Day 64 - Wednesday, August 17

Fly pie

Paulie got a wakeup call in the form of a PIE SIGNAL at 12.48pm and crawled out of bed to don his outfit, gather his parts, and chop his apples.. a fly was hopping around his pie dish and crust as he was chopping, but no telling if it ended up inside the pie when it got baked or not

Speaking of getting baked, CBS announced the Friday show would indeed be their Monday night county fair, featuring a performance by Ziggy Marley.. many took this as "confirmation" that Paulie has the Round Trip ticket since he'll be evicted Thursday, but cross-promo events don't necessarily worry about continuity.. we'll see

Once again, if your local CBS pre-empts BB for football check your local listings for alternate channels and/or later airing time on CBS.. I always have several online stream links on the left sidebar - never know which will work or not until the show starts, but no downloads or logins are needed for any of them.. welcome to westies problems for every show

A slowish afternoon and evening didn't bring much other than some weak campaigning by Corey and futile campaigning by Paulie, but then they picked up a bit with a RED ALERT around 9.22pm.. several runners were caught but James got away again.. Paul used his pelican to peer around corners but then the blowup bird tragically flew off the balcony as James was being apprehended

Victor did his Baldwin eagle routine again in the UK room for a few of them, and then Paul took over the puppet with a run-through of his spot-on impressions of them all, all the way back to Glenn, around 10pm.. Paulie came in and asked what his was.. they didn't tell him it mostly consisted of "next week, next week" but instead said it was "Cody & Derrick, Cody & Derrick, CBS loves them".. Paulie replied, sincerely, that he'd only said that once.. WHAT?!

Then they took the show on the road, and did a full-scale living room puppet show for everyone, repeating and expanding Paul's impressions plus another reprisal of Victor's GIMME MY MONEY routine, and a good time was had by all - Flashback 8/17 10.38pm.. there were no more pies

Day 63 - Tuesday, August 16

Frisky morning

RED ALERTs got underway early, at 5.05am and again at 5.31am.. for the first one, James hid behind a chair in UK room (in the dark) and Michelle hid in the safari lounge table/box/ottoman.. she resisted arrest when found and wielded her own finger-gun.. then James made a bed-body with melon head and boots so BB called for a second RED ALERT and James hid himself under the anime room bed in the infamous Paulie/Natalie hide 'n seek spot

Paulie went strip search starkers for that second RED ALERT - no, I don't know why, maybe he thought it would help his campaign or something.. Paul laughed when he saw it, the pelican went flying, and the pat-down was a delicate one

Later Natalie was sick (unrelated), due to her sore neck pain, OTC painkillers not sitting well on top of candy, cramps, and stress.. James took very good care of her

The camera came out but most of them were napping so Victor decided to do it solo

He did selfies with Paulie's pie outfit and accessories, Nicole's safety suit, his HOH robe, shampoo horns, and quite a few with Paul's pelican including a nominee chair block party.. he turned it into an art form and produced the finest set of HOH pics since BB11 Ronnie Talbott

Mid-season milestone

They were sent outside before the long comp-build lockdown began, and we found out why before they did: beefcakes were caught on feeds swapping out the big table for the middle size table for eight.. of course they were happy to have reached that milestone, and another goof was added to my tally below

Corey and Nicole donned their hot weather/swimming costumes.. Corey had been worried the 2XL Speedo they gave him would be too big and floppy, but it was tight and uncomfortable, and he was suitably embarrassed by it.. Nicole had an orange bikini with caped coverup, and it was as cute as her full safety suit

There was another RED ALERT at 2.14pm and James hid again, behind the trash can in the pantry this time.. Natalie continued to feel poorly and was called into Diary for some help

After a sleepy afternoon, Paulie finally got another PIE SIGNAL at 6.35pm.. it seemed he was going to start with a fresh attitude, announcing "I'll just get my handy dandy little chef's hat" but then he reverted back to WTF Paulie by dropping his shorts

The others thought that was hilarious and called for a RED ALERT and BB gave it to them.. Paulie ran from Paul but he finally caught up and did the second delicate pat-down today of a (mostly) nekkid Paulie.. he put his shorts back on for the rest of the pie-making

A legit highlight came a bit later when Victor puppeted Corey's eagle in a spontaneous skit that was very funny.. he began with "fuck you James!" and went from there into a full routine, without skipping a beat, about needing the money James owes him.. the others were in stitches along with everyone watching - Flashback 8/16 7.36pm

Day 62 - Monday, August 15

Solo pie

Paulie got an early PIE SIGNAL and made his pie on his own.. he didn't pout over it and he actually took a little care with it, tucking his apple pieces in his pie crust just so.. he sat up in bed with Corey and held his little flag up more than he waved it, but it was all a big improvement from where he started

