Day 73 - Friday, August 26
Stuffing
Corey got the fifth and final care package, $5,000 to bribe someone else to do their bidding, game-wise.. it shocked all of them, including Corey and Nicole, since he clearly doesn't need protection this week.. he also got two jock straps in his care package box
The rules were the bribe can be open or secret, it's a binding contract (the bribee must follow through as agreed), it expires at the conclusion of the next HOH comp (although the vote said "leading up to the next eviction"), and no cash can be kept if the bribe isn't used
Nomination roulette carried on with Nicole (and Corey) cycling through the various options.. Nicole told Victor and Paul that Michelle's her target, and Paul volunteered to go up as pawn (and possible bribee if needed for veto).. Michelle all but volunteered as well, by telling Nicole "if you put me up, that's fine"
Nicole, Corey, Paul, Victor solidified a new alliance "Final Final Four" which is probably fake for most if not all of them, and they did a four-way hand tap and high four release to formalize it.. James finally made his pilgrimage up the stairs, and Nicole told him she won't put up him or Natalie as original nom or renom, but she more or less told Paul she would put up James if needed after veto, and they reiterated that Michelle's a goner regardless.. Michelle either knew or guessed that, and went into full cocoon mode.. Corey will be saving his bribe for later, if needed
Nicole nominated Michelle and Paul as planned, later telling Corey she didn't know whether to stick with James/Natalie or Paul/Victor going forward.. Michelle retired to count things in the Have-not carnival room, and Paul plus Victor played it up as if they were the actual target(s) for James and Natalie.. James and Nicole each checked on Michelle who said she was fine, adding to James he and Natalie shouldn't jeopardize their own games with their votes, and "if Nicole wants me out, it is what it is"

Natalie was making gelatin and poured the entire 34-serving package into a saucepan of boiling water.. it overflowed all over the stove and even flamed up for a second - Flashback 8/26 6.05pm.. this would have been a scored event but the grill is still AWOL, and #StovetopSmackdown doesn't have the same ring
Nothing much else happened, other than James asked Natalie for a kiss if/when either is evicted and she said yes.. Nicole and Corey opened her HOH wine, Victor crashed their party and helped drink the wine, followed by Paul.. stories were told, a glass was broken, Nicole did a sippy Diary so watch for that, and Corey found out about After Dark - yes, on Day 73
James made it to midnight and he and Natalie ended his Have-not week with nice juicy burgers and fries

Day 72 - Thursday, August 25
Endurance on feeds!
Good news! Tonight's HOH comp will be an endurance, and it will be on the feeds - sign up now to watch it play out! Let's hope it's a long one.. it'll be a Trevor Boris comp, and he's made some great ones for BB Canada
It's due to start right after the show, at 7pm Pacific/10pm Eastern.. will it be a combined jury revival comp with HOH? We'll know soon enough.. Julie said last Thursday the revival (don't call it a buyback) would be "revealed" to them tomorrow night, but the narrator closed Wednesday's show with "jurors return to battle it out" and "it all happens live on Thursday".. again, we'll know when we know, the main thing is endurance on feeds, yay!
They changed the voting times for the fifth and final care package for the second time - now it opens at midnight Pacific/3am Eastern and closes sometime Friday, so it will definitely include the revived hamster but possibly not the HOH winner
As always on a live show day, I'll update Power Status above as things happen, and catch up the rest of the page later
But first
Pre-show feeds were hopping, as Nicole snapped at James about how he should do whatever he wants and she's tired of hearing that he thinks she's sketchy, and then things kicked into high gear when James kind of called out Paul about some of last night's back and forth.. Michelle jumped in and had a few name-calling rounds with Paul, then she went off to eavesdrop from safari lounge for a long Paul versus Natalie he said/she said session - Flashback 8/25 2.07pm.. before it was over, the c-word came up (Paul to Michelle), as did Corey's alleged and notorious d-sucking to the end comment (about Natalie and James)
Reminder, Paul and Victor cooked up a plan to make the others think they've split up as game partners, and of course Paul likes to get them rattled before a big comp
Here we go again
Julie threw some shade at James and at Paulie, and gave us not one but two jury house segments featuring Paulie's arrival plus the ladies giving him a good smackdown.. Victor was evicted 2-1 with Paul the only dissenter (again), but she sent him right back in again with Da'Vonne, Zakiyah, Bridgette, and Paulie for the HOH comp
It was the tilty wall endurance, this time titled Welcome to Loch Mess with Nessie decor and fire hose tentacles.. the last surviving juror would be revived, and the last standing among jurors or currents would be HOH.. it began approximately 6.50pm and at 7.09pm Da'Vonne and Zakiyah clasped hands and did a suicide leap, apparently over it all
The remaining drops were as follows: Corey 7.16pm, Bridgette 7.25, Paulie 7.40pm - making Victor the first two-time revived hamster in a single season.. Victor came off at 7.41pm, Paul at 8.27pm, and James came off at 8.55 making Nicole the new HOH

