He was startled but put his arm around her as she leaned in to whisper I don't know what. Showmance fans are on high alert. Haley wants them broken up tomorrow one way or another, but she only controls two votes and Kamu had already talked about booting Lyric, as had Mallory and Melody, and those flips happened even before Dee starting dropping seed bombs of chaos everywhere about keeping Drew. Today is sure to bring waffles and marathon discussions, but chances are the vote won't be fully decided until sometime tomorrow afternoon.More later If you missed what came before, click 'previous Hamsterwatch episode' up top and/or use my season directory. THANK YOU SO MUCH for reading the site, following me on Bluesky, and supporting me on Patreon or Ko-fi! Day 29 - Tuesday - August 4, 2026 Morning brought an 8am wakeup (why?!) and most of them sitting around the times table for coffee and brekkies. That led to a game of beer pong with grapes and no beer, that used up a few minutes. Mallory played a round or two but Barrett, Melody, Taylor, and I think Lyric sat out to grump elsewhere and complain about the social dynamics in there. You have to laugh. Mallory and Melody floated the idea of keeping Drew over Lyric. Melody told Taylor they have to work with Lyric if she stays, and Taylor said she has to earn their trust back. Taylor also said she'll vote with the house, since hers, LaLa's and Yash's votes might not even matter. Melody later ranted to Barrett and Mallory about that ("You want to vote with the house? You are the house!"), and Mallory ranted about Lyric in general. Barrett, Drew, Mallory, Melody formalized their foursome as FAP, Fuck Ass People. Angela and LaLa did DIY chiro on each other. There were no injuries. Yash had a lengthy talk at Lyric about the game and how to play it, and he did the same to Dee and Devens, interrupting them as they workshopped their future alliances. Yash pushed to keep Lyric, and Dee said she'll likely vote out Drew. But when Yash left, Dee pitched the idea of keeping Drew after all, partly because Drew would put up Chuk, Haley, Kamu if he stays and wins HOH. They wondered if they could make people think it's Red Corner's idea to keep Drew, and if that part was do-able, or if Red Corner would turn and target them. This part was a challenge since Dee and Devens want to keep Chuk, Haley, Kamu in their pockets because they're easy to control. They also wondered if keeping Drew would cause a problem with Angela but decided they could handle her. (Dee pitched the idea to Angela later, and to Haley and Kamu.) They also talked about possibly bringing in Yash. Overall it would be a bold move that would give both Dee and Devens another resumé item for a finals speech, and it would also keep more house targets out in front of them. There was also a very quick whisper, mostly inaudible, in that convo, covering up something they didn't want us (or BB) to hear. Dee and Devens had a followup vote flip meeting, which Angela joined, but they still didn't decide anything for sure. Dee continued her seed-bombing raid by telling Lyric to go to Haley, Chuk, Kamu to say she'd go after Dee for them if she stays. Lyric was appalled and said "I'm not throwing your name around!" But Dee assured her it's fine, "they think I'm working with them but I don't trust them," and she more or less said nobody trusts them. When Lyric said Haley had said her nomination was a "trust building thing," Dee said "who the fuck is she, the president of Big Brother?" Get all your lines in the sand and thrown gauntlet clichés ready to bring out. Dee also told her Kamu had stopped fighting to keep her (true), and Lyric immediately went to Kamu to see what he had to say today, which was shmoozy. Lyric then met with Chuk and during that, there was an explosion of loud, angry-sounding shouting from off-feeds, "I hate all of you!" and "Get the fuck out of that room!" Angela and LaLa were prepping food in the kitchen and didn't react, but they're moms and have experience with kids fighting before dinner. It might have been play fighting, but feeds went to extended WBRB, but nothing seemed out of place when they got back. Melody had a little cry, and she was later peptalked by Drew. Devens and Taylor did a skit of a show, and while they were energetic with TV voices, it was very, very short and needs work, in my opinion. Dee and Devens revived the James Huling jumpscare tradition, and they got Haley so bad she peed her pants a little, reviving that Nicole Franzel tradition. Earlier today I would have said the votes were lining up for Lyric to go home against either Drew or Melody, and Melody to go against Drew, but that may all be in flux again since Dee decided to choose violence (chaos), so we head into another Wednesday of waffling with extra syrup. And we might not even know what's happening by the end of day, since there was talk about making moves on Thursday. Meanwhile I don't think anyone told Barrett what's been going on or that Drew's likely to stay now. Angela, Dee, Devens hid from Drew when he went to HOH to look for them. Haley told Kamu she thinks she might win the next Time Capsule because she's had such a rough week and she went through so much before that. Nobody could make this up.If you missed what came before, click 'previous Hamsterwatch episode' up top and/or use my season directory. Day 28 - Monday - August 3, 2026 I added to last night's recap after I sent it out to my lovely Patreon supporters that while Lyric told Haley she'd respect whatever her renom decision is, Lyric spent the next few hours talking with Yash, Chuk, and others with all the Reasons she should not go on the block today. That included ratting out Mallory wanting to go after Haley, Chuk, Kamu in hopes of putting the target on her instead, and spilling some Taylor tea as well. This morning Lyric kept going, finally going to HOH for another pleading session. Haley said she knows Lyric was talking to various people all night, and saying differing things, and betraying her friends' confidence, and she rehashed back to the first week including finding out Lyric has promised too many people she'd never put them up. Haley, who's got a raging case of HOHitis, finally said she probably will put up Lyric today, but she'll probably be fine if that happens, and she told Lyric what to say to whom about it all. Lyric finally said "if you put me up, I'm gonna be fine with it." We'll see. Taylor used her veto on herself obviously, and Haley put up Lyric in her place, as painfully planned. Devens wasn't expected to use his diamond veto and he didn't, so he's now got four more chances to use that (I'm tracking that up top in my Power Status section). Drew gave a dramatic speech begging Taylor to veto him, which he jokingly rehearsed earlier today. After the meeting, he told Devens "if the Toolshed wants to get me out this week, at least I go out with a good speech." Devens lied and said he didn't think Drew has anything to worry about. Barrett joined and neither he nor Devens gave Drew a lot to go on when Drew asked who he should talk to about getting votes. They both agreed to let him know if he is the target (and they might, eventually). Lyric moped and said she wished the yard was open (it closed early this morning). It was the slowest feeds day yet. Mallory told Drew he won't have the votes if he stays on the block. (Later, Barrett told Mallory she'd "scared Drew shitless" with that, and he asked her not to do that again.) Drew kept saying he doesn't want to be the Cedric, a big alliance member who went up as a pawn, the "young guy" like him who went home Week 4. Mallory did extensive pacing in the pantry and the gym. Lyric kept crying and moping, and she told Mallory "they made me throw you under the bus," and Mallory forgave her. Lyric told her and Melody how getting caught kissing Rome contributed to him and now her being targeted. This came just after Melody and Drew looked like they were about to go there. And Lyric told them "from here on out we have to stick together" and Melody replied "I've been doing that." Haley complained, rehashed, and retold with Kamu, who eventually suggested they boot Lyric instead of Melody this week, if Drew wins the Block Buster. When they ran that idea past Devens he said "I don't care."I'm hoping not to follow all the waffling this week in more detail than that as a) it's exhausting, and b) it's usually futile, since the one certain to go home if they lose the Block Buster tends to lose the Block Buster and go home, and the endless debates about the other two end up being for nothing.