Victor did not use his veto, as expected, and there was a RED ALERT at the veto meeting.. James retired to his bed after the meeting, upset.. I think Paulie said something at the meeting about dead/dying relatives, and James was definitely annoyed that Paulie tried to get everyone to turn on him, plus maybe there was still some tension with Natalie

Hot weather costumes arrived: shorts and sleeveless shirt/jacket for Paul's suit, and summer/swimming unitards for Nicole and Corey - both still had capes, of course.. Nicole was told or realized her traffic cone resembles a witch's hat and she didn't love her outfit quite as much as before.. Victor and Corey cleaned out the fridge, no minor task

Paul put in some solid jury management time with Paulie, and Paulie made a couple cracks about "cracking people's faces" cameras or not - Nicole said no.. Paul laid out the plan to James and Natalie about worrying Corey (and Nicole) a bit.. Nicole was feisty and sassy like her old usual self and it was good to see that again.. Natalie told James she hopes there's no comments out here about how much weight she's gained (I haven't seen one - her constant talk about it tho..)

Feeds went down around 5pm for a county fair party and a visit from Ziggy Marley? It sounded like he'd be there anyway.. maybe a couple of them will get to his Tuesday show in LA, and/or maybe he'll feature in the mysterious Friday show.. I think Ziggy's great in his own right and of course he represents a tremendous musical legacy, but he seems like an odd choice for a show that casts and panders to viewers who'd rather see someone more trendy with the young 'uns, but they didn't ask me

Two or three hours later they came back a bit sippy and full of candy and churros.. they drew numbered pies and Michelle and James will be Have-not again next week along with Victor and Paulie (if he survives or boomerangs).. Michelle danced onstage as Ziggy performed, Paulie got a tv, tablet and phone, Paul got a Ziggy guitar pick, and somebody will have an "advantage" at some point.. it's all hard to pin down, partly because constant fishies whenever they talked about it.. Natalie hurt her neck getting ready for it, and Jessie Godderz showed up again, like he does

Afterwards, Paulie revved up his loops again/still and most of them took to their beds, until a RED ALERT at 9.30pm and a PIE SIGNAL at 10.02pm - it was another solo pie, but instead of using the prefab lattice top, Paulie used a second pie crust to top it and he gingerly poked a few fork holes in a little diamond pattern.. he used some of his baking/flag waving time to scrape the uneaten remains of his previous pie(s) into the trash

Celebrity Big Brother

Another celeb series kicked off July 28! Outside UK, use Hide My Ass to watch live or archive shows and clips.. there are loads of other VPNs out there but I use and recommend HMA because it's safe, secure, and easy to use (just select a UK server), available for multiple platforms, plus they have great customer service for questions or problems

You can watch live at Channel 5's online live stream link.. shows are usually daily, plus Bit on the Side talk show and an hour live from the house, but check the air show schedule - remember UK time is 8 hours ahead of Pacific and 5 hours ahead of Eastern.. the official site has archive air shows and talk shows, highlights, previews, and info

Ratings - If Only edition

Ratings are based on wishful thinking

If only they wouldn't indulge Paulie on his pie task, his special treatment wouldn't be quite so obvious. But they did come through with a long-awaited smear edit Sunday, and he's provided lots of material for more of the same since then.
Update: They went with 'poor Paulie' edit on Wednesday rather than accurately showing the entitled asshat refusing to make a damn pie.. bah.

Won: $2,500; 1 week patriotard

If only he wouldn't talk about burning goats, burning forests, and being drunk with his boys, he'd be almost intolerable. Not counting the constant macking with Nicole, of course. His costume does suit him well, I'll give him that, but he's slacking on the accessories.

Won: $5,000; care package #2; immunity 1st 2 evictions; nullify 2 votes

If only he hadn't taught Natalie about 'hello America' and encouraged her with that, they wouldn't be doing it several times a day now. But he was a prince with her when she was feeling poorly, and he popped out some movie-quality lines to boot.

Won: 8 days pixel suit; Outback dinner

If only she didn't sleep 20 hours a day.

Won: Care package #1; Immunity 1st 2 evictions; Never-Not Pass

See James. Also, if only she didn't complain so much about her weight, nobody would bat an eye at the one or two ounces she may have gained in there.

Won: $2,500; trip to Anywhere USA; Care package #3; 1 week immunity plus safety costume

If only she didn't complain about everything except Corey, and if only she didn't spend 24/7 in bed with him doing the slurpydurp and lord knows what else, she might have been more aware of what's been going on and had a shot to last another week or two.

Won: 1 week secret service; Outback dinner (guest)

If only he didn't boast so much or so loud when he gets going, it'd be easier to notice he's really an intelligent and occasionally fascinating fellow. But all is forgiven because of how incredibly well he rocks his RED ALERTs.

Won: 8 days pixel suit; apple pies til the end; Outback dinner

If only he'd gone out that first eviction when he was on the block against Jozea and Bridgette.

