Default Memphis' lack of BB Knowlege

Memphis - "At least I made Big Brother History."
Dan - "What's that?"
Memphis - "First player ever to make it to the finals without winning one HOH."

I'm guessing some DR jockey fed him this line of BS to keep his spirits/ego inflated.

I think the DR jockeys feed them all kinds of BS such as "you guys are getting the best ratings of any bb, ever" and "you're polling as the most liked hg" or "there are websites devoted just to YOU" "you're my favorite" etc.

Gotta keep the ponies well fed if they want to ride them in the race.

This may sound silly to some of you but this subject makes me think...wouldn't it be interesting if next season TPTB got a group of BB enthusiasts to be HGs...then all the trivia and comps would have to do with past seasons. Of course, they wouldn't be able to reveal that "Twist" ahead of time as the potential contestants would do thier research...oh and prior HGs cannot participate...no more all-stars crap.

They'd never get past the application process. They need idiots, because idiots=drama - or easily manipulated by TPTB to manufacture drama.

Exactly right. I always said that we would negotiate a settlement between us the first day, LOL.

Maybe.

I'm not a fan of the All-Stars format. It was nice to see Janelle and Kaysar again, and Chicken George. Loved Jack and James. But there is always too much information known already, even by the HGs, that predetermine how alliances and votes will be cast. I would really like to see a "where are they now" kind of show for the former cast members.

Part of the fun (not that there is still a lot of fun with this show, but hope springs eternal) is getting to know new HGs and watch them getting to know each other and form their alliances. When it's All-Stars, it just seems to be ho-hum--done deals.

Having said that, if they ever bring back Eric and Maggot for All-Stars, I will just sit it out.

I guess I should explain. The reason All-Stars was my favorite season is quite simple. Everyone there knew the game.

Most seasons have two, three at most, people who intrinisically understand the dynamics of the game, and they either go out early, lose out to a floater, or dominate the whole season.

I think we've seen this enough times to know how easily a good player can dominate the house, but not when there was decent opposition in the house. BB10 was very nearly that, as the people who understood the voting process was numerous - Brian, Libra, Dan, Renny, Jerry, and Memphis, but each fell to a repeated mistake such as forming alliances too early, playing emotionally, and getting played in almost every which way. The power structure is too predictible when you have cannon fodder like Angie, Stephan, Jessie, Keesha, April and Ollie.

Why not cast 14 intellegent, amicable people, who know the game and will play it well in more than just one aspect (such as being a floater, competitor, or deciever) so that it would be impossible to know who is going home the moment HoH is won.

BB7 was like that. Chilltown was under constant fire. The Legion of Doom dominated until decimated. Janelle had an army of pawns, and she used them up while being used herself. Even Chicken George looked like he stood a good chance of winning for a moment there.

That season was a must-see. Six was good too. I liked Two and Four. The rest were ho-hum. Except ten. Ten was good, for about three weeks.

I loved BB7, as well. But IMO season 10 was the best season since All-Stars. We saw some great players this season. Dan, of course, with probably the best strategic game I've ever seen played, Renny & Libra both playing excellent puppetmaster games, Memphis playing a great under-the-radar strategy. For the first time, we actually saw the sex in the house - and OMG, the fights were truly spectacular (while they lasted). All-in-all a really great season - especially after the degenerates from Season #9.
