LaLa was woken up by people being loud and she went on a lengthy salty and hilarious ranty rant. Melody and Barrett had a date in the kitchen.Last Sunday they were up and at 'em early for the swimsuit photo shoot (those pics haven't shown up yet) but today brought the usual summer Sunday morning with coffee, chit-chat, workouts, scenario-running, and occasional whispery, cussy gossip. Even Taylor was out of bed and in the backyard this morning. Angela Egg started planning a family dinner last night and continued today, as if it'll be a banquet for 50 instead of spaghetti for 11. THANK YOU SO MUCH for reading the site, following me on Bluesky, and supporting me on Patreon or Ko-fi! Day 12 - Saturday - July 18, 2026 Angela Egg and Barrett were picked to play veto along with Devens, Jason, Lyric, Melody. Melody told Barrett, Drew, Jason they were bad picks for her but that Angela was unlikely to win. She was reminded Angela did win some comps on her previous season, and she was also reminded Angela might use it on Jason if she wins, since they made up yesterday's extreme fight right away. Melody also said "I'm the target to some extent" (actually the target's still Rome, and it seems extra likely he'll go up with those player picks). Rome confessed to Drew that his name is really Jack, like it's some huge deep, dark secret, the same as when he told Lyric. Drew was suitably unimpressed by the weight of the secret and said he too has a secret, his name is actually Andrew. And he said someone in there is a lawyer, and Rome asked "you think so?" Lyric has hidden it well(!) but it was still a funny moment. Dee, Devens, Drew met in HOH and agreed the veto draw worked in their favor. Drew said Rome has lost Melody and Yash as supporters/allies. They retold yesterday's noms fight, and laughed, and Devens reminded them that the Rome backdoor plan was originally Angela's. While that's technically true (though Devens may have thought of it anyway), it's always good to sprinkle little seed bombs around for use later if needed. Melody asked Drew and Rome if she's the only one who's not good with Jason anymore and they both said she's not. Melody griped some more about Angela and Devens being parents who shouldn't be there, and she worked out alone before they got called to comp. She danced enthusiastically around the gym, and she hyped herself up to win. Feeds went to adoptable anipals at 12.20pm for the veto comp and were back in two hours. Devens won the veto, so he's got all the power this week. It was a puzzle comp with 12 pieces that were heavy, and it was hard. Rome said if Devens wants to be "really aggressive" he'd use it on Melody and put him up, which is also what Jason suspected will happen - and it probably will. Jason almost won, and Angela Egg did well. Melody was disappointed in herself, especially after all that pre-comp hyping and peptalking herself. Rome told Lyric if one of them gets kicked out, it's just the end on the show but not the end of them. Cue the tinkly piano. Lyric said Devens said he'd probably keep noms the same if he won veto, but later she asked Dee what if she suggests Devens takes her off and puts up Rome. She said "I want to be here!" and that Rome blew up his own game, and hers by association. Mallory told Melody that Devens put her up with Lyric so they wouldn't take each other off if either won veto. Melody said she'll talk to Devens and say if he wants to take her down she'd be grateful, and she said she'll make him think it's his own idea. (Good luck with that! Never mind giving him any Reasons to keep her, or pitching him a deal if he does? This whole "do what's best for your game" thing is so annoying.) Lyric campaigned to Chuk and Yash in a light, breezy, flirty way and the two guys joked about how bad her game has been. After she left they said more of the same, but not in a joking way. Jason described the slop mac 'n cheese he made, a first I think? It sounded complicated with a lot of steps but he said it wasn't bad. Angela Egg danced as LaLa sang "heyyy heyyy, what's the matter with your egg shell, An-ge-la" to the tune of Redbone's classic song. Afternoon into evening had a lot of group socializing, with all or nearly all of them in either big living room or big hot tub time machine® convos. The latter eventually came around to the attractiveness or not of athletic looking women, steroids, testosterone, and other brojock topics that nobody wants on feeds but we always seem to get. Gametalk broke out without warning, people started meeting with Devens as if the veto meeting is tomorrow, and the feeds went to WBRB way too often for way too long. Lyric pitched to Devens, and said if he takes her off the block she'll never ever ever put him up. He sounded genuinely surprised by that and said "really?" More extended WBRBs blocked the rest of their talk until they were finished and she left, and he said to himself/us "dang, why do I believe her? Hmm." He later told Chuk, and then Dee and Angela that he does believe her, and he'll do it, and Rome will take her place. Taylor spent a lot of time upright today, so she climbed back up to her bunk bed around 8.30pm. The backyard opened up and the *thunk* *thunk* *thunk* of cornhole returned. Jason and Angela Egg agreed to sit down and talk, and hash things out, which they did by a corner of the pool. It was a nice chat, pleasant on both sides. Jason was wanting her vote of course, but both of them sounded genuine to me, at least after the initial pleasantries. He suggested they stage another fight but Angela Egg said no, and they retold and laughed about their real fight yesterday. Jason ran his prepared pitch for Devens to use veto on him, and he confessed the early alliances he was in with Drew and Melody (Court Jesters), and with Lyric and Rome (Love Triangle). Angela Egg asked for three weeks safety in exchange for her vote, and he agreed. The top of the giant pineapple floatie popping into the shot was an unexpected bonus. Angela Egg laid her egg down on the fake grass and went deep into her shell to eat a Twix. Chuk rescued a bee nearby, and he told Angela Egg he was a hypochondriac until age 24, with severe panic attacks (Chuk, not the bee). Afterwards, Angela Egg rolled across the yard. The soft buzz of non-essential gametalks between twos and threes filled the feeds between *thunks* and extended WBRBs.If you missed what came before, click 'previous Hamsterwatch episode' up top and/or use my season directory.