Along the way, Nicole's mascara ran pretty badly from the fire hoses, earning her some comical screenshots; Michelle caused more fishies than most by constant production talk while she and Natalie were observing; when they came in from the comp, Corey had gone to black 'n white on the photo wall - he didn't like that much, but I did; Victor's Have-not ended a day early; and one fight, one revival, and three CBS goofs were added today to my tallies way down below
Michelle had a meltdown to herself/us about Paul touching her clothes again/still, she's a failure and embarrassment to the game, she doesn't want to look at social media or do anything with the show when she's out, and she wishes she was on any other season because this one's too hard (welcome to Big Brother).. Nicole finally got her room and goodies, including a letter from her momma, a dream catcher she made, Alanis Morissette music, and the usual assortment of food and candy - Flashback 8/26 1.54am

Nicole pitched Michelle as target to Paul, who said personally he'd like that but strategically there's no reason for her to go yet, and James or Natalie would be better.. Michelle went back to crying, alone in her bed and then taking her woes to Natalie, as Paul and Victor talked noms with Nicole (and Corey).. I'm not sticking around for all the noms talks, as it'll all be regurgitated tomorrow and it'll start over again when the final care package arrives

Australian Survivor, and Big Brother Australia
Photo: tenplay.com.au
Australia's premiere season of Survivor has kicked off, and is already getting good reviews and positive comparisons to early USA seasons.. you can watch online at Australian Survivor official site.. outside Australia, use HideMyAss and connect to an Australian server
Unfortunately, Big Brother Australia is on hiatus, possibly permanently, but they used to do the hamsters-in-a-house concept better than most.. their 2013 season is my all-time favorite BB ever, and I can't recommend it highly enough.. here's the premiere to get you hooked started.. all episodes are on YouTube but from a few different uploaders.. there is a playlist but it skips a few episodes, so just YouTube search: Big Brother Australia 2013 and remember which ep you're on.. I promise you won't regret it
Celebrity Big Brother
Another celeb series kicked off July 28! Outside UK, use Hide My Ass to watch live or archive shows and clips.. there are loads of other VPNs out there but I use and recommend HMA because it's safe, secure, and easy to use (just select a UK server), available for multiple platforms, plus they have great customer service for questions or problems
You can watch live at Channel 5's online live stream link.. shows are usually daily, plus Bit on the Side talk show and an hour live from the house, but check the air show schedule - remember UK time is 8 hours ahead of Pacific and 5 hours ahead of Eastern.. the official site has archive air shows and talk shows, highlights, previews, and info
The season wrapped on August 26 after 30 days.. as always, most of the cast is controversial or has featured in highly publicized scandals - Google is your friend.. in order of intro/entry, including eviction and finalists order:
Christopher Biggins - actor/comedian - ejected Day 8
Saira Khan - reality tv - evicted Day 13
Frankie Grande - brother/USA Big Brother 16 - 6th place Day 30

Ratings - Comp-a-rama edition
Ratings are based on entertainment value
VTE = Voted to evict

Cumulative ups for the comps team, from Black Box to BB Weather to Loch Mess, it's been a good run lately and I'm very grateful the revival/endurance was on feeds. And how about that jury house slime edit for Paulie, and the shade Julie threw at both him and James? Breaking rules, refusing tasks, mouthing off at production, and openly talking about prize sharing are all good ways to earn those things. Life lesson most of us learned as children: don't bite the hand that feeds, or pee in their pool.

