech including telling Enzo he'll be third place again, and Nicole's included telling Enzo he's now in the "I'm so funny I made Nicole pee her pants club" so that did make the show, by reference anyway. Cody evicted Christmas, and she double-talked and contradicted herself in her QA with Julie. She said she'd been "expecting this for weeks" but also said she was shocked, and although Cody told her about the other Wise Guys in his farewell, which she absolutely didn't know about, she told Julie she wasn't shocked. Julie then opened the viewer favorite vote (see right sidebar), and showed videos from home to the F3 from Cody's girlfriend Christy, Enzo's kids Gia and Nico, and Nicole's Victor and their doggies.

Feeds came back at 10.37pm and they'd had their memories dinner that included filet mignon, lobster tails, calimari, salads, crème brûlée, champagne, and fresh flowers. They'd also finished Part 1, which Nicole won. It was a spinny comp where they were alternately thrown into a wall and had to hurl over a moon, which they often hit instead. It had a zombie theme, and they were splattered with green goop. Enzo came off first, and it sounded like he'd gotten motion sick from the spinny. He also said "I shoulda never cried in the DR, I'm more upset about that than about [losing Part 1]" - maybe he got emotional in there over seeing his kids. Nicole muttered to herself/us at one point "a girl won first part HOH, I'm as shocked as you are." They said they thought the comp lasted about 30 to 35 minutes. So Cody will go against Enzo for Part 2, likely tomorrow or Saturday, and the winner of that will go against Nicole live on finale for Part 3 on Wednesday.

Day 80 - Friday - October 23, 2020

Enzo confirmed to Nicole that yes, his Diary crying had been about seeing his kids. Last night he told himself/us that he'd told Cody to cut Nicole and since he sent Christmas out instead, he said "fuck, I am in trouble." Accurate, and doubly so since Cody told Nicole about Enzo pushing him to cut her. Nicole worried about what Victor meant when he said "this is the hardest thing I've ever done" in his video message. Last night Enzo and Cody told her it was probably about having her gone but today she and Enzo wondered if it was about social media backlash. Enzo said "when you keep reading negative shit, it starts to wear on you, yo." Also accurate (and why I blocked replies on many of my tweets this year: that's been a game-changer for me.) Nicole said "you can pick on me but if someone picks on me or my family I get really mad," and Enzo said "if anyone says anything about my kids I'll go fuckin nuts." They exchanged some thoughts about jurors and how Christmas might affect their thinking, and they laughed about how awful the new school policy of pre-noms meetings with the HOH is. Enzo said it's like waiting in a doctor's waiting room for appointments, only everyone's there to throw somebody else "under the bus."

The three of them did some more rehashing of this season and their prior ones, and they napped. Cody did some solo studying as he stared at the photo wall and at one point he was playing backgammon by himself as the other two napped. If that isn't a new low for activity, I don't know what is. Enzo slept most of the day and evening, while Cody and Nicole puttered around. They had a donuts delivery which was the highlight of Nicole's day, and Cody was pleased to find his requested American cheese had arrived.

Reminder, if you missed what came before, check my previous episode, always linked up top or from my season index, and get the feeds to catch anything you missed with Flashback!

Day 81 - Saturday - October 24, 2020

The nothing raged on as they waited to play Part 2. Nicole's mirror-face routines, skincare regimens, and ongoing narration seemed to be increasing, which didn't seem possible but here we are. She asked BB to order her a dress as the one she brought for finale doesn't fit anymore. Enzo joked he hadn't seen the others for a couple days, as he slept virtually around the clock yesterday. He and Cody said they were grateful this season went reasonably well for each of them, and they weren't expecting much backlash afterward. Cody added "yo my brother had a BAD experience" to which I can only say Paulie bought that and brought it on himself. They also speculated how the jury will respond to Christmas's arrival and her reaction to them, and the same applies: she bought whatever she has coming too, especially out here.

The after Christmas sales I've been waiting for kicked in when Cody griped about her not cleaning up because she was on the block: "you're on the block for a reason, like you don't just get like a fuckin hall pass, it drove me absolutely insane! It's like yo you're on the block because of the game you're playing, you don't get any sympathy." Enzo agreed and griped again about her harping about him nominating her at F4 when only the veto matters. In another season rehash, Nicole told a whopper when she said she never repeated anything anyone told her this season. Hello? There wasn't even enough time to place a bet for how fast she'd retell anything before she did.

