I'm not crazy about the whole "enemies" twist to start, with tho I suppose it'll make some interesting watching
But the estranged father/daughter thing seems to me like a cheap ploy to get ratings, and I don't like the sound of it much.. It feels like a rerun of Nakomis & Cowboy and like the kind of thing that will drag in a lot of private family dirty laundry and a lot of innocent bystanders
I've just about given up on ever getting a BB with no "twists" and a houseful of "regular people" but it seems like they could come up with something with less potential to add damage to family relationships that already sound strained & delicate

I very much agree. I was thinking the same thing how once again people are coming into the house with relationships of some sort with other people. They did this in season five, six, and seven. Have they nothing original?
Also, I remember several of us saying last year that there wasnt many fun, get to know you type of stories. There were things that had already happened on the outside, speaking in code, whatnot - with the exception of Janelle & George's conversations.
I dunno. Its just disappointing that they are re-hashing previous seasons. Especially with the father/daughter connection - this is deplorable. I hated what it did to Nik in season 5 (she is still my favorite player of all time though) - this is a private, family situation. If they want to become the Jerry Springer show, get a studio audience and a host that knows how to improvise.
Its frustrating. The show has so much potential, and it is a huge thing in every other country except the US - did they ever think maybe its not a big ratings grabber because they cast aspiring actors and models and give them nothing to do, instead of throwing in true twists like they do everywhere else.

They did this in season five, six, and seven.
and four with the ex's - It seems to be all they've got, or so they think
You're right, BB is huge in other countries with regular folks and tweaky tasks.. I'm disappointed with all this "twist" crap, especially this year's, but I'll wait to see how it plays out

It does kind of seem as though they're trying to add entertainment value or tension to the house by putting Dick and Daniele in together. I hope it's not the main focus of the season because if it is, it will be just pointless.
Anyways, the twist will definitely make for an interesting season. I'm actually one of the few who thinks it could be good. but most likely either the 'enemies' will secretly form and alliance, or they'll form two feuding alliances. could get predictable, could get interesting.
hey maybe Dr Phil will pop in the work on the relationships LOLOLOL

I don't think Dick will last long from reading his Myspace page. His attitude will get him thrown out on his can pretty early in the game IMO........They did bring in Neil Patrick Harris last year...maybe Dr. Phil isn't such a stretch...LOL

I think he is gone quick to. I checked out the myspace. I see it looks like he has done some work on a Pirates movie. He looks real familar to me for some reason. His son posted on his website that neither of them know yet that they will be in the house together. Other chatters asked about the disagreement and he has not responded.

I just dont get how they would not know they are in the house together, havent they seen the cast announcements??

no they haven't seen the cast announcements. the houseguests are sequestered for several days before they enter the house so BB can do it's marketing & promos. They won't know who's in the house with them till they get to the studio. They will go in today or tomorrow most likely.

I gotta say... The so called twist doesnt' bother me at all. What bothers me the most is that the majority of these people are once again either models or actors. What happened to real people being on reality shows?
I can understand that they want attractive people. Don't they know that there are such people who exist who are gorgeous and NOT an actor or model?

oh i was thinking the same thing. like, its okay that you want people who are hot. but do they all have to have an IMDB account?

This is a sad rehash.
I shudder to think of the family members who are on the OUTSIDE that will be drug through the mud during this "must watch" TV moment.
All I can think about is Nakomis' late night break down caught on feeds.
Drunk, raw, & hurting....
About half way through that break down it stopped being "ok"
for me to watch.

One of them could always spazz out under the pressure within the first week ike Scott W of BB4 fame, making their role in the "twist" pointless....I kinda like it when that happens ;)

That's all part of being in the spotlight:cool: These people chose to be there or had an option...and they should have considered thier other family members before signing on the dotted line... look at Lindsay Lohan and her mom...Brittany and her mom...families get drug through the media ..internet...
It's all fair game...

Yes... IT definitely seems to be a ratings ploy. But if they are going to do it, they should at least do an equal split with everyone being in there with someone they can't stand. 7 pairs instead of singling out a few.
You're right, there will never again be a house with just "regular" people and no twists. Reality show contestants in general all seem to be attention-seeking, wannabe actors, pin-up guys/dolls, or media icons.

Sex sells, and these people are sexy. What they are NOT is real. I don't believe that Dick and Daniele were unaware that the other was going to be there. Dick says he sends her emails all the time and she doesn't respond. Do you think he would have left out being chosen by BB in an email. They "claim" that they are only given 1 hour to pack and leave, but that's CRAZY. People have jobs, children, bills, appointments. How does a single mother prepare an 8 year old for the fact that she *might* be leaving any minute and be out of reach for 3 months. I think that might be traumatic for a kid.

I saw a forum yesterday where Dick's son was talking and he said that the two of them tried to get on the show together a few years ago when the did the pairs. He said they applied together and just didn't make it. He wouldn't say if both applied this year. He just said that Daniele had applied and he implied that they just called Dick and asked him to come in.
