Kamu swapped out Jason, who's now his backdoor target, for Lyric, despite previously telling her she's safe. This plan was pushed by Drew, and both Kamu and Chuk mentioned Toolshed when the new plan was told to Yash. Also last night, Haley expressed disappointment that LaLa wasn't a nom plan, nor a Have-not for a second time. Have-not Dee snacked on some of Kamu's HOH candy while discussing all this, and she went back for more. This morning Kamu used all the hamster clichés to tell Lyric she might hit the block "as a pawn," "I need you to trust me," and "everybody loves you." He said he'll use veto on her if he wins it and "so would other people." Eventually she said "okay" but she added she knows how it feels to sit on the block and it's no fun. Kamu came back by saying he has a target he doesn't want playing for veto, and even if Lyric stays on the block somehow, she'd never be voted out because everyone loves her, and the guys want to keep her around as eye candy. He said his plan would benefit both of them because he has a "mutual target" and he said yes when Lyric asked if it's Jason. She eventually pushed back a little, even begged him not to do it, adding "pawns go home," but he assured her she wouldn't. When she suggested pawning Barrett instead of her, Kamu said he could get voted out because he's so well-liked, and thus a threat. Day 17 - Thursday - July 23, 2026Last night word spread around that Angela Egg and Dee were telling people different things about their votes tonight, and their Honor Society alliance with LaLa and Taylor is on shaky ground; Jason left Have-not room because Rome and Lyric were making out in his face on the communal bed platform, and Chuk was astonished to learn they weren't actually broken up; and Taylor learned "24/7 live feed" means a live feed 24/7, not just recording 24/7. (We know "24/7" is an advertising myth, but that's not the point here.) This morning Drew stuck another dirty towel behind the toilet, pushing the Towelgate prank a little too far past its expiration. LaLa, who'd been making coffee and cleaning the kitchen before the rest of them were up, said "I'm about to knock somebody the freak out!" when she found it. Drew gave Melody tips for various Block Busters we've seen; Mallory and Melody talked about bringing Barrett in with them; and Devens told more Survivor stories. Kamu said his brother was on the first Mr Beast season, and Drew said he was too - I guess he hadn't shared that tidbit with them before.Julie posted her Block Buster preview: it's the one where they have to rearrange 12 blocks on four spindles so they're in three-of-a-kind stacks. The title is Pirate's Booty, with the blocks supposedly being pearls, doubloons, rubies, emeralds. Then came the show. Julie wore red and the recap segments made me realize Lyric's been driving the game? I had no idea! (Sarcasm: she has not been driving the game.) Julie went out into the audience among the common people again for one segment, and they ran pieces on Drew/Melody and Barrett/Mallory flirtmances with the possible impending end of Lyric/Rome. There was no mention now or previously of Barrett/Dee or Barrett/everyone. They showed Barrett telling Drew he's like Dr Will (untrue), and they showed Angela Egg being suss about Drew again, even though she was there when he was assigned to play both sides. Then it was time for Melody, Rome, Jason to play the Block Buster which was as Julie demo'd it, and Jason won so fast I could only manage a blurry action shot of him running to his podium at lightspeed. Julie once again did not tell the final nominees to take two minutes to strategize but instead we had two minutes of everyone hugging everyone, as if they hadn't seen each other for a year. Speeches were made, votes were cast, and Rome was evicted 12-1, with Taylor the dissenting vote. That's right, Lyric voted out her boo. Rome was gracious about it, and said he didn't have time to hug everyone, and "I don't care who knows it: Lyric Medeiros, I am in love with you." Whooping and hollering followed that of course, especially as he dipped her and gave her a big smack before going out the door. Rome's sit-down with Julie was mostly as expected, except she tried to gag him by saying his and Lyric's wedding song would be Glenn Medeiros' 80s hit, but she got the title wrong and Rome already knew that was her dad and it all fell flat. And Julie invited herself to their wedding. She made him guess who his one vote was and of course he guessed Lyric, and he was kind of shocked it wasn't Lyric, but a lot of us could have told him he messed up her game that bad, and she wanted to take back ownership of it. Whether her vote will reflect on their future together or not is their business and not mine. Julie then brought out Ross Mathews for a short sit-down, since he'll be the guest co-host for Unlocked, which tapes tonight. Feeds came back after almost an hour to Angela Egg rolling and grunting on the floor again. She got an announcement that her "week" was over (she did six days in the suit) and she was ecstatic. She shunned the costume, beat it up, invited others to beat it up and several did, and now it won't fetch as much on eBay. Last week's Have-nots found out at some point they'd done an extra day and night for no reason? WHY DIDN'T BB TELL THEM? That's just wrong, unless BB did tell each of them and they just forgot, then it would be on them. Feeds went back to anipals at 8.30pm for their HOH comp and/or new Have-nots. Feeds came back around 10.30pm and Kamu won the HOH. It sounded like Jessie Godderz was there for his annual appearance, and maybe Russell Kairouz? Kamu told several of them he wants to put up Jason, LaLa, Mallory, and he wants to keep noms the same and not backdoor anyone. He said he'll hold meetings anyway, short ones tonight and more tomorrow if needed, and he'll tell Jason he's not his target. Jason told LaLa and Taylor he'll make a pitch to put up Devens instead because Kamu's a good guy who likes them, and he's aligned with Haley and Chuk. I wish him luck with that, but I don't think he'll change Kamu's mind. I don't know what the comp was other than it was 1980s, they had WRESTLEGASM shirts, it wasn't endurance, and Melody had a fall, so maybe a balance beam? It will become clear as we go. Lyric started taking back ownership of her game right away by telling Chuk a future with Rome would be difficult because she's Hawaii and he's Florida, and despite his exit proclamation, she wasn't ready to say I love you to him yet(!)Have-nots for the week will be Dee, LaLa, Mallory, Melody, Yash, so LaLa missed her goal of never doing it, and only Angela hasn't done it yet. I'll catch up Kamu's HOH stuff tomorrow.. probably. If you missed what came before, click 'previous Hamsterwatch episode' up top and/or use my season directory.