Won: Revival; immunity 1st 2 evictions

If only he didn't bring up his Instagram all the time and all the new followers and meet 'n greets he's expecting. But all was forgiven when he went through with his noms and then won the veto. I strongly endorse him for care package #4 because he can't win HOH, and he's the only one we can count on to be gutsy enough to finish the job.

Won: 8 days pixel suit; Outback dinner

She was super perky and upbeat, with a dark side that was fun and fascinating. She was in a pixel bikini when feeds began, and she formed a solid friendship/alliance with Bronte and Natalie. She baked cookies nonstop and gathered intel for the Spygirls as everyone overlooked her and gametalked around her in the kitchen. Michelle hated her over a misunderstood eyebrows comment, and then Bridgette became everyone's target when she buddied up with Frank and won an HOH and veto the same week. But she survived two evictions after his, and openly confronted Michelle about their drama, eventually winning her over. She embraced Tiffany's Cabbage Patch tag, and she'll be missed.

Won: Outback dinner (guest)

Stunningly gorgeous plus photogenic, she came in as a fan since BB3 but said she was up for a showmance. She focused on the latter when she took a shine to Paulie, and that progressed from awkward overlong hugs to bumping in bumpercars. He gave her several verbal beatdowns but she kept going back for more, even as he plotted her demise with his boys. She also took a shine to a stuffed giraffe and gave it a birthday party, and she formed a couple friendships that might last beyond BB, notably with Da'Vonne and Michelle. Game-wise she didn't do much and she went eight consecutive shows with no Diaries. She had a Murphree-esque mirror routine but she avoided #Deathrace2016 - best stunt hair to date.

Won: Outback dinner (guest)

She lasted longer than last time, but not as long as she hoped. Like Frank and Nicole, she started gaming too hard and turning on her fellow vets, when the four of them could have steamrolled the eejit noobs and gone all the way. Da'Vonne played better than some, planting little poison seedbombs against others that took root and grew, but they came back to bite her. She gave us good Diaries again, creative turns of phrase, hair flips, deadly if-looks-could-kill glares, reaction faces deluxe, and occasional belly laughs. Now and then she dropped her game face and gave us a funny, relaxed one instead, and it was always good to see.

Won: 8 days pixel suit; Outback dinner

He made a rookie mistake by playing too hard and fast, way too early, when he should have laid low and enjoyed the safety that was handed to him. But he played for his life last time, and he was mentored by the sidekick rather than the master. His social game was the best of the bunch till he got in trouble for slapping asses and being mouthy, but he's not a bad guy overall and his exit was a fatal hit for the feeds. Pixels were his third costume, a hamster record (until Nicole tied it). His friendship with Bridgette was fun to watch, with funky movie retells and baking, and every random topic under the sun.

Won: $2,500

She came in looking and sounding so much like Vanessa it was spooky, but it didn't take long to realize her game was more Audrey-style chaos and sabotage than poker-faced strategy. Paulie's the only one who didn't get that memo but that's Paulie for you. Two weeks in a row she didn't campaign to save herself nearly as much as others campaigned for her, but when she transformed into Free Agent IDGAF Tiffany it was a joy to behold. I'm surprised #They let one of the six stuntcasts go before jury, but it just goes to show the whole thing isn't as rigged as some believe.

Won: Immunity 1st 2 evictions

She went in saying she'd use behavioral sciences to maneuver her way to the win but she spent most of her time with Bridgette and Natalie who were barely playing BB. Her huge confession to them about being the 'secret nerd' and aspiring mathematician was just silly, and she'll always be remembered for not knowing what 9x9 is. She didn't bring much to the table beyond her abnormally high voice and hair bows, and even the hair bows didn't stick around. She seems like a pleasant enough person but like so many others, she should have gone on a dating show instead.

Won: Nothing

One of the most delusional hamsters ever (and that's saying something), he was convinced he owned the house, he was the messiah of the newbies, the savior, the sanctuary, and the next Mario Lopez. He wore his doggie comp suit for days, but mostly he just wore underpants. His gametalks with Paul and Victor were pure comedy since they had no clue whatsoever how far out of every loop they were, and The Jozea and Paul Talk Show concluded with the two of them roaming the house looking for a camera that worked. Jozea's shtick got old fast for many, but he was feeds gold for trainwreck fans like myself.

Won: $2,500

I didn't like having to combine an intro with an obit, but that's how the dog biscuit crumbles. He seemed like a fun guy with potential for fun feeds, especially his admission that he'd be 'willing to flirt if necessary' but he also might have gotten into heated political discussions, and BB is not the place for that. He didn't technically get Jodi'd since he got to compete twice, but gone before feeds is never good, and neither is trial by combat. Too bad the token older/regular person/fan got the first boot but young, pretty, hormonal hamsters are all the rage anymore.

The recorded in-house announcements are the voice of producer Don Wollman. He and Julie Chen are the only staffers who have been there since Big Brother 1.

and other pets. Never put it on or near a television, radio or hi-fi, or a fridge."