Feeds went down for Part 2 around 6.30pm and came back for a nanosecond at 9.17pm, just long enough to get a glimpse of all three so we know the comp was over. But then they were gone again, and not fully back until 10.42pm. Cody and Nicole were playing chess - Nicole was learning, that is, and Enzo was in Diary. There was not a peep about the comp or who won it, but Cody seemed in a good mood. At one point they argued like sibling children about how a knight moves, even though they just did a comp about that the other day. Enzo finally came out of Diary and grouched to himself a bit, then told himself/us while shaving that his brother will laugh, adding "fuck it, I finally lost my cool, fuck it, it is what it is yo." That was further evidence that Cody won, and it was all but explicitly confirmed when Enzo said in a sing-song voice "I shit the bed, cause that's what I done" and then he said "I took two shits in beds." Even more explicit confirmation came later from Enzo talking to himself again, "I cracked, Jacky [his brother], I let everybody down.. I wasn't gonna beat Cody, there's no way." The only clues I got about the comp itself was that there was a big "megatron," and pigs, a balance beam and swings, and they had to position themselves in pictures. Enzo let slip that they were told not to talk about it, so that's where we stand now, fellow feedsters. We are to be kept in the dark (but we always figure it out anyway).

So it'll be Nicole versus Cody live on finale for the final HOH, and either of them will cut Enzo as third place again. Unless they're lying to each other, but we've had no surprises all season - why would they start now?

Obit to follow

Won: Replay power (from Dani)
HOH 3 - Veto 1 - Noms 1/0/0 - HN 1
7th juror, 12th evicted, Day 72

He fell flat on his face on premiere and he lost his temper in a big way early on when BB wouldn't turn off the Have-not lights. He wasn't big on pre-nom meetings as HOH, and he advertised a convoluted 'secret plan' one week, which turned out to be exactly what was expected: getting David out. He had it in for David for no good reason long before that, and he caused waves outside our BB world by allegedly using the n-word. He had a sore back for weeks and then a sore foot, so he hobbled around a lot. He was early to bed and early to rise, and had the reputation in there and out here of being an old man grandpa, even though he was exactly midway age-wise in the cast. He and Christmas bonded in later weeks and 'Memphmas' fanfic was a highlight of his final week.

Won: $5,000
HOH 2 - Veto 2 - Noms 1/0/1 - HN 1
6th juror, 11th evicted, Day 65

He again made multiple F2s, and landed in various versions of the intertwined big power alliances. He and Bayleigh worked out their issues and fell apart again a few times, and he tangled with Dani, a bad combo for him on top of David's early tell-all faux pas. He showed some entitlement about winning the season, but he told Bayleigh and Da'Vonne that he'd ask Christmas to veto-replace him for one of them so he could go home pre-jury, citing BLM as 'something greater' they were playing for, but his talk with Christmas was shamefully withheld from feeds so we'll never know how it truly unfolded. He bashed us feedsters, and he played hard if desperate at times, but his comp streak wasn't there and he wasn't in on the pre-season ground floor to get to the end.

Won: $5,000; Slop pass, home gym; Basement Replay power/used on Memphis
HOH 1 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0/0 - HN 1
5th juror, 10th evicted, Day 58

She said she wanted to take Janelle's BB Queen crown, but instead she probably damaged her BB reputation. Not only did she not win comps like she used to, but she failed to bring the entertainment factor. To be fair, she didn't whine and complain as much as her prior seasons, but she came close. She either didn't pre-game well or she changed her mind once she saw who all was in there, and when she talked too much too soon about turning on her allies, it was her undoing. She had to nominate four people in her disastrous HOH week, and inexplicably decided not to push for Tyler to go once she had him on the block, even though her original plan for the week was to boot him out the backdoor.

