Watch Big Brother 13 on SuperPass! Daily Hamsterwatch
I don't care who wins, I'm just here for the cheap entertainment.. the cheaper, the better
This site is about the Big Brother 13 feeds and contains spoilers! It isn't necessarily thorough: it's what I catch and/or what interests me, and it isn't necessarily about who will win, who should win, who's cute or who's horrid. It's about watching hamsters: who's doing what and why. If they aren't entertaining, get rid of 'em! Thanks for encouraging my behavior. Your pal, dingo

Jordan evicted 1-0
Rachel won Final HOH Part 1

Take a swig whenever someone says one or more of them don't deserve to be in F3 - take two when someone says one or more of them do

Duos were reinstated for one week after Porsche opened Pandora's Box.

Brendon was revived a week after eviction after apparently beating the other three evictees to date in a CBS poll, and beating August 11 evictee Lawon in a live ball-chute comp.

They called Adam's elf Cruddy and his beardless look Phillip.

Brendon's knees got messed up from the food comp with the ant costumes.

They called Dominic PT for pre-teen, a running gag about how young he looks, and/or part-time, referring to his modeling career.

Nominations & veto were pairs-based until there were 10 left.

The evictee's surviving partner got one of four Golden Keys, meaning they couldn't be nominated or play for HOH until there were 10 left.

Dick left mysteriously, off the feeds, due to 'personal reasons' per him and CBS. We may never know the full story.

CBS shows air Sundays and Wednesdays at 8pm, and live eviction Thursdays at 9pm

Big Brother After Dark airs 1-4am Thursdays and 12-3am other nights, on Showtime in USA and Global Reality in Canada

BB13 prizes are the same: $500k for the winner and $50k for 2nd place. The others still earn $750 a week including pre-show hotel and jury sequester. The BB veterans probably get more.

The habitat has 52 cameras and 95 microphones.

The recorded Big Brother in-house announcements are the voice of producer Don Wollman.

All feeds stay on one 'scene' when someone's in Diary.

Cheers & zings (Friday)

Thus begins the long, long wait til the end, and they spent much of this day laying around the pool.. evening brought them a catered dinner of steak, lobster, calamari and all the trimmings including fancy desserts.. they all dressed up for it (both Rachel & Porsche wore their clip-on hair), and they enjoyed the food immensely as they did staged toasts to themselves and reminisced the season.. since they aren't doing a cheesy rehash show this year, they weren't interrupted by too many palms for stage direction as happens some years

They also got just enough booze to get loud, and they went through the former hamsters one by one on the photo wall, with Adam providing zings that were as good or better than Zingbot's or Crystal's - flashback 9/9 8.58pm.. after that they did a "slow walk around the house" that was equally weird and silly

They now know they have just the finale left and they know it's Wednesday.. part 2 of their HOH comp is scheduled for "late afternoon" tomorrow.. they all went to bed at midnight and were quiet a half hour later, after getting up around 11am - it's a rough life.. meanwhile, having wrapped up its abbreviated celebrity version, the new season of UK Big Brother opened today, with Pamela Anderson in residence

So long, Jordan (Thursday)

She spent some time with both Rachel and Adam before the trivia took her away, and she made her last towel-clad appearance on the feeds with a drippy run from the shower to the pantry to get some shampoo or something she discovered too late was missing

After two seasons, she remains a hamster loved by many, liked by most and hated by few, mostly due to her cute personality and generally sunny disposition, not to mention ongoing Jordanisms that run the gamut from unintended comedy to "I can't believe she said that!" comments.. many wondered about the real status of her & Jeff's relationship: they were a lot more touchy-feely with each other at the start of this season than they were later on, and their two weeks alone in HOH had no more intimacy or passion than siblings, but they are clearly very good friends and they put up with and overlook each other's flaws better than many couples do

I wondered for a long time too if they were a real couple or just putting on a show, what with still living in separate states two years later, but I caught him peeking at her in the shower one day (she didn't wear anything in there, unlike many who wear bikinis).. she just laughed and told him to quit it, and he laughed too - that decided it for me that they are in fact a dating couple, since friends probably wouldn't peek or make light of being peeked at, and ex's would probably have made a stink about it