Won: $2,500; Care Package #5 $5k bribe; 1 week patriotard TEAM FREAKAZOID
No vote (nominee)
I got nothing.
|

Won: $5,000.25; Care Package #2 nullify 2 votes; Immunity 1st 2 evictions TEAM UNICORN
VTE Victor
He could have/should have evicted Corey but then we might have ended up with Paulie again, so I guess that worked out okay after all.
|

Won: $0.25; Care Package #4 co-HOH; Black Box 30-second bonus; 8 days pixel suit; Outback dinner TEAM CATEGORY 4
No vote (Co-HOH)
NOMINATED
To paraphrase Douglas Adams, thanks for all the fishies.

Won: $0.25; Care Package #1: Never-not; Immunity 1st 2 evictions TEAM UNICORN
No vote (HOH)
She had a relatively severe case of HOHitis but it seems to be fading without The Big Fall some of them take (Michelle, for instance).
|

Won: $2,507.50; Trip to Anywhere USA; Care Package #3 1 week immunity plus safety costume TEAM FREAKAZOID
VTE Victor
HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD
Ups for a hard-won comp, even if James gave it to her at the end. I'm over her, and I'm really over her and Corey, but she hung in there on that wall and deserves credit for it. A feature about her and Corey's 'cuddling' was posted on CBS site and another to this week's Jeffish loops that will mortify her.. oh well? It's not like she didn't know what she was getting into.
|

Won: $500; 1 week secret service; Outback dinner (guest) TEAM BIG SISTER
VTE Corey
NOMINATED
Ups for drama and good feeds all week, even if he goes too far or comes on too strong at times. He's the only one who's playing Big Brother the way it was designed to be played, and he deserves kudos for that. He and Victor came really close to flipping this vote, and the damage they caused with all that is why Nicole and James kept going an extra half hour after everyone else came off.
|

Won: $500; TV/tablet/phone; 2 Revivals; Immunity 1st 2 evictions TEAM UNICORN
EVICTED 2-1 - REVIVED
See Paul as far as this week's shenanigans, and giant kudos for being revived a second time in a single season! That's an incredible record, and I'm glad he's the one who now holds it. Sure maybe it's not right or fair that someone twice evicted still has a shot to go all the way, but in this oh-so-twisty season and its crappy cast, who cares? 'It is what it is' and at least we got another chance at not being stuck with only pewky showmances for the rest of it.
|

Won: $1,000*; TV/tablet/phone*; Make apple pies (6); 8 days pixel suit; Outback dinner *Per feeds/not shown on CBS TEAM CATEGORY 4
He gave Cody and Derrick more airtime than they had on BB16. He had the most raging case of HOHitis we've seen in ages, never mind that most of them just let him think he was driving so they didn't have to. His smugness was out of control, he was obsessed with saying Tiffany was really Vanessa, he had issues with Bridgette being a feminist, and he self-directed a World's Worst Haircut to launch his mini-me Paul era. He cuddled and more with Zakiyah while plotting against her, he berated her when she confronted him about being so hot and cold, and he bragged to his boys that he 'boned' her all over the habitat. He peed in the hot tub, refused to make pie, cried when he lost, and he picked up Julie a foot off the ground.
|

Won: 8 days pixel suit; Outback dinner TEAM CATEGORY 4
She was super perky and upbeat, with a dark side that was fun and fascinating. She was in a pixel bikini when feeds began, and she formed a solid friendship/alliance with Bronte and Natalie. She baked cookies nonstop and gathered intel for the Spygirls as everyone overlooked her and gametalked around her in the kitchen. Michelle hated her over a misunderstood eyebrows comment, and then Bridgette became everyone's target when she buddied up with Frank and won an HOH and veto the same week. But she survived two evictions after his, and openly confronted Michelle about their drama, eventually winning her over. She embraced Tiffany's Cabbage Patch tag, and she'll be missed.
|

