Default Poor Dan

I am new to the forum but not to Hamsterwatch! This site is great! Now, what is wrong with Jerry? We had to listen to him talk about not wearing his Military hat, shirt and probably underwear, because of his Brian thing. What pray tell is the difference with Dan not wearing his cross. From what I seen I didn't see Dan 'swear' or anything to Jerry about his vote for Jessie. He said, "OK" and Jerry turned around and left. I appreciate Jerry's service to our country many years ago but I personally do not think there are many marines out there approving of his treatment and hateful words to and about Dan. It's a game Jerry get over it!!!! Thanks for letting me vent! Hang in there Dan I am a rootin' for ya!

welcome to the forum, and yea Jerry's definitely got some double standards going, to put it mildly

what got me most was the other day he said "I've never badmouthed anyone in here" meaning before Dan.. I guess he forgot all the vicious things he had to say about Memphis Bob last week

I wonder who his target will be next week? he's running out of guys.. Ollie better duck

Jerry's the worst by far when it comes to Dan,but April and Michelle are claiming outrage over him disgracing thier religion too. After all,April is Catholic so she knows the rules and one of them acccording to her is No dressing up in women's clothing, not even for a brief impersonation.
I was stunned.I was raised Catholic, but do not practice so I guess its a new rule.I'll call my grandpa to verify,he should know.It must be a big rule too because she followed by saying how he disgraced her religion. And good news for all the horny unwed Catholics out there having premarital sex is no longer a rule.(Yes,I'm being sarcastic)

Hmm ... I guess April would be SCANDALIZED by the priest at my wedding jokingly putting on my veil. LOL

Talking Re: Poor Dan

Hi all ..have been enjoying reading all your posts for a long time ..too shy to join..lol this season has some interesting people ..my favorite is Renny..she's very smart and can read these kids well ..I hope she wins..Jerry is not a "bad" man but he's got a short memory...he's WAY too hard on Dan and I agree that he's just mad because his "I got you covered" speach to Jessie was b.s. Jerry has a chance to show the country that 75 year old veterans can be wise, understanding, and a joy to be around...he's failing miserably... Even though he's being such an as# I still can't hate him..chalk it up to an upbringing of you must respect your elders!

Welcome Ediann.

No, of course Jerry's not a bad man, but he's definitely way across the line of playing a strategic game and a personal game, and as has been said, he did much worse to Brian. And he's a damn fool for running his mouth off to poor, weak, defenseless Dan when after all, it's just a game.

Dan's taking it all hard, but his strategy is very sound. So far he's been under the radar, and America's Player vote is the only bold move he's made. I just hope when it comes time to bald-faced lie, and stab someone in the back, he'll remember this: God hasn't interfered in the outcome of this game since Jameka's magic ping pong ball.

Actually, Dan was laughing about the magic ping pong ball the other night. He was saying that (in his opinion) God loves everyone equally, so it's just ridiculous to pray to God to favor one HG over another, or to think that He would help one HG over another.

Jerry has played the worst game in here, IMO. If he had come into the house and portrayed himself as the sweet, lovable physically fit grandpa that everyone perceived him as during the first day - he would have been hard to beat. Instead, he wanted to be portrayed as this bad ass ex-Marine who is powerful...in other words, the Colonel. Right now, he's winning hands down as the most distasteful person in the house.

He's up there, I'll tell you that and probably as one of the most distasteful people in the house of all time.

Not to sound bitchy or anything, but the Marines have a phrase, "Once a Marine, ALWAYS a Marine." I don't dare tell people my brother use to be a Marine. I say he was in the Marine Corps. He's still a Marine, even if he hasn't carried a mortar in 12 years. He will ALWAYS be a leatherneck, not matter how many years have passed since his last hump through the desert.

My 88 year old Grandfather still attends reunions of his old WWII unit, even if he left the Army in 47. He still wears his "Battling Buzzards" ball caps (the nickname of his old unit) and Army gear from time to time. Service people have every reason to boast and be proud of their service until the day they die. They have the right to be burried at Arlington, no matter how long their service was, so long as their discharge was honorable.

