I tried out for BB5 and now I want to try out again for BB10.

I would love to hear some pointeres on how to actually get on if anyone has any suggestions. Why do you believe that they prefer people that arent that familar with the game? You say on your homepage to not show that you are a diehard (which I am, never have missed an episode since bb2). You feel that would actually hurt my chances?

Also, I am a pretty good looking guy, but I dont think I am model material, plus I am married and 33 years old. Would all those things work so against me that it wouldnt even be worth it? I ask because I know why I bombed the bb5 interview. (I was interviewed 3 times by their casting director and super cutie).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

well, most everything that goes on the homepage has a tongue in cheek component

but take this cast for instance - you know they had a zillion feedsters and hardcore fans apply, as always, yet there's not one of them who seems to have much of a clue about the big BB picture.. it stands to reason they prefer hamsters who are going to be shocked when they get "twists" thrown at them rather than knowing nods from folks who are expecting stuff and just waiting for it to come, plus look at Sheila & the others who are amazed at the degree of behind-the-back maneuvering going on.. that's "good tv"

last year Dick acknowledged having watched the feeds at times and so did Eric (and maybe Daniele? I forget) - but they were all special cases with other reasons to be cast, as were the All Stars.. there have been very few others over the years who had much of a clue

this season's group doesn't even know Julie is Mrs Moonves, they thought the Cowboy/Nakomis fiasco was on BB2, and they think they have to fly to NYC for the Early Show (and then somehow do Housecalls two hours later)

it just seems to me that someone with only surface "CBS knowledge" would have better chances to get on.. but someone who knew more and faked it would have better chances to stay awhile and possibly win ;)

as far as being 33, that might work in your favor - they've been blasted by both fans and ratings for this all 20-something cast

Wow, thanks for all the timely and useful info. I plan on really playing coy then, and not informing them that I have never missed an episode and how much I know they manipulate the show.

I REAAAAAAAAAAAALLY want to be on this show. Its not even about the money for me to be honest.

Yeah, it would be nice to see more diversity. Hopefully the only did it this season because of "Till Death do us part" because its turning more into 'The Real World' season by season.

well, I'm just guessing

the main requirement seems to be someone who can talk for hours about anything, and is willing to include any and all intimate & personal details lol

good luck if you go for it - let us know if you make it so we can watch for ya :)

Good luck. But I have a quick question. I'm sure they're not this technical, but don't they keep record of who has applied before? At some point, wouldn't they discover that you've applied before?

Either way, I hope you are successfull. I'll root for you!:D

Ok got another question Dingo........

You say on your home page that you can fill out the application or "go to a open casting call". Now if you go to the open casting call, what would you recommend and do I also have to fill out the application? I am assuming you do have to have it ready for them. There is an open casting call at a very posh bar down the street from my work so it will work out perfectly. (boston)

I am just having a hell of a time finding anyone with a camera that records onto VHS as everyone has the DVD versions now.

Also, should I get all fancy or should I just go as I always do.

I included a few pictures so you can tell me if I have "The BB look" so to speak. I have also lost 20 pounds since these pics.

Anything you can do will help. And remember if I get on I will talk to the camera all the time and call the camera dingo, not america. haha

(I apparently like to make funny faces in pics. haha. Yeah I am a goofball)

I will probably delete these after some feedback too, my wife would kill me if she saw herself on here. haha

Thanks for all and any feedback.

I'd guess it'd be a good idea to bring the completed application with you.. maybe you wouldn't need the VHS tape if you go in person - I think they tape you at these open casting calls as a sort of "screen test" but they could certainly tell you if you need to follow up with an audition tape also

I really have no idea as far as what to wear.. hopefully some others will provide some ideas here along with any other suggestions

just gauging by what we've seen each summer, your best bet is to probably be outgoing, bubbly, enthusiastic, uninhibited, and show them that you can talk talk talk talk lol

if you go, let us know what happened and how it went!

you also might hit up that casting agent linked on the main site sidebar.. it could be a situation where if they get recommends from different sources, they'd be inclined to notice you more

Upon arrival, applicants were greeted and handed a packet to fill out. The 12-page questionnaire leapt from the common and obvious to the intensely personal. It took some more than 30 minutes to fill in everything from their life motto to bra and underwear size to typical behavior when they're drunk or angry

from the article linked in Moviegal's post (http://www.hamsterwatch.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1767)

it sounds like the same app? so bringing it along would probably help - at least you'd have all the info handy to copy over if they have a different form

Good hat! Cute dog...is that a puggle? Don't play up the Boston thing too much I think Matt overkilled it this season. Good luck!

Good luck to you! Go in to the casting call and knock their socks off with your wit. I really hope you do well and tell your wife not to be upset over you posting her picture on here, she is a total cutie!! I love the idea of calling the camera Dingo!! You would have to work the word Dingo in wherever you can. Best wishes and good luck!! It will be exciting to see you in there and know you were once one of us here at Hamsterwatch!!! ;)
