Several of Nicole's "influencer" sponsors have announced they'll cut ties with her. She's usually named the frontrunner for this scandal even though Memphis, Dani, Christmas have also been involved, much like Aaryn took the brunt of the BB15 racism even though seven others from that cast also said racially insensitive or downright racist things. I also wonder why this story is growing legs while the racial microaggressions this season have not, particularly when Christmas's pre-nominations rant was so blatant, and Tyler's talk with her about his pawn offer was withheld from feeds, after he'd cited the "bigger cause" to Bayleigh and Da'Vonne. It's a good bet Dani didn't invoke her power allowing the outgoing HOH to play again for the next week. She has to let Diary know by 10am on Thursdays so they can set up the apparatus, camera angles, etc etc. So that's the first complete week for the Basement powers in the can, leaving all three of them unused and still available for the next two cycles. Along with Thursday primping, Da'Vonne patiently listened to Christmas describe her fitness empire as if it was their first meeting or a sales pitch seminar. Kevin approached David to be sure "what they have is locked," and Kevin said they should get together with Da'Vonne and possibly Enzo to formalize it. Cue next week's CBS edit of Kevin as mastermind. David warned Christmas there might be backlash about the optics of her noms, which seemed to rattle her a bit, but of course she justified her game reasons for her choices, and he also told her what she'd gone through this week was "not fair." Tonight's HOH comp is indeed an endurance or fill-the-cups or eggs-thru-chicken-wire or similar long comp, and it's been announced it will be on feeds! Get them to watch it unfold live. Hopefully there won't be mixups there, since feeds have been off til 9pm the last few Thursdays, and multiple departments and work-at-homes are involved. I'm hoping they'll get it together and switch on the feeds right when Julie says "good night, houseguests." The show recapped the Tyler renom pitch and ensuing fiasco, fight night, and Cody getting the news about his grandfather, but they omitted Bayleigh's 500 tricycle laps completely - what's up with that? Why bother with such things if they don't even show them? Bayleigh was evicted 9-0. She'll have an extended QA with Julie on BB Rewind, which shows up on Facebook. Julie told the remainders they were now in jury, and that there would be no pre-jury battle-back. Interestingly There was quite a bit of chatter later on feeds about them having seen Julie's little pre-vote intros for each of them. It was unclear if they heard or just saw and lip-read them, but several of them mentioned they could tell what she'd said - or rather who, as Julie often connects the voting hamster to someone else, sometimes accurately and sometimes not. HOH comp was an endurance titled Power Trip, a wall comp on a movie billboard setup, with sayings on it like "The power is up for grabs" of course, along with "From the producers of Crash and Turn" and "This film is overrated." Julie started them at 5.58pm and told them the first three off would be Have-nots. Feeds came back at 6.07pm but site glitches gave a lot of people 503 Unavailable errors for awhile so yep, Goof Tally. The wall started tilting almost immediately, and periodic cold water spray started not long after. Outs in order were Da'Vonne 6.12pm, David 6.47pm, Ian 6.51pm, Memphis 6.51pm, Enzo 7.01pm, Kevin 7.07pm, Tyler 7.16pm, Nicole 7.21pm, Cody 7.21, leaving Dani the new HOH.. an impressive performance considering how much she's always hated the cold water comps. The usual psst-pssting set in of course, wondering if this one or that one threw the comp, and comparing of aches and pains, and wall techniques, and showering and eating got underway for most. Da'Vonne and David moved some things back to Have-not, and agreed Dani would probably put up one of them plus a pawn. Dani told Da'Vonne she'll be safe this week. Ian and his dinosaur Isaac told Nicole he thought they should be good this week, and she said she hopes so, but she doesn't even want to think about it. She also told him she values their friendship over the game, and she's sad if she ever did anything to jeopardize that. Refer to today's first paragraph - chances are she got a heads-up from Diary about at least some of that. Tyler told Enzo he thought he (Tyler) would be going up, but Enzo said he figured it'd be David and Kevin. Memphis said around 9.30pm he hoped Dani would get her room soon so he could go to bed, noting that Christmas's was very late last week because she "held high court for three hours" after their comp (holding individual meetings with everyone in the lounge), and then he called her Princess. Dani whispered to Nicole her noms would likely be David and Kevin. It sounded like she had