Re-entry and/or relapse

Fishies finally swim away at 9pm BB time/midnight EDT, after robbing us of whatever viewing torture we missed.. workerbees who only have evenings and weekends for the feeds were especially hard hit

For some of us though, the forced break from the habit was maybe not such a bad thing.. but we're back on the hard stuff again as if we'd never quit

They give us true quad fishies for the first view back, but from inside the house - oooh aahhhh.. somebody in Creative Dept had a brainstorm on that one.. or maybe a consulting firm was called in

We arrive to find Janelle & Rachel talking about veto - tomorrow - and soon deduce that Rachel & Howie are nominated.. Janelle moves on to chat friendly with April, who moves on to chat friendly with Howie: what a difference a day and a half makes

Janelle, Rachel & Howie have a quick meeting.. Howie gives Beau a howdy, then pays a call to HOH with Janelle.. Beau shows them around the place

Janelle: The best scenario would be me win it and James goes up.. I have to win it and take Howie off
James (walking by): No comment, you guys are up to something
Rachel: What?
James: First I was competing, now I'm not competing

Beau's just fabulous in his HOH bathrobe til they leave and Maggie ("I don't believe in body language theories") wheedles some info from him, easily

Beau: Somebody told me that April has joined their side already
Maggie: Who told you?
Beau: Two people
Maggie: James and who?
Beau: Howie
Maggie: I would never assume that's right.. he just wants to be assured he's not being backdoored
Beau: Right now we want Rachel & Howie gone

The co-minions are apprised of the latest emergency (Howie & Janelle's visit) and fly into panic/assault/defense mode, like they do.. James goes solo

'The cheese stands alone' springs to mind for this James pic

The teams meet and mingle here & there, peacefully - they bitch about the others when they're alone again, as usual.. nobody mentions Jennifer.. lots of talk about veto and "what if's" - I can't be bothered to keep up, it'll all change.. they try to figure out what's still in the gumball machine

April's still April - 36 hours didn't change anything - she's not nominated but could be any minute, so she's getting all worked up again, like she does.. this time it's about that horrible Janelle dropping towels in the shower.. even Maggie tells her to let it go

Things are happier at the hot tub, where Howie reminds Rachel what a kickass player Janelle's been.. Rachel agrees.. Janelle joins them and he reminds her too.. they all do a "what up Kaysar!!"

Howie: Kaysar was brilliant, but Janelle is the complete player in this game: athletic, bright, she stands up for herself, she dominates.. she's pulled it off in this game
Rachel: And she's a bombshell
Howie: She's the complete player.. she's been on the block every week!
Rachel: Every other week
....
Janelle: Hey Howieeee, you beefcake
Howie: Hi Janeeeeey, you buxom blonde bombshell

Rachel taps on the HOH door and tells them one of the fishies they thought was dead is all better again.. Ivette rushes off to see.. Maggie says they can look on the spyscreen but April joins the bigger group downstairs to look - Beau & Maggie don't - feedsters want to slap them all for looking at the fishies on purpose

Maybe the dead fishie was just replaced with a new one.. (please pardon crappy quad shots again)

Full house

They're playing poker in HOH.. Maggie's teaching the others how to play.. she looks to a camera and asks "Hey you guys, Big Brother, does a full house beat a flush?"

It's disturbing that they have both decks of cards, after Maggie was so adamant about keeping their deck tucked away so the others wouldn't take it

Maggie's dark roots are getting serious - it's a wonder Ivette doesn't bust her for not being "all natural".. April seems to be having more fun than Beau, but at least he gets to sleep in a bed again - Maggie & April are on the floor this time

Howie & Janelle study in the backyard while working out.. Howie talks to Rachel for awhile - she lists her wins and accomplishments thus far in the game, and says it's been a wonderful experience even if she gets booted out.. Janelle joins them.. Howie goes to get something from the pimp room and wakes James who also joins them like he's one of them again.. he looks a little creepy in the night vision tonight

Janelle then talks to James for a long time in the pimp room.. she's got that floated-off-a-calendar thing going again, and they laugh about a lot of stuff too.. he gets some info from her but she gets more from him.. upstairs Maggie sleeps butt-high and April calls out "oh shit", flailing around in her sleep

CBS and/or the producers alienated a big chunk of their audience this weekend with the fishie-thon. Even if the majority of tv viewers aren't aware of the whole mess it's not a good business practice to take back what loyal customers have paid for.

Editors
There was no reason to withhold almost 36 hours of feeds from us, other than to ensure everyone watched Saturday's show since their 82% meal ticket left on Thursday. Everyone watches the show anyway, and everyone knows Saturday's 'live' show was recorded Friday. The show itself was lackluster and still made it look as if Howie & Janelle's attacks were unprovoked onto innocent victims, as they've never aired any of the coven's 4-hour hate tirades. Jennifer was dealt with harshly at least, and deservedly - that's what happens when you trashtalk the producers (her employers) as much as she did. Propping her little photo up next to her didn't fool anyone - even Julie sounded condescending about that - but she let her get away relatively easy, given the stuff that Jenn pulled in the house going all the way back to Michael. I still think the air shows are slanted toward Ivette, James, and/or Maggie and against Janelle, Howie, and to a lesser degree Rachel. Even when I try hard to view it objectively, it still smells bad to me.. smells like nepotism. To their credit, they did air the coven's pissy refusal to attend Janelle's room debut and reran Jennifer's childish key toss, but they made even those seem more justified than they were. Janelle's short HOH reign was withheld from the feeds, we didn't even get to see more than a few minutes of it on Thursday night before they pulled the plug, and Julie didn't have an HOH Q&A with her: what's up with that?