The Mixer

Julie set them to spinning on a vertical axis over what was supposedly butter, their back against poles - in a break from most seasons' tradition, they weren't holding onto keys this time

They had some junk thrown on them, and they were periodically raised up high, and lowered to knee-deep in the goo.. none of them were enjoying it much when the feeds came on, and Adam sounded like he was ready to hurl.. he may have done so before or after he came off after approximately half an hour.. the trivia came back again after another 20 minutes or so and then when the feeds returned, it was over: Rachel won Part 1

The three of them made dinner - no catered meal or even a cheap pizza delivery - and they shmoozed each other in twos as each did their Diary time.. together, the three of them continued to rehash the season over cards and snacks, and wonder about the rest of the season's schedule

One of my favorite new traditions signaling late season came tonight, with a kooky montage of artsy, pre-set shots of random items & decor around the habitat - flashback 9/9 2.47am Feed 4.. thanks for doing that again, feedmasters

Ratings - Your Final Three edition

Ratings are Thursday's, based on entertainment value - thanks to for having all the comps info handy
VTE = Voted to evict

Their pointless scheme of taping Wednesday's show on Tuesday had yet another fail tonight when they showed the correct Day 67 for Kalia's eviction, after Julie had announced it was Day 68 on the taped show. We didn't get to hear Fara's letter to Adam after all but he clearly enjoyed getting his chance to stare thoughtfully at the photo wall and lug the keybox around the habitat. I could easily be wrong, but his smirking expression when Jordan was talking with him as well as Porsche's when she & Rachel were talking didn't seem to fit either's personality for the context of the conversations.. maybe TPTB took advantage of the feeds blackout to do some creative editing. Everyone's Diary actoring after the veto comp was worse than usual, and Jordan spoiled all their carefully built up suspense by giving a concession speech & farewell rather than a plea to stay. Julie looked nice but her necklace was peculiar: it looked like a black AmEx card, or maybe a Chenbot control panel.

Paired with Dominic Shelly - GOLDEN KEY
Won: One week elf suit, clothes
No vote (HOH)
Half an hour isn't much for an endurance comp, but he didn't really need it. The part 1 winner often just wears themselves out for nothing: only four endurance portion winners out of the 10 seasons it's been Part 1 of Final HOH have gone on to win their BB season. We didn't expect much more from him on this one though, and the combination of hanging-on pain with spinny pukey had to be bad.. I wouldn't have lasted half as long as he did.

Paired with Keith Kalia - GOLDEN KEY
Won: $5,000, clothes
Another second place for her, but see Adam regarding how much this endurance comp really matters. Having a spinny provides CBS with a colorful comp that makes a lot of viewers want to upchuck like their gross foods & drinks comps, but it should have been a much better & longer show for feedsters. 50 minutes is not a great endurance comp, but Porsche was also feeling pukey so who can blame her for giving up when she did? Only those who've never felt the horrors of seasickness.

Paired with Brendon Jordan
Won: Jessie paraphernalia
No vote (nominee)
Big ups to her for winning another one that she may or may not need, but it's another notch in her wins tally for those jurors and/or viewers who count those things. She was extra chirpy afterwards, especially in comparison to the two green hamsters, but that's our Rachel.

Paired with Jeff Rachel
Won: One week catsuit + tutu, clothes
She did her ditzy again but she showed some BB savvy this time as well, although she forgot many of her winning season's details. She wore the enhanced catsuit with flair and a great attitude, and continuously fingered her hair. She got fired up twice which seemed out of character for her, but so did her chest-bumping Russell. Her most surprising moment for me was her spot-on Fire Marshall Bill face, and her tooty-toot voice was hilarious.

Paired with Lawon Porsche
Won: $5,000, Caribbean trip, clothes
She seemed to be eating most of the time and she talked 'literally' nonstop, but it was her constant singing & resulting palms that got her on feedsters' hit lists, escalated by doggie horror stories like throwing her yorkie into a wall (8/29 11.13pm, 8/29 12.43pm). She talked a lot about making 'big moves' but her first was to nom & evict her own teamie Lawon. She later nom'd & evicted Jeff, but she didn't get the flak for it that Shelly did.

