OT - One Final Request - Support For GL

If Dingo will kindly allow me this transgression, I'd like to make a request. Television's longest running show will go dark this Friday. The Guiding Light has aired on TV since 1954, and has been in existence for a total of 72 years (including radio). Now I know that this may or may not be your cup of tea - and that's fine. But to honor your mothers and your grandmothers, I'm asking that everybody either tune in or DVR the final episode on Friday. This will send a statement to the television industry that viewers do matter, and that fan loyalty is bigger than numbers and advertising dollars.

I find it very unlikely that we'll ever again see a program of any kind that will make it for 72 years. This truly is an end of an era. This show has been as relevant and influential to it's genre as Michael Jackson was to his - and as such, deserves this last honor and show of gratitude and respect.
