View Full Version : More to Dan's luxury comp than meets the eye...

Dan gathered the rest of them and told them he was going to a private beach and had the option of either taking one of them with him or going alone. He told them he chose to go alone so as to avoid having to choose between any of them. (They begrudingly seemed to understand.) Later in the HOH bathroom, while Dan was alone, he was saying something to himself about "if only I could get Michelle's vote."
I'm guessing that Dan didn't tell the other houseguests the whole story! I'm betting he also had the option of taking a member of the jury! (It sounds like Dingo's guess of "bury the hatchet" is dead on. This would make "bury the hatchet" make a lot of sense - and could certainly have a HUGE effect on the end result!)

that's what I'm thinking but doesn't that kinda go against the idea for the jury in the 1st place?
What were Dan & Keesha talking about feeling bad cause 'he sold it' - what does that mean?

Not completely off topic because it's about the clue to the comp....
Guess what's happened in L.A. today :D

so, on the show tonight they said he can take a jury member and he is bringing Michelle. I really am not happy with this. Is the game fixed for Dan to win or what? I am starting to think so.
I am almost hoping for Jerry to not be evicted, and to win the final HOH and the whole game even though I hate him.

Well if that means I think like TPTB, I don't know if that's a compliment or not...

Dumbest move Allison Grodner & friends have ever made, in my opinion - and that's saying a lot.. the words "jury" and "sequester" no longer apply
Do I care? Nope.. "integrity" also doesn't apply to this thing, and hasn't for years
Is the game fixed for Dan to win or what? I am starting to think so.
It's been looking like that for weeks, but he blew it this time, in my opinion.. this move will have pissed off the four who weren't chosen (especially Libra, who's been in there for a year or so), as well as whichever two still in the habitat will end up on the "jury".. if all goes to pattern tho, it won't matter and Dan will still come out ahead
He should have taken Memphis Bob as planned.. Dan & M-Bob had agreed that if it was a take-a-friend trip (and why would they even ass-ume that?? hmmm) that they would take each other rather than Keesha, so as not to upset their girlfriends.. they could have had a terrific time and come back with stories for hours, but nooooo
Now Dan will have to explain to the lovely Monica that by taking Michelle instead, he has apparently set the price of alienating her affections at $500,000
Bottom line? We now have potential for better than usual "jury" Q&A fallout :D

I agree,Dingo...it's highly unfair to take someone from the jury house..not only to the houseguests but to the jury..I was thinking the same thing you were about the jury being furious and the houseguests that will join them . Allison trying to save her favorite after he pissed off so many people is going to backfire on her ...it would serve her right for messing with the game. Integrity...my a##

I agree with you Dingo, this type of tampering should backfire on AG and Dan will pay the price. But if we go on the assumption that the game is fixed in Dan's favor, then it really won't matter anyway, will it?

I would certainly think there would be some sort of rules on the receiving end of the trip, as well. Obviously, Dan had to mention Unmarried Gary Unmarried several times, and couldn't mention various things about the trip (he got DR grief repeatedly when he got back) - GU not included. I imagine that Michelle had stipulations put on her as well, because it would cause a lot of strife in sequester. Hard to tell with the AG Mafia.
It's interesting that many of you think that Dan was set-up to win. It looks to me like TPTB are doing everything in their power to get Jerry to the final (2). I think they really want to play up the oldest contestant making it that far...or as Dan said (and Jerry got mad) "Jerry vs Judas." They need to jump on it quick, because I heard Frau Blucher is going to be Dancing With The Stars - and she's in her 80's.

No matter what the twist is in any season, it is unfair to someone and fair to another. Daniele was talking about the AP in S8 being unfair to her. It was only unfair because Eric had to campaign against her at the final vote. It wasn't unfair though when it was getting her and ED to the final 2.
The person who benefits from a twist will more than likely never think it unfair. If Dan hadn't won the luxury comp would AG and TPTB given the same choice to Memphis, Jerry or Keesha? My guess would be YES. They would have had the unfair advantage then. I think this hurt Dan's game more than it helped it. :(

In the past - all luxury footage was shown to the remaining HG's as a segment on the show. We saw Will & Bucky's balloon ride, Amy & Jason's cruise, Jun going to the VMA's, Mkfn Marvin @ Y&R, (did anyone go anywhere in season 6 & 7?) , Danielle & Amber playing on the Power of Ten.
Anyone wondering if possibly they show this particular 'luxury' to the remaining HG's before the live veto eviction tomorrow? It's supposed to be 'game changing' - but if the other HG's don't know till they get to the jury house - how does it effect the game being played right now? Unless they reveal what Dan's true choice was. teehee

Interesting perspective. We mustn't forget that from Day 1, Jerry was edited well (groping aside) to be the hero, grandfatherly, all-American guy. (Feedsters know differently of course.) All these weird shenanigans - along with Renny and now Keesha getting the boot - do favor Jerry. People on the jury are going to (rightly) think Memphis is a snake and Dan is a cocky liar who seems to be getting all the breaks (or help). For all Jerry's negatives, he might be viewed as the least of all evils.
I'd be interested to see when such things as the truth about his beach trip and America's Player are revealed. If they're before the jury vote, then it definitely seems that TPTB are pushing for Jerry.

The other thing that makes me suspicious is that the DR would not let Memphis tell Keesha ahead of time that he was voting her out. I know it could all be BS, but I don't think so because Memphis made (3) uncalled and unannounced trips to the DR yesterday, one right after the initial Keesha meltdown. IMO, Memphis is telling the truth when he told Dan he wasn't allowed to say anything. To my knowledge this hasn't been in effect all season, until now. Who does this benefit the most - Jerry. Keesha's onscreen reaction to her eviction would be aimed first at Memphis...then she'd be out of the house. Poor old grandfatherly Jerry would be spared the embarrassment of screaming obscenities at Keesha on national TV.
AG said in an interview before the season even started that it would be hard for them to vote out a 75 year old grandfather taking care of his wife with Parkinsons. It's pretty obvious that's how she wanted Jerry portrayed on CBS, and that's how he's been portrayed pretty much all season.

(did anyone go anywhere in season 6 & 7?)
how could you forget Janelle's trip to the sitcom? :D
Maggie, Ivette and April ranting about it the whole time she was gone was one of the highlight moments of that season.. in an "omg I canNOT believe them!! " kinda way lol
Boogie went to the ER on BB7 - not a luxury trip, but a field trip nonetheless in which he tried to get info about the game (and possibly did?).. I can't recall an excursion arranged by BB that season either though

That was a classic! Two and a Half Men and they gave Janelle one of Charlie's signature bowling shirts that the cast signed. It drove the Nerd Herd nuts. :D That one on top of the phone call from Michael and in April's words, "America... pieces of SHIT!" :D:D:D

What crap tonight not showing the houseguests Dan's little trip..now THAT would have changed the game  that Dan is a sneaky little devil..whispering to Keesha as she left..and then when Memphis asked him what he said ..lying through his teeth...if Memphis doesn't wake up soon he deserves to lose, Father Dan is screwing him big time,,you can't trust ANYONE in this game but yourself