Paired with Cassi Adam - GOLDEN KEY
Won: 24 hours solitary, phone call
She'd said she didn't want to fill the mom role but she represented the demo well, being a friend to most of them when they were down and handing out good advice. She also bashed with the best of them, smoked and cleaned non-stop, and she introduced the hilarious stealth hammock creep. She took a lot of flak for things she did and didn't do, but she played the game the way it was designed to be played and it took them 55 days to catch on.

Paired with Jordan
Won: $15,000
His sense of entitlement to be there and win was as strong as the other vets, but it didn't work out for him this time either. He went out on a bitter note but he gave us his share of funny one-liners while he lasted, especially when he was losing. He had issues with Dumbledore, was a formidable opponent for the new grill and for Adam & Shelly's cigarette supplies, he won all the cash to date, and he'll probably get yet another CBS show after this.

Paired with Dick - GOLDEN KEY/TICKET
Won/used: Veto ticket
She looked & acted different this time, especially when she joked & laughed which was great to see, but she failed at her former specialty of winning vetos and she went back to whining when on the block and on slop. Like all the vets, she had a sense of entitlement but she turned on them too soon, got Dominic booted, and later evicted her teamie Lawon. She shuffled her deck and almost had an 11th hour save, but it 'literally' didn't work out.

Paired with Rachel
Won: 1 week revival
His return was twice unwelcome, especially now that he's had a year to suck the life and Vegas out of Rachel. This time he wore superhero suits, used not-funny voices, lost a toy turtle, lectured everyone, and had big goofy smiles for Big Booty & Porsche's striptease. He had a pathetic sense of entitlement and made a giant stink about Rachel calling him Buki.

Paired with Kalia
Won: nothing
My favorite hamster in years, he came out with his best stuff late nights so many missed it, but he gave great Diary, wore kooky outfits and officiated at the trashbag wedding with tremendous style & flair. He caught flak for pawning himself out the door but his teamies encouraged it and put him up, so it's not all on him. He was Lawonderful with a fantastic laugh and he'll be missed.

Paired with Adam
Won: nothing
He was the first casualty of Daniele's too hard/too fast strategy but he didn't help himself by not brushing up more on how BB works. He told a lot of pointless lies about his modeling, schooling, virginity and then fessed up to them, which might have come back to bite him anyway. His adolescent jokes & behavior did nothing for me.

Paired with Shelly
Won: nothing
She started off okay and had Dominic in her pocket, but Shelly befriended her so well that when they were both nominated, Cassi just laid down and died. She complained a lot, failed to fulfill her catfight potential, and was the third model in a row to be booted out second. She had the best Mirror-Face since BB5/7 Jase.

Paired with Porsche
Won: nothing
He claimed to be a fan since BB1 but even watching only CBS, he clearly wasn't paying attention: who throws a veto comp when they're on the block? He went in with a clearly outlined womanizing strategy which failed miserably, he set off another BB Weinergate, and he panicked himself right out the door.

Paired with Daniele
Won: nothing
We haven't had a premiere night no-show since BB9 Jacob, and we haven't had a mysterious early exit since BB9 Neil. These pairs twist seasons just seem to complicate things for production. No real word yet on why Dick's gone (and there may never be) but he sure was looking rough in the premiere.

News & updates

How the final HOH comp works: the winner of part 1 endurance sits out part 2, which is usually a combo of season info & physical, similar to most veto comps. The winners of part 1 & part 2 go against each other live on the finale for Q&A, and the winner of that decides who will be evicted and become the 7th jury member.

That final jury member is at a disadvantage since they aren't able to discover whatever the other jurors have or discuss the finalists in the jury house. Even though they're not supposed to discuss the game in the jury house, they do "obvi".

Julie hinted on "The Late Late Show" that BB would probably come back for another season and they've announced applications for BB14, so summer 2012 seems to be a go, although I don't think they've made it official yet.