a backdoor target in mind (Tyler would be my guess), but they were interrupted before she could go further. She finally got her room around 11.30pm but once again it was withheld from feeds. Her letter was from hubby/BB13 alum Dominic, and she got an assortment of snacks and vegan foods, plus kombucha. Everyone left and Da'Vonne returned to subtly pitch for Christmas to go up. They both said they thought Ian threw the comp, and they both expressed surprise that Christmas and Tyler seemed so close last week, when they hadn't noticed them talking at all before then. Later Dani also implied to Cody that she'd put up David and Kevin. Dani said she'd feel bad as she'd spent time comforting David at various times when he was hurting. She didn't specify a backdoor plan, though they joked about Cody going up as renom. That led to them promising they'd never nominate or vote to evict each other. (Dani also had that deal with Janelle and while she didn't do either, she sure encouraged others to do so.) They discussed their issues about Tyler, as well as Ian and Nicole's protection of him. Reminder, if you missed what came before, check my previous episode, always linked up top or from my season index, and/or the detailed feeds updates by @UgotBronx, and get the feeds to catch anything you missed with Flashback! Day 38 - Friday - September 11, 2020Nicole and Dani had a pre-noms whisper, with Dani still wanting to put up David and Kevin, with a target on Tyler for the backdoor. Dani said if she doesn't get him now while she can, he'll get her. And she said she'd be afraid to backdoor Christmas, "she'd punch me." They had some anti-Ian talk, with Dani telling her what Cody had said last night, that Ian had said Bayleigh said Dani was running the house. Nicole said Da'Vonne, David, Kevin were "close to controlling the votes" and they could pull in Ian. Nicole repeated she'd been in a bad mood since a Diary session (presumably being warned about mocking Ian; also, more of Nicole's "influencer" sponsors announced today they've dropped her.) Dani later met with Memphis and told him about the Tyler renom fiasco. Memphis said he could believe Tyler wanted to go home before jury, but questioned why he hadn't told his alliance members.Dani's pre-noms meetings continued with Kevin. She told him she had a plan in mind and she said she'd need pawns to make it work. She didn't say Tyler by name but said it was a good competitor she had her eyes on. She said she'd trust Kevin to "help with the bigger picture" and he said he'd been on the block twice already, he didn't want to be laughed at or seen as expendable, and if she put him up he'd "feel some kinda way." He said he values the friendships he's made, and didn't want to spend his birthday alone in jury, and suggested David might be a better option to remain on the block Thursday. Afterwards Kevin sobbed to Da'Vonne, clearly feeling some kinda way, and said he'd been disappointed and hurt by "all his idols" of BB, first Janelle and now Dani. Dani also met with David, who brought up how she'd been there for him when he'd been emotional. She didn't give him as much information as she had Kevin, and she later told Cody if the veto isn't used to get Tyler up there, she'd prefer David go than Kevin. She said the same to Da'Vonne and Cody, and also told several that David hadn't talked game at all in their meeting. Her other meetings were relatively uneventful, other than her and Tyler shaking hands on not going after each other til they get down to The Committee, which he upped to Final 4, but he added he won't be mad if she noms or backdoors him, and said that's what he'd do if he were her. They also shmoozed each other about powers, both acting like they don't know who has any of them (she has one, and he knows Christmas has one). Neither seemed to think David has the third. Dani nominated Kevin and David, as planned. Kevin went into full Eeyore mode, crying and miserable, even though he had a pretty good heads up this was going to happen. David's Disruptor power was not invoked - yet? CBS site description says his is secret, and "valid for one of the next three nomination ceremonies." (Today's was the second of those three.) Maybe "ceremony" isn't literal and maybe he'll invoke it later and they'll get an alarm bell or something. If he had to set it up with Diary ahead of time, depending on whatever scenario(s) happened at noms, maybe he felt comfortable enough to wait til next week. There's no way to know as of now. Also, the backyard opened shortly after noms, with no comp setup or equipment to be seen, confusing them and us further. Maybe tomorrow will be the trash the house hide 'n seek veto - they could do that with very minimal yard apparatus, just a finishing times podium or placement sign. However, Nicole pointed out staffers go in to temporarily remove hidden items so the next