Won: Outback dinner (guest) TEAM BIG SISTER
Stunningly gorgeous plus photogenic, she came in as a fan since BB3 but said she was up for a showmance. She focused on the latter when she took a shine to Paulie, and that progressed from awkward overlong hugs to bumping in bumpercars. He gave her several verbal beatdowns but she kept going back for more, even as he plotted her demise with his boys. She also took a shine to a stuffed giraffe and gave it a birthday party, and she formed a couple friendships that might last beyond BB, notably with Da'Vonne and Michelle. Game-wise she didn't do much and she went eight consecutive shows with no Diaries. She had a Murphree-esque mirror routine but she avoided #Deathrace2016 - best stunt hair to date.
|

Won: Outback dinner (guest) TEAM BIG SISTER
She lasted longer than last time, but not as long as she hoped. Like Frank and Nicole, she started gaming too hard and turning on her fellow vets, when the four of them could have steamrolled the eejit noobs and gone all the way. Da'Vonne played better than some, planting little poison seedbombs against others that took root and grew, but they came back to bite her. She gave us good Diaries again, creative turns of phrase, hair flips, deadly if-looks-could-kill glares, reaction faces deluxe, and occasional belly laughs. Now and then she dropped her game face and gave us a funny, relaxed one instead, and it was always good to see.
|

Won: 8 days pixel suit; Outback dinner TEAM CATEGORY 4
He made a rookie mistake by playing too hard and fast, way too early, when he should have laid low and enjoyed the safety that was handed to him. But he played for his life last time, and he was mentored by the sidekick rather than the master. His social game was the best of the bunch till he got in trouble for slapping asses and being mouthy, but he's not a bad guy overall and his exit was a fatal hit for the feeds. Pixels were his third costume, a hamster record (until Nicole tied it). His friendship with Bridgette was fun to watch, with funky movie retells and baking, and every random topic under the sun.
|

Won: $2,500 TEAM FREAKAZOID
She came in looking and sounding so much like Vanessa it was spooky, but it didn't take long to realize her game was more Audrey-style chaos and sabotage than poker-faced strategy. Paulie's the only one who didn't get that memo but that's Paulie for you. Two weeks in a row she didn't campaign to save herself nearly as much as others campaigned for her, but when she transformed into Free Agent IDGAF Tiffany it was a joy to behold. I'm surprised #They let one of the six stuntcasts go before jury, but it just goes to show the whole thing isn't as rigged as some believe.
|

Won: Immunity 1st 2 evictions TEAM UNICORN
She went in saying she'd use behavioral sciences to maneuver her way to the win but she spent most of her time with Bridgette and Natalie who were barely playing BB. Her huge confession to them about being the 'secret nerd' and aspiring mathematician was just silly, and she'll always be remembered for not knowing what 9x9 is. She didn't bring much to the table beyond her abnormally high voice and hair bows, and even the hair bows didn't stick around. She seems like a pleasant enough person but like so many others, she should have gone on a dating show instead.
|

Won: Nothing TEAM BIG SISTER
One of the most delusional hamsters ever (and that's saying something), he was convinced he owned the house, he was the messiah of the newbies, the savior, the sanctuary, and the next Mario Lopez. He wore his doggie comp suit for days, but mostly he just wore underpants. His gametalks with Paul and Victor were pure comedy since they had no clue whatsoever how far out of every loop they were, and The Jozea and Paul Talk Show concluded with the two of them roaming the house looking for a camera that worked. Jozea's shtick got old fast for many, but he was feeds gold for trainwreck fans like myself.
|

Won: $2,500 TEAM FREAKAZOID
I didn't like having to combine an intro with an obit, but that's how the dog biscuit crumbles. He seemed like a fun guy with potential for fun feeds, especially his admission that he'd be 'willing to flirt if necessary' but he also might have gotten into heated political discussions, and BB is not the place for that. He didn't technically get Jodi'd since he got to compete twice, but gone before feeds is never good, and neither is trial by combat. Too bad the token older/regular person/fan got the first boot but young, pretty, hormonal hamsters are all the rage anymore.