Won: $10,000; Basement Disruptor/gave himself immunity Week 6
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 4/0/0 - HN 2
4th juror, 9th evicted, Day 58

He got a lot of flak for not being an 'all-star' but many of them technically weren't, and he deserved another shot more than most first boots. He went farther than many expected, but that was mostly due to power group shufflings rather than his own doing, other than the save he earned himself with the Disruptor power. But he blew that by fake crying and bad lying, and he caused a number of rants when he took $10k rather than veto in OTEV. He was an erratic player, often seeming brilliant and clueless in the same moment, but he eventually worked himself into a decent social position against many odds, not the least being Nicole's vote lie. But Memphis finally got his way and got him gone.

Won: Nothing
HOH 0 - Veto 1 - Noms 5/0/0 - HN 2
3rd juror, 8th evicted, Day 58

He went on the block at the start and never recovered. He wouldn't forgive his former idol Janelle from preferring Keesha stay that first week so he tattled on her, which helped to destroy all hope of the outliers banding together to take on the dominant power alliances. Then he became the pawn star and was nominated four more times, winning only one veto himself and once benefiting from Da'Vonne's win. He spent way too much time trying to analyze who was with whom, sometimes accurately but often way off, and he didn't do anything about it anyway. He was perky and snarky in Diary, but on feeds he was mostly miserable and mopey, rarely coming out of his Eeyore gloom.

Won: $5,000
HOH 0 - Veto 1 - Noms 2/0/0 - HN 2
2nd juror, 7th evicted, Day 51

Winning was one goal she didn't achieve, but she was highly successful with her other goal, to raise awareness of the extra challenges Black hamsters face in this game. Those goals conflicted when David tattled a confidence and again when she believed Nicole's lie blaming her vote on David. She made some messy game choices, but she made eloquent, impassioned block speeches, she had compelling in-depth convos, particularly with Kaysar, and she pointed out the frustrating facts when her point was repeatedly proven. She won a huge but teeny tiny veto, and she once again provided endless reaction memes and gifs. She was the heart and soul, and most of the entertainment, of this season.

Won: Safety Suit #2 (Christmas's win)/1 week space skits
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/1/0 - HN 2
1st juror, 6th evicted, Day 44

His plan to lay low at first was foiled by the ones who started gaming long before move-in, and his F2 with Nicole was only insurance on her part since she was tighter with the power group. Learning that broke him and it was downhill from there. He showed some entitlement about deserving to win but talked about his struggles learning to lose, which proved him vulnerable and human. He did a superb job with his skits, and talked openly about being on the spectrum, and it was so good to see him again. As before, I wish him well in all he does.

Won: 500 tricycle laps
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 1
5th evicted, Day 37

She and Tyler had their ups and downs, repairing their relationship from last time and breaking it up again, and that affected the game in various ways. Her friendship with Janelle was fun to watch, and her friendship with Da'Vonne was golden, the type that will likely last long after this season's forgotten. She gave yoga classes, and she rode 500 backyard laps on a tricycle as a veto repercussion, 40 with only one pedal, and BB didn't even put it on the show. Her great attitude riding those laps, mostly to spite her haters, was a joy to behold.

Won: Safety Suite #1
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 2/0 - HN 1
4th evicted, Day 30

His BB strategy plans have always held promise but implementing them, not so much. But no matter: he was and is a class act, and he always brings the kind of much-needed humanity our feeds are usually lacking in a big way. It's too bad things didn't work out differently this time but it was great to see him on our feeds again, both for himself and for his fun friendship with Janelle.

Won: Safety Suit #1 (Kaysar's win)/1 week star
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 1
3rd evicted, Day 23

It was great to see her on feeds again, especially her easy friendship with Kaysar. She was BB6 Janelle again but without the in-your-face name-calling that would have made things more fun for us, but props to her for not going there. It's astounding how hard she was targeted just for showing up, proof that Janellousy is still real.

Won: Nothing
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 1
2nd evicted, Day 16

Imagine going on BB and not wanting to work with Janelle and Kaysar. Having them to go bat for you, hard, and then throwing it back in their faces. It's mind-boggling. She was in way over her head this season, made one bad decision after another, and she repeatedly promised us a house meeting that she never delivered.

Won: Nothing
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 0
1st evicted, Day 9

She was feisty her first time around but like all of them, she's older and more mature now, and her birthday happened before they moved in, so we didn't get any new memorable Keesha scenes. But it was good to see her again and she got a nice check for two weeks isolation and one week of summer camp.