one to hide won't come across them, and that wouldn't happen now with their virus protocols. But enough with all these maybes and what ifs, and onto some hard news! Team Ants launched a full-scale assault on the kitchen and were discovered on counters, in spices, and atop the fridge. Da'Vonne disturbed their trail and became fascinated at their reactions, while also being majorly grossed out. She said "ooh ooh, they're so confused and disheveled! Hide your kids, hide your wives!" Tyler said she was making so many sounds at them they'd start thinking she was their queen. Apparently Dani told Cody that Da'Vonne had shut down something David said about the optics of her noms, especially on top of last week's. I didn't hear that, so that's all I've got on that, at least for now. Dani visited David in Have-not and cried, saying she felt bad, that it felt personal but it wasn't. She said they'd had so many personal talks but he never talked game with her. Feeds switched to Cody and Enzo fast-talking strategy rather than letting us hear David's reaction. Feeds went to anipals 8.24pm for a half hour or so and came back to hugging and chaos. David's Disruptor was invoked, he took himself off the block (anonymously), and Dani put up Tyler in his place. She told him in HOH she was freaking out, and she "swore on everything" she doesn't want him gone, that he can win the veto, and she assured him it wasn't her plan to put him up as renom (lie). She looked to the camera and said "omg Big Brother, I hate you," and she reassured Tyler he'd have the votes to stay if he stays on the block. Recall earlier she promised Kevin the same thing. David denied having won or used the power, and told Kevin "fuck this, I don't wanna be around anybody, I'm tired, I'm just over it" and he was moping around acting depressed. It sounded like he made quite a scene when Disruptor power was announced, crying and asking that it be used on him. Unfortunately for him, Tyler told them about his ET Canada interview with Ika last year where he showed he can cry on command. Meanwhile Enzo ranted in the backyard "that's so amateur" about David, and that nobody would use a power like that on anyone but themself. Dani told Christmas she might still need a renom pawn, suggesting it'd have to be Christmas, Enzo, or Memphis, and she again guaranteed safety. Later she told similar to Memphis, who said "do Enzo." Later Dani told Nicole she now wants Tyler to stay because she "can't upset four people," and "do not tell this to Da'Vonne, David, or Kevin" as she wanted them to continue to think Tyler was her target. Dani then told Enzo about her potential need for a renom, Cody joined, and they agreed to try to get Christmas to offer herself up again like she did the week before last. Da'Vonne told Kevin about the plan to backdoor Tyler, telling him not to tell anyone else of course, and she said if Dani backdoors her she will "set this building on fire, the season ends Monday." Apparently Memphis whacked David pretty hard on the back to "congratulate" him. That wasn't on feeds but several mentioned it. A party gathered in HOH to talk about David lying, and David sat alone in the backyard muttering to himself/us, "what the fuck, fuck you, such an old brokeback ass.. I'm sorry I ain't got generational wealth, I'm sorry I don't." Cody later said he wanted confirmation it was David who had and used the Disruptor power, adding "everybody thought OJ murdered his wife, then he got off because he didn't say it." Ian and Tyler talked about last week, with Ian again saying he thinks four people tried to self-evict. He implied he was one of them, and said he was having panic attacks after Kaysar left as he had nobody else to talk non-game things with (also recall that Kaysar had filled him in on the alliances, and Nicole's betrayal). Ian said he figured he'd be okay with a day off but then he was picked to play veto, and his blood pressure shot up, and then the medic said he couldn't play due to the excessive heat that day. Nicole asked Cody if he was asked about Ian in Diary, and he said he wasn't. She said she wasn't either but Dani was. Cody said it won't be a package on the show, and "it has nothing to do with anything," and "people who were watching might have been unhappy and viewed that a certain way." He said if it's a thing, they'll deal with it when they get out. They don't know Nicole's already been dealt with by several of her sponsors. Nicole's week as a cereal box came to an end, and a skit happened about that. She pulled a bowl of SLOPPIES slop out from under her box and handed it to Ian, who said "they're gross!" (They'd worked that up earlier, and Dani later joked "mommy, where do SLOPPIES come from?") Then Nicole pulled off the box and jumped in the pool. I don't know. Dani told Cody during a late night check-in that Christmas would be her veto renom if needed.