I was married to a Marine,he's a drunk with low self esteem who used to stalk me.I knew that comment may offend some people, but I guess I'm one of those people who judges a person by how they treat others and live life on a whole.Maybe 54 years ago Jerry was a noble guy,now he's just an A-hole in my book and he's not representing the Marines very well.

I don't like Jerry at all, but I'll never dog his service record, since I don't have his personel file in front of me. His service is something to be proud of, even if his conduct in the house is not.

I think that Jerry is only staying in there because (a) he goes with whatever the HOH wants and (b) no one really sees him that much of a threat.

He might even hang on until the final 6.

I think that best sums up most of our feelings about Jerry perfectly.

I'm betting against that. I think Jerry will be evicted in the next two weeks. Right now the ones laying low (Memphis, Dan, Renny and Ollie) are the best bets. Libra is most likely gone now. April is high on everyone's radar and will next week if she or Ollie don't win HOH. After April, they may agree it's time to take care of Jerry. But who knows??

It will come back to bite him in the "end". They are alredy getting sick of his tirades and they are weary that he can't seem to get over his Dan peeve. He is like a little brat that didn't get his way (meaning Dan wasn't really in his pocket), so he will piss and moan and really think that anyone in there gives a cr*p.

I'm certainly sorry if I offended you or anyone,I think my reasoning is because seeing the way he talks and what he wears I was shocked at what and when his service was.He plays it up big time.I never said he didn't deserve the rights and privledges of any veteran. He just acts being a Marine is who he is and I don't think thats truely the case.Should he be proud, yes, should he carry on the way he does-sorry its a bit much.I think he's trying to look like a bad ass.I think thats a part of why he hates Dan so much now,a skinny little kid got the best of him.

In a way Jerry is acting no different than other crybabies in the past who got duped in BB. He's more angry at himself for being duped than in the one who duped him. Good players like Will, Boogie, Evel Dick, and Crazy James, for example, would fess up in DR that, yep, they got duped. Crybabies (e.g., the Nerd Herd, Howie, BB6/7 James, Dustin, Sheila, Jessie - and most of the rest of the BB10 hamsters still in the game) are all fine and dandy dishing it out, but when they're being played turn it into something personal.

(Important side note: I don't consider good players to be necessarily good people and vice-versa. For example, I loved Howie.)

Agreed. Jerry's pissed off too many people with his incessant hate of Jerry. He's gone unless he makes a MAJOR change for the better. However, a 70 year old leopard doesn't change his spots.

The fact that the entire house seems annoyed with him and his constant DAN-bitching, I don't see him hanging around much longer either. To make Jerry's tirades worse, they usually don't even make an ounce of sense. You can see it in the other HGs faces. They just roll their eyes everytime he talks.
I'm all about respecting my elders but if I were stuck in a house with that man, I would have a hard time showing him respect due to his actions and ludicras speeches.

Jerry proclaims to be a big brother diehard-but I am starting to wonder--I would expect a diehard fan to react like"oh you got me" "I should've known"-and you are absolutely right, there was nothing more than a "yeah" from Dan to Jerry about how he would vote-Jerry keeps mentioning that Dan said he would give up his religion before he voted Jesse out and I have no idea where that came from--sometimes I wonder if jerry is the one with Alzeheimer's not his wife...

LOL I have never heard of the "dressing in womens clothing as a joke" being one of the 7 deadly sins (there are 14 now.... Polluting, genetic engineering, obscene riches, taking drugs, abortion, pedophilia and causing social injustice)

But hey, at least she is following the laws of her "disgraced" religon by practicing the "NO BIRTH CONTROL" rule. And, I think she is safe with the premarital sex too because of the "DOGGY STYLE DOESN"T COUNT AS SEX" rule.

I feel for his kids/grandkids. If my dad (who is also an old-timer Vet) were to act like that, I would die.

I agree with you all the way (my dad is also a retired veteran) however, the difference is that my father isn't a hot headed, angry, vile old man who throws around his service and use it as a tool to "demand" respect from EVERYONE just because he has served. He goes around hitting everyone over the head with it. Yes, he deserves a certain amount of respect, but he shouldn't DEMAND it.

So an abortion won't count, either, I guess, since premarital public televised sex doesn't count.