April
Good thing she DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THE MONEY cuz she's not getting a million now. It'll be even more fun to watch her wobbble now that she's a solo act with no true allies in there. She's already talking friendly to everyone including her sworn enemies James & Howie cuz she'll suck up to anyone who might be able to help her, and she's just as fast to turn around and bitch about them behind their backs.. don't think that's lost on the ones she bitches to.

Beau
HEAD of HOUSEHOLD
Sad but true fact: he's now more qualified than Cowboy for a second place finish.

Howie
NOMINATED
We didn't see his reaction to being nominated, but he seems ok with it from what we've seen. Most seem to assume he'll be gone if he isn't veto'd off but I think the coven's sights are set on Rachel. None of them care much about Howie's attacks on April since they know it's all true (and they have to listen to her 24/7 - no fishies!) and as much as they might be afraid he'll do the same to them, they've all enjoyed Howie for the most part like we have, for the most part. He wasn't very high energy or as fun as we like tonight, so he stays neutralized.

Ivette
I'm told I should give her ups for her game, but I'm mostly about entertainment value and she doesn't have much. She's been driving the coven for weeks and content to let Maggie get credit for it, and she's the only one on her team who doesn't care what's said about her - that's a huge strength in this game, and a big reason Janelle, Howie & James continue to thrive. But she's no fun to watch, and she's beyond annoying 90% of the time so it's a compromise at neutral.

James
He's all chummy with everyone again, and afraid he's about to get back-doored again. Have you noticed how many of his daily sidebar pics are him laying down? That's about all he does anymore.. he's gonna sleep his way to the win just like Drew. He's more than happy to lie around and wait for the dust to settle after the two teams fight each other to the death.. he only wakes up long enough to add a little ammunition to each side now & then when it suits his purposes. He's playing it smart, but he's a snake and worse: he's boring and predictable.

Janelle
It was a quiet night for her but courtesy ups to balance CBS ignoring her well-earned HOH tenure. Bad enough it was just an overnight reign, but all but a few minutes in HOH that night was withheld from the feeds before they went dark, and Julie didn't even do the requisite Q&A in the HOH room with her.. that could have been faked as easily as the 'live' vote was for Saturday's phony 'live' show. In spite of editing attempts to discredit her (in my opinion), she owned the show for those who know her, with her Kaysar-esque removal of Maggie from the eviction chair as well as 'I vote to evict.. oops I mean nominate Ivette'. She's not perfect (who is?) but she's a breath of fresh air in that house, and we sure need that this year.

Maggie
In a few short hours she bullied HOH Beau into giving up some info he was saving for Ivette and she asked BB how to play the poker game she was hosting. She sat on the HOH poker bed with a good 1½" of dark roots but lets her supposed minions bitch for days about Janelle's 'fake' and 'bleached' hair: proof simple that she's not in charge of them at all. (Also more proof that Janelle's smarter: she brought touch-up supplies.) Her face when she got veto'd as she'd just requested was one of the better moments of tonight's show, and instead of making them think Janelle might be smarter than themselves, they just chalked it up to her being a dumb bimbo again like the dumb bimbos they are. It says a lot that the Friendship of Five didn't even mention missing member Jennifer tonight.

Rachel
NOMINATED
Neutralized cuz I didn't see much of her after the feeds came back and from what I did see, she didn't appear to be as nasty toward Janelle nor as bossy of Howie as she's been lately. She did come across on the show as being his mom or his domme, and not in a nice way. She seemed anxious to confirm to James tonight that he wouldn't be backdoor'd if they win the veto, but I don't think she's aware that she's been a bigger target for the crones than James for 2 or 3 weeks now. The current plan if Janelle wins veto is to remove Howie: I think if that happens Rachel will be walking the plank to Julie's boudoir on Thursday, but what do I know? She seems to be taking her nom better than last time and that's good to see.

Jennifer

She wanted to 'stir up the house like Kaysar did' but instead she stirred up everyone with a whopper of a lie to America's Choice, and she took out his partner with a huge lie of omission. So long Jenn and remember, roses really smell like poo poo.

Kaysar

America's Choice by 82% (at least) but he was out 4th and 6th. He turned the game on its ear, took out an emperor, and fell for Janelle overnights but was taken out by the cheerleader who took out his partner because she cried. He's a class act and did it all with brains, humor and integrity.

Sarah

She was too young & too naive to be in there but held up well considering she played with the boyfriend from hell. I'm glad she got out early and alive.

Eric

Maybe the poorest loser in BB history but he gave us the best fight sequence. He said it nonstop but he never understood that 'it's just a game'.

Michael

Not blameless but not the villain they made him out to be either. He had funny voices, 'The Continental' and Janelle - plus the best hoax of the season.

Ashlea

There's never much to say about the first out except they're gone. She blabbed too much so she wouldn't have lasted long but she was fun while she was there.

I love keeping tabs on the feeds during summer, and wish I didn't have to do this.. but the reality is it takes a ton of time that I can't really afford to give away. This site isn't necessarily about who should win, who will win, who I'd be friends with, or who is cute. It's about watching hamsters: which ones are doing what and why, which are fun and which are dull. If they aren't entertaining, get rid of 'em! Thanks for encouraging my behavior.. that dingo